That waistcoat/vest really does show off David’s small waist and I’m so here for it! I bet Michael really loves that fact as well ;) so excited for good omens 2 and all the pretty eye candy that is David and all the handsome adorableness of Michael.

Totally echoing every single one of your sentiments, Anon. Every little new piece of BTS material we get (pictures, video, even teasing little bits from Neil) just makes me more and more excited for Good Omens 2. From the looks of things, Michael and David truly seem to be having so much fun making it, and I think that is what has me most excited of all.

As for the waistcoat/vest...oh, yes. Michael is, of course, a consummate professional and cares deeply about the show and the role of Aziraphale and would not let David in a leather waistcoat distract him from the work at hand. But...Michael has also previously taken ample notice of and commented on David’s hips (as illustrated in the gif below):

So I am very quite sure that Michael has and is noticing how utterly snackable David looks in that vest. Perhaps even thinking about looping his arms around David’s waist and pinning him down on the bed, both of them enjoying the weight of Michael’s body against David’s lithe frame. I can just imagine his reaction the first time he saw David in that vest, eyes raking over the length of David’s body and blood rushing to a place that would make him very grateful for Aziraphale’s loose-fitting clothes.

Or maybe Michael wouldn’t even be quite so overt and would refrain from saying anything aloud--out of respect/not wanting to embarrass David--but would instead hotly whisper, “You look so fucking gorgeous” in his ear. He would discreetly trace a finger over the back of David’s wrist, knowing how sensitive it is, and admire the faint blush creeping up David’s neck in response. And it would be just enough to sate Michael’s hunger for David until they are alone that night...

Oh, yes. I do think Michael Sheen is enjoying the pretty eye candy that is David as much as the rest of us are (if not more so, the lucky bastard). Hoping fervently that we get more BTS goodness of that leather waistcoat as filming continues... 🤞

Have you seen in 80 days already? I found a stream, binged it and loved it, but I also think that David completely carried it. As in, it was a genuinely enjoyable series, but only because his portrayal of our main character was so lively and gave this version of the story the needed charm, I think. (And he's so distractingly hanesome and attractive, even with this horrid mustache...)

Hi, Anon! No, I haven’t seen ATWI80D yet, unfortunately, as it’s not being released here in the States until January. I just happened to come across that snippet where the screenshot I posted is from, and David was so compelling to watch even in a short clip. It seems clear that he put 110% of himself into the role of Phileas Fogg, and so I’m not at all surprised to hear your assessment that he carried the series.

I think there was something about the filming process for ATWI80D in particular that brought such a performance in David. The fact that the schedule was bifurcated because of COVID, for instance, meant that this project had to be on David’s mind a lot more than it perhaps would’ve normally. Also that this series/book is about a journey, and David went on a journey of his own while filming it--if not physically, then certainly emotionally/mentally due to lockdown, and then coming out of lockdown to be able to finish filming. So I feel like he took that all inside himself and put it into the story, maybe even as a form of therapy--like to reinforce the thought that he made it through one journey with charm and humor, so now it’s time to make it through another. And that’s what makes his Phileas so watchable, so energetic but also fragile in such a human way.

I’m very much looking forward to watching the full series, though, and seeing all that David brings to the role. Well, as long as I can manage to not be too distracted by his absurd handsomeness...which, as you mentioned, fervently persists despite the very silly moustache...

David truly expresses so much with just his eyes. This is one of the things that stands out to me about David's acting versus Michael's, which is that while Michael can physically transform himself completely into a character, there's always a little piece of his own personality in the role. But David can seemingly rearrange the shape of his entire soul, to where you look into his eyes and just see the character, and there isn't a trace of him to be found. And he does this to devastating effect as Phileas Fogg, conveying Phileas' deepest emotions without even saying a word...

@somethingjustsouthofbrilliance Oh, yes. Well now you’re certainly speaking my language. We tend to think of stripteases as ripping off and unceremoniously discarding clothing, but I think it’s so much sexier when it’s slower and deliberate.

I particularly love the mental image of David wearing that waistcoat with nothing underneath it, long hair falling over his eyes as he gazes down to watch each button come undone. He starts at the bottom, a hint of bare stomach peeking out already thanks to the sinfully tight, low-cut trousers he’s wearing. One button open, then two, before moving to the top and undoing a few of those, a tease of fine chest hair visible just under his throat. Right as the last button is taken care of, he turns away, allowing only a brief glimpse of bare skin, and lets the waistcoat slide down his arms. David glances over one shoulder, hips cocked and eyes dark as the waistcoat falls to his feet, leaving him standing in front of you half naked and wanting...
