anyway speaking of futurama, one of my absolute favorite fics in literally any fandom, he ain't heavy (he's my meatbag) is turning ten this february, so everyone should read that right now

#anyway it's a wildly good bender character study #and one of the only pieces of fiction-- fic or original-- that i've felt uses second person narration effectively #it's such an interesting choice for a character study and works so well #and just the concept of 'god. how did bender react to the events of the sting' is so good #amy coming to the realization that bender must have been terrified and then guiltily going #'i always forget you have emotions when stuff like this isn't happening' is such a gut punch every time #also though the dialogue is so SO good and in character. like they have every single voice down completely pat #and despite the situation it's really really funny at times
