I did not need to learn that there's a 1979 adaptation of Rebecca with Jeremy Brett and Joanna David (two of the very few actors that could make me care for these characters and actually engage with the story) and that it has never been released by the BBC in anything resembling relatively good quality (there's only a blurry VHS making the rounds on YT).

#This is what happens to you when you are innocently watching a series #and see a side character and you go #oh that's an interesting actor what else has he done #and you fall down a rabbit hole #and now you have a new white whale #I mean the 1982 Dear Enemy is worse because we barely have anything but like 1 picture #and the confirmation that it exists on the BFI #That makes three with the 1976 radio drama of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall #and my heart longs for a remaster of the 1997 The Woman in White #alas
