This episode hurt.  It hurt so much.  It hurt so good.

I agree with the theories out there that Towa’s memory of the forest is not completely accurate.  She even admits that her memories have all but faded and she’s holding on to that one moment.  The metaphorical forest animals, the missing parents -- it’s like a fairy tale of two little lost princesses in the woods.  It was dream like sequence that focused only on the little girls and their bond.  I don’t believe they were just dumped in the forest to raise themselves.

And yes, Rin is the mom.  Without even seeing any more, I am totally convinced.  That scene of the girls sleeping by the tree?  A direct parallel to Rin sleeping by the tree in “Forever with Lord Sesshomaru.”  Towa was even in the same exact position, almost the exact expression.  Towa getting in a fight with a group of men next to a stream?  Very similar to Rin being beat up by a group of village men next to a stream.  Setsuna chowing down on that pear looked very similar to Rin chowing down on that stolen melon (and Towa shared the pear the same way Rin shared the melon with Kohaku).  So, yeah...no doubt for me.

Now, where the heck is Rin and everyone else?
