Not going to lie, this exact statement flashes through my head every time no matter how talented the artist’s portrayal is, because I have strong opinions on the matter >>

#i just like it as a design decision #technically I headcanon Indis black and Anarie black #so arafinweans should be black as well just not as dark #and then Finwe gives me Indian vibes #because noldor rock bling #and then Miriel is like pale as a ghost #and nerdanel is a heavily freckled ginger #so we get a variety of options going on for feanorian character designs #and Earwen is like silvery blonde and tanned #so we get dark golden skin golden hair going on in the arafinweans #but nolofinweans are dark haired dark skinned kings #… literal kings #but don’t hold that against them they were punished by the universe
