people write maddie in fics to have the personality a wet blanket
#you know in like. the ember island players or whatever#and kataras character just cried all the time#and did nothing else but cry. thats how some people write maddie#maddie is actually really like. sarcastic. and she gets annoyed by things easily#and is really impatient#she likes things to go her way and she gets upset when they dont!#she blames herself when something goes wrong#but still tries her damnedest to fix it even if there is no way she can#she takes things upon herself without asking it the person shes trying to help needs or wants help#she has opinions and convictions and she doesnt like strangers not because shes shy but because she finds them annoying#but all of those things often go out the window in fics#same with chim being just comic relief#instead of a person. who uses comedy and jokes to try to cheer people up around him#because he has witnessed so much pain and suffering but knows that it isnt so bad if you have someone to laugh with#and dont even get me started on the way people characterize chris..#also i think people really overestimate how often she calls buck evan#she calls him buck MOST of the time#and she also doesnt actually call chim howie that often either!#i mean she says howie more often than she says evan#but most of the time she says buck and chim/chimney
