i finally beat undertale lol. i played it back when it first came out but nobody knew shit abt how it worked at that point and I was under the impression that you Had to do a full pacifist run first, and it was rlly hard and I tried and failed to beat mettaton ex so many times that I decided to take a break, and then the person whose steam library shared it w me ended up unsharing it, and i just never went back to it

anyway ive been meaning to go back to it for awhile and all the deltarune hype finally got me to, I bought it on switch, and tbh im not sure if the switch version is easier or if ive just gotten a lot better at video games since i was 19, tho doing a neutral route where i killed some of the random encounters was helpful as far as max hp goes too.

anyway there's so many memes that ive seen before but did not realize came from undertale like. obviously ik all the sans ones and stuff but i didn't know abt like. "oh no they're meeting all my standards," "so hyped for the destruction of humanity," "im only 19 and ive already wasted my entire life" etc

i also didn't realize how short the game is and that's not a bad thing since ik it's designed to be replayed but i probably would have kept going back in 2015 if id realized how close to the end i was, like idk it feels kinda like the underground Should be the size of the map in a pokemon game instead of only having like 3 big areas and 2 small ones

im also pleasantly surprised that i was spoiled less than expected, like i def knew a Lot from seeing ppl talk about it but pretty much everything that i hadn't played before was new to me, tho I knew tht asgore+toriel were divorced & tht at one point they'd had the 2 kids, ive seen enough fanart etc. id not seen any of the details and was shocked by the New Home, id seen screenshots of the "despite everything it's still you" but thought that it was alt dialogue for if you went to toriels house again later or sth. & i didn't realize that flowey directly challenges you to do the pacifist route that was rlly cool

anyway. Now im going to do the pacifist one, i don't think ill be able to make myself do the genocide rt tho bc yea no. ill probably watch a video of someone doing it tbh
