Thinking thoughts about Joyce & Jonathan again
#SPECIFICALLY the parallels in s4#like Joyce going to Russia for Hopper and Jonathan going to Hawkins for Nancy#something something i am my mother's child I'll love you till my breathing stops#no but seriously he really is his mother's son#and we don't talk about it enough#because we want to focus on the tragedy of him being like Lonnie#but like even looking at s2 we could call Joyce not letting Bob ask the way in as part of her own trust issues from Lonnie#and Jonathan mimics that with Nancy#... or we could talk about how she was reluctant to date Hopper bc of those trust issues#and like Nancy mentions they're both incredibly anxious people#and personally I have a long standing headcanon that Joyce used substances as a coping mechanism in her marriage#BUT I DIGRESS#anyways I'm gonna go be sad about them#jonathan byers#joyce byers#Byers family#stranger things
