Itoshi Sae:

keep in mind that this has never happened before

there’s no doubt that he’s a great player with even better skill and stamina than most but

there’s always someone better

Sae wasn’t going to let that steer him away after all his hard work though, so after a few tug and pulls of going across the field, he decides to put his all into the game

it’s been a long time since he put his all into a game

even then, he never fully expected that he’d pass out

but he sure as hell is glad that if anyone is gonna be by his side, it’s you

and he could definitely get used to waking up to the sound of your voice, not even thinking about the fact that one minute ago, he was in the midst of an intense game

“Sae?”

literally a puppy when you rub your thumb across his cheek to keep him conscious because he doesn’t even know that he’s leaning into your palm

no thoughts, head empty, only your warmth

“Y/n?”

if you don’t feel something when you watched this man put his hand over yours as he opened his eyes, then i don’t know what to tell you that was hot

he doesn’t remember ever fainting when you recall the event to him but he does get a little angry by the end of your retelling

not at you but at himself for not being able to hold out, or being so weak that he fainted

“Sae,” He looks up at you. “i’m so proud of you. you shot the winning goal.”

the wide grin and pure joy displayed in your features dampens his frustration and eventually dissolves it

pride is all he knows now—and you, of course

but like.. he’s also just woke up not too long ago and is still half asleep so he just says

“really?” as if it’s the least likely thing to ever happen 💀

admittedly, it’s pretty cute—and he���s very cute—so you brush it off with a laugh before pressing a quick peck to his cheek

and never in his life has this man turned red so much before in the span of five seconds

Shidou:

fully remembers exactly when and how he passed out before you can even explain it to him

he’s not phased by it in the slightest, he’s actually more curious because he was in the middle of kicking for a score

nobody is allowed to tell him that he ended up not scoring the goal

cause everybody was too distracted with the fact that he passed out and the goalie blocked it

plays damsel in distress when he sees you

he was dehydrated

there was some scolding and bantering between you two

but nothing heavy as he left with a defeated smack to the back of his head

"fine, i promise i'll drink more water, mom." don't drop the smile, the cameras are still rolling

though there were no bone-crushing injuries, he did fall really hard onto his back

so like the good partner you are, you spent some time massaging him

he actually gets really quiet for once

it's almost satisfying to see the way his muscles relax after a long game like this one

it's almost nice the way you revel in each other's presence...

he fell asleep...

even though you could wake him up, it was a long and tiring game

and he wouldn't be your boyfriend if you didn't have some type of soft spot for him

leaving him in the slightly dimmed room with a blanket draped over and tucked to his chin, you go out to handle the crowd of reporters and cameras

the manager had offered to take care of the crowd themselves but in the spur of the moment, you turned them down

but here's the catch... you've never addressed to them as shidou's formal s/o... or addressed them at all for that matter

so there was the initial, "what's it like dating him?"

"how long has your relationship been going on for?"

"how did the two of you meet?"

so you had to wait at least ten minutes for the initial shock to go down before explaining what happened to the crowd and then you literally dipped to go back to shidou

"hey, where'd you go?" hehe sleepy shidou

"nowhere, oh and everybody knows we're dating."

he almost goes back to sleep until he hears the last part and shoots to sit up in his cot

of course like any sane person, he has no reason to be ashamed of dating you

but he also knew that the world of fame also came with press that kept pressing until they got every detail of your life

and like the loving boyfriend he is, he really didn't want you to be exposed to that side of the world

"it's fine, Ryu. we won't let them get to us, right?"

and when you kissed to his forehead as he brought you into his arms, he knew you were right

But oh my god- this man’s tongue is sharper than his field skills, he can piss you off in 00.00001 seconds

It’s a 50/50 - sometimes he’ll mean what he says and other times he just pops out of his mouth without giving it another thought

So he sleeps on the couch a lot

But unlike around others,he learns to hold his tongue around you, trying to not aim his spitfires at you, but that doesnt stop the comments he makes
