funniest thing i ever encountered during fic research was the other day i was researching cults and how they work how the leaders usually are how they lure people in etc, etc, and i find a reddit post titled “how do i start a cult” on r/mbti (?) and people were giving genuine advice and answers on how to start a cult and manipulate people into joining it

#sodaramblestoomuch #the poster never returned with his results so no clue if it worked or not but interesting!#second funniest thing about that thread was commenters recommending certain personality types to handle ‘behind the scenes’ tasks #but wording it in a way similar to how one might give instructions to fix a car like “get yourself a wrench to keep on hand for screws”#“get yourself an xNxJ to run it [the cult] for you just in case [you don’t want to]” <- paraphrased quote i laughed over for 2 mins #and other such statements such as “only ENTPs[?] can run cults”#unfortunately didn’t get much help from that post as my issue was with /writing/ cults rather than starting them
