I've never been more persuaded to read "one step three steps" more than via the promise of an Itachi and Ichigo fist fight. let Itachi be feral 2024

LET ITACHI BE FERAL 2024 HE DESERVES IT !!!! I am obscenely excited to write it actually, Ichigo is a pro at pressing peoples buttons and shes ab to find Itachi's and fucking slam them (though in her defence, Itachi found hers and slammed them almost as hard)

I love when characters meet and are pretty friendly at first, look like they're on a solid path to become friends, then one of them (Ichigo) realizes that the other (Itachi) has a similar look in their eyes as someone they admire (Madara) and when they try to point it out as a good thing, it is absoloutley taken the worst fucking way possible and things quickly devolve into a public shouting match where they have to be physically pulled away from eachother ❤️

(Ichigo is ab to be 2 for 2 for getting in brawls with clan heirs)

I think their fight is also made funnier bc Itachi is SO out of Ichigo's league when it comes to fighting, like, literal ANBU agent vs a girl who only just hits chunnin level if you squint. So like the fact that they just fucking go at it in a messy, uncoordinated brawl that they need to be pulled appart from— they're really showing their age w this one huh

Anyways take this snippet I wrote fucking months ago from my fic notes:

"I— Fugaku . . ." Mikoto looked faint. "Itachi got into a fist fight with one of the children today." Fugaku stared at his wife, uncomprehending. "Is that an analogy, or—?" "No, he got into a fist fight. Not even a proper one, I-I think they bit eachother? I . . ."

Mikoto slowly sank into the chair next to her, hand rising to cover her mouth as she said faintly, "Is this what they call a teenage rebellion?" "Our Itachi." Fugaku clarified. "They had to be separated from eachother. In public." "Our Itachi." He tried again. "They nearly got put in holding for disorderly conduct."

Anyways u should totally read the fic I like to believe it's funny and the Itachi and Sasuke chapters (ch 7+8) is honestly some of my favorite writing I've done in the naruto fandom overall
