Birthday Book Sale

As I have a birthday on Monday, I decided to do a sale on the ebook editions. $0.99 each through Monday. :)

The Hasty Visitor’s Guide to American Fairy Hills – Hazel is a half-fairy real estate lawyer who thinks a lot about quitting her job. The best (only) second date she’s had in years is interrupted by a dying troll who give her a phoenix egg; a cross-country journey ensues as she and her new maybe-girlfriend protect the egg against those who covet its power. Adventure touched with romance, conceived as a sort of cross between American Gods and War for the Oaks.

The Prometheus Skein – Boston is threatened with invasion from another dimension, led by poet turned sorceror-king Lord Byron. Zari is one of the few with the ability to defend it, if she can learn magic fast enough and survive Byron’s attempts to recruit her–and if her allies, including two Round Table knights who have hated each other for centuries, will stop arguing with each other. A love letter to literature and my adopted home town.

Tisiphone’s Quest - Conceived as an answer to a prompt for a gothic science fiction sex-fantasy mystery novel. Spaceships, magic, a family under a curse, a world-weary-homicide cop on the trail of a killer, and more!

hey!! could you guys go into a bit more details about the furies and like specifically what they do? are they all dancers as a cover or?

Absolutely! The Furies have various jobs, but dancer/entertainer is the go-to and their main function and cover as they're operating the spy ring. But they have the leeway of moving between things if they'd make better headway through other jobs - for example, Tisiphone is a card dealer at the casino, Megara is an occasional fixer, etc. But their core job is to feed intel on all visitors to Tartarus back to Hades - that way, he can control - and cash in - on each aspect of human nature: the dangerous, the harmless, and the profitable.

A new book from me!

I always seem to start these posts with "after many years..." because it does in fact take me years to finish a book. I have now done this THREE times, though, so that's a thing.

The Hasty Visitor's Guide to American Fairy Hills -- it's only slightly off to say it's a book I wrote for Tumblr. It's light and fun, but not silly, and it's about a half-fairy, soon-to-be-ex-lawyer and her guitar player would-like-to-be-girlfriend on a road trip to save a phoenix. I think the people here might like it.

If you want to, you can read the three sisters’ songs as a synthesis sequence.

“Waiting on a Miracle” - No one asks Mirabel to do anything (because they don’t think she has anything to contribute).

“Surface Pressure” - Everyone asks Luisa to do everything (for them). 

“What Else Can I Do” - Isabela gives a nod to that (”if they would let me be”) but then spends most of her song exploring how to continue using her gift, but in a way that is self-fulfilling.

A new book from me!
