Cliff doesn't really need Sierra to review all the information again, but he likes the way her eyes gradually light up the longer she explains, gestures getting faster and more exaggerated as they go on. Apparently this 'Wolfen and Warlocks' game is based on a book series she really liked as a kid, left behind when she moved into the world of teenage social drama in an effort to be more 'cool'.

But hey, being cool went out the window when she started hanging out with Team Prime. Which means Cliff gets to sit and listen as his kid rambles on about this roleplaying game she recently discovered, Sierra unaware of his soft smile while she debates what abilities to pick out for her new magical badger-person.

How To Write In Inform 7

Welcome to my introduction to Inform 7. I'm going to teach you today to format your story properly so Inform doesn't struggle to read it. This is also, effectively, a starter guide to Inform 7.

Building a room

Building a room is the foundation of writing your story. Without rooms, your player has nowhere to go. Your game won't even print without a room.

If you simply write:

The Bedroom is a room;

Exactly like that, then hit Go!, your game will print a room called Bedroom with a single > on screen for the player to interact. We'll come back to rooms later on.

Proper punctuation

Punctuation is vital for your story's flow to be read properly. You can break up your story into parts and sections without issue, but if you end a sentence with the wrong punctuation, Inform will forget about the previous information it read and cause things to break. This was one of the issues I ran into, because I was not clear on how punctuation needed to be.

Let's look at a basic room; pay attention to the punctuation of each sentence. We'll break it down after.

Use the serial comma;

The Bedroom is a room. "Your bedroom. It is small but cozy. Your double bed takes up most of the space, leaving little room for a bookshelf, and your nightstand. An ivy plant thrives on it, not far from the window.";

The double bed, the nightstand, the bookshelf, the ivy plant, and the window are in the Bedroom;

The double bed, the nightstand, the bookshelf, the ivy plant, and the window are scenery;

Okay, let's break it down. Starting with the first statement: Use the serial comma;. This statement tells Inform 7 you intend to put commas after EVERY "and" list. This is optional but makes the code I wrote functional, as I use the serial comma. It ends with a semicolon (;) and not a period. This is important and where many people go wrong. Putting a period breaks up your paragraph flow.

But why, then, did I use one after "The Bedroom is a room."? It is because that sentence is immediately followed, without a line break, by another sentence: the room description. As the room description is where the paragraph ends and continues onto a new topic, it ends with a semicolon.

"The double bed, the nightstand, the bookshelf, the ivy plant, and the window are in the Bedroom;" creates these objects within the room so you may describe them by saying

The description of the double bed is "The description, which you would customize.";

You would repeat this for each item description, so that the player can >examine the double bed to get a description of the item that you choose.

The double bed, the nightstand, the bookshelf, the ivy plant, and the window are scenery;

This tells Inform 7 not to print "You can see a double bed, a nightstand, a bookshelf, an ivy plant, and a window here." The reason I have done this is because I wrote a specific room description which mentions all of these items as being visible within the room. It also tells Inform 7 that these items are fixed in place, so the player cannot >take double bed. If I wanted the items to be portable, I would say:

The double bed, the nightstand, the bookshelf, the ivy plant, and the window are undescribed;

instead of scenery.

Connecting rooms

Use the serial comma;

The Bedroom is a room. It is north of the Hallway. "Your bedroom. It is small but cozy. Your double bed takes up most of the space, leaving little room for a bookshelf, and your nightstand. An ivy plant thrives on it, not far from the window.";

The double bed, the nightstand, the bookshelf, the ivy plant, and the window are in the Bedroom;

The double bed, the nightstand, the bookshelf, the ivy plant, and the window are scenery;

The Hallway is a room. "A simple hallway.";

That's all it takes. You would then describe the Hallway in the same manner you created the Bedroom to establish it, too. When the player is in the Bedroom, they can >go south, or >south to travel to the Hallway.

Upstairs and downstairs are also possible. The direction you would substitute for "north" would either be "above" or "below".

Formatting your story

This is a personal preference. You could simply write your story as a block like we were doing above if that suits you, but it makes navigating very hard. I make use of Parts, Sections, and [ Headers ] to navigate my story and organize it. Here's how it works.

Part 1 - Definitions

Talking to is an action applying to one thing;

Understand "talk to [someone]" as talking to'

Part 2 - Rules

A battery is a type of thing;

The fresh battery is a battery;

Part 3 - Rooms

[ Bedroom ]

The Bedroom is a room. It is north of the Hallway;

The fresh battery is in the Bedroom;

[ Hallway ]

The Hallway is a room;

Part 4 - Objects

[ Bedroom ]

The fresh battery is in the Bedroom;

The most important thing to note is the order of my headings. Rooms must ALWAYS come before Doors, and in this I would put Doors into Objects. In reality, I give Doors their own section between Rooms and Objects, for readability. Either would work fine so long as Rooms are established before Doors.

That about sums it up! You can now write a basic room, you know how to format your story, and you understand the importance of punctuation. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

Alright so I was dragging my feet to watch the episode of Blue Bloods with Alex Brightman in it and I'm glad I did because I got some cool ideas. I don't watch cop centric shows anymore but I thought Ralph would be a cool Italian mob type: turns out he's some dickhead twitch gamer who murdered a girl for stupid reasons I can't remember. 

So fuck cannon, he's a 90's mobman now. 

**YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**

Imagine Ralph Lamont is a one man clean up crew. He's the go-to guy for any jobs gone wrong, gone messy. Body needs disappearing without a trace? Ralphie's your guy. 

Kinda like The Wolf from Pulp Fiction (Tarentino, 1994) 

Hydrochloric acid, latex, bleach, bone saw: all he needs is a few hours and it's like there was never a brutal murder here. (Sometimes this is accomplished with a distraction, a staged robbery or shoot out a few counties over if there were too many witnesses)

So Mr. Clean I mean Mr. Lamont gets a job at your home. 

It's a cute little 3rd floor apartment with a Mr. and Mrs. Andersen living in it. 

Mr. Andersen is– pardon, was– a bookkeeper for Dr. Coolidge (friend of Ralphie's; they both like sterile environments), so it's a favor. Dr. Coolidge mentioned over the phone he expected something "like this" to happen sooner or later. He asked Ralphie to be delicate with you– the late Mrs. Andersen. 

You buzz him in without a word. 

He finds you leaning against the kitchen island, putting out the cherry of your cigarette. You put it out right on Mr. Andersen's ugly yellow tie (or he thinks it used to be yellow)

It's a fucking blood bath in here. Mr. Andersen was a bleeder. Red splashes and streaks cover the counters, the toaster, the oven door, the fridge. There are bloody footprints on the floor and an honest-to-go pool of it dripping off the counter right next to Andersen's final resting place. You left the steak knife in his throat and he must have sat down in that island chair never to get back up again. His eyes are listless and grey. 

Ralphie walks around you, careful to keep you in his peripheral just in case you weren't done "expressing yourself." The linen of your frock is stained, your feet are bare, and your eye is black and swollen. Some of your bruises are old. 

In his sweep, he finds three bloodied knives in the sink: a bread knife, a fillet knife, and a cleaver. 

"Mrs. Andersen," he says as he turns back to you, "if you wouldn't mind moving to the bedroom for me? You've made quite a mess and I'd hate for you to have to see anymore violence." 

"You gonna fight him for my honor? He's already dead." 

Ralphie chuckles. "No ma'am. I'm gonna cut him up into pieces so the gallons of acid I brought with me dissolve his corpse efficiently. I'll need to borrow your bathtub for that, and you don't want to try getting cleaned up after the fact. It's no good for the skin." 

He's circled around the white marble kitchen island to stand before you. He's calm. The smile on his face is easy and it soothes you. You drop your eyes and catch an unexpected sight. 

"Are you…" you wipe at your mouth a accidentally leave a crusted red streak. "Do you get off on this?" 

Mr. Lamont shifts his stance; no doubt you've seen the light tent in his pants. "What can I say except I admire your handiwork, Mrs. Andersen. I imagine you may have wanted him to die slowly and painfully. Was it all that you hoped for?" 

You turn sheepish (incredible, really, surrounded by such admirable evidence of your own rage) and nod. "It was…" 

"Glad to hear," he says softly. "Now, if you wouldn't mind..." 

He places a gentle hand on your shoulder but you step away from the island and change his distant, guiding gesture into an intimate embrace. He looks at you in surprise when he feels you wrap your hands around his back beneath his blazer. 

"I seem to suffer a similar affliction," you tell him and press yourself into his erection. "You wouldn't mind giving a girl a hand, would you?" 

Well it certainly wasn't part of the job, but he was eager to please. 

“As you like it,” he whispered, pulling you into a soft kiss. 

Your blood sings in your veins. You’ve just killed your no good louse of a husband and now you’ve got your tongue down a stranger’s throat. And a handsome one too, so polite (you were still wary of him but if Dr. Coolidge sent him perhaps he couldn’t be all bad)

You tug at his tie as if it would make him any closer to being inside of you. The smell of copper is a never ending assault on your senses, but you also smell wood smoke beneath it on his collar. 

Mr. Lamont’s cheeky hands find your hips and a second later he’s helping you sit up on the kitchen counter. You can see your husband from the corner of your eye, his mouth hanging open in eternal anguish. It just serves to intensify your lust for life. 

You give Mr. Lamont's belt a meaningful tug and slip back down to the floor to turn around

You mean to ask him to help you with your zipper, but instead you feel his lips at your neck just before his hand grips the back of your head and pushes you down, face first into the counter inches away from the pool of blood. 

Your hand slides through the sticky essence and you feel Lamont draw your skirts up and your underthings down. 

You gasp with a shriek as you feel something hot slide up your slit and over your other hole. Did he just lick you??? 

The living man growls in what sounds like pleasure, pulling at his sleek tie just enough to loosen the constriction at his throat and then he’s shucking his pants down. 

You’re not sure if you want him to work you up slowly or take what he wants but you hold your breath and let him lead. You’re far from disappointed when he massages the meat of your rear and leans over your back. 

“You can still change your mind, doll,” he whispers, “not too late to go shower and forget today.” 

You consider it but you don’t want to forget. You want the feeling of Georgie’s life slipping through your fingers to soothe you to sleep every night. You want to carry the pleasure of giving your former husband a reason for his rampant jealous streak and know that for once there was nothing he could do about it. You want this living man to make this strange and terrifying day to end in bliss and solidify everything like lightning striking sand.  

You lift your head and run your dripping red hand through his pristine locks. He locks eyes with you and a shiver runs through him as a droplet lands on his nose. “I don’t want to stop, Mr. Lamont. Now be a good guest and fuck me.” 

“Call me Ralphie please,” he breathes, and he’s all too happy to comply. You feel his cock slip between your folds and as he enters you as he promised, you lick your lips and taste cherry and rust. 

“Ralphie… Ralphie…” He loves the sound of his name on your lips, the squishing sound of your lovely womanhood taking everything he gives it. For a moment your eyes go hard. Mr. Lamont gulps and worries for a second you’re going to pull the steak knife out of your husband’s throat to slit his, but instead you take a hold of his hair and pull his head back into an awkward but commanding angle. 

He feels your breath ghost over his neck. “My house, my rules. Make me see stars and I’ll tell you when to stop.” 

You sink your teeth into his neck and reach down to circle your pearl. Mr. Lamont does as he’s told, hissing and grunting but he holds off his release to give you exactly what you want. 

He has to stop thrusting when you start those delicious rhythmic tremors. He has to hold you up as you throw your head back and lose your balance, dependent on him to keep you upright. He takes over rubbing your pearl with a similar pressure as the one he watched you give yourself, and eased you back down from heaven into the bloody abyss on earth. 

For a second Ralph fears you’ve got too much control. What will he do if you tell him not to come at all? He’ll do as you command, of course, but how cruel were you going to treat him now that you’ve gotten what you wanted? He’s seen your handiwork all around, remember that. 

But your eyes turn soft and he’s worried you’re about to cry, that is until he watches you slip down to your bruised knees and ease your dress down your shoulders. Now you look positively debauched, breast bared and eyes turned up with a pleading look. 

“Finish on me, Ralphie.” You bit your lip and hope to god he’s still listening. “Right over my heart.” 

Ralph Lamont has never whimpered before. He’s doing it right now. How the fuck did he end up like this?

I hi guys welcome back to my Channel today I'm going to do a tutorial it's a little bit different to what i usually do i am actually using a wedding photograph here and i thought i would sort of do it to celebrate the start of my new business that is mainly focusing on weddings and families and couples and i'm actually doing this in conjunction with my boyfriend dan who is also a photographer so we're doing this business together on the side and then we're doing our own genres of photography and focusing on that too so i thought i would do some wedding photograph tones today hey if there is such a thing i guess but i did actually have a request from someone and it was to do some kind of faded pretty moody tones and i actually thought they would be really well-suited more so to wedding photographs anyway so that's why i've used a wedding photograph today so yeah just keep that in mind if you're ever wanting to use these tones are they might look really nice on wedding images so there is going to be a few adjustments in this tutorial today and it might get a bit confusing and i'm sorry if it does get a bit confusing because usually my tutorials i feel relatively straightforward but these will have quite a few adjustments so yeah just if you guys get a bit stuck just maybe pause the video at certain points or just watch it through a little bit more slowly if possible so my first adjustment today is going to be using curves because i love curves and i always use curves so ok the first adjustment is going to be 12 and 0 so we're just going to move that up there and the next adjustment will be 40 and 37 and then the next adjustment will be 91 and 93 then the next adjustment will be 179 and 180 and the next one will be 217 and 230 and the last one for the RGB will be 232 and 255 okay so just by doing that we've really softened the image a little bit kind of given at that vintage feel which is really popular especially among wedding photographers these days and wedding photographs I'll show you guys what that's done it's really just gotten a lot of the highlights and soften them a little bit made them not so bright so we're going to keep on the curves adjustment layer at the moment and then we're going to go to the red channel now we're going to map out a few points in this channel as well so the first one will be 0 and for the next one will be 61 and 72 the next one will be 146 and 145 and the next one will be 211 and 206 and the last one will be 255 and 247 ok so just by doing that we've kind of tweaked the Reds in the image and the blues so you'll see a little bit more blue in the darker parts of the image and a little bit more red in the lighter parts so the next Channel we're going to adjust is the green channel we're going to keep the first point at 0 and then just move one point to 152 and 149 so that's really...

craig adams here from wedding film school and today i'm going to show you a screen record of me editing an entire wedding ceremony so for this wedding i had two shooters myself and a second we had three cameras ac100 for this a 5d mark 3 which is this track these two clips and then this third track is a 6d so we also had three sources of audio one for the readings which was up on the podium one on the officiant who was the actually the mayor of the town and then we also had one on the groom and each of these were zoom h1 s with countrymen b3 microphone lav mics attached to them so I'm just going to go through this is a really quick ceremony it's only 18 minutes so should be pretty straightforward so I always start with the audio so we're just going to command s and I've got my left hand on shift Z space and Z and the a button I'll be using those hotkeys a lot for this part so first I'm just going to kind of listen figure out what I want to use of this track so sounds like that so sounds like the music is pretty good for this beginning up to this point right to here gets a little hot so I'm going to go in here and lay these two keyframes and it sounds like you know whoops sounds like the podium as I can see someone's talking for this mic so we're definitely going to use that so two keyframes there and then two keyframes at the end and then someone's talking at the podium again so we're going to the same thing and what I see here is actually music so we're going to use that music I don't see anyone talking so we're actually going to let that play it out and then we're going to switch back to the officiant I can see that he starts talking so we'll do that there so I'm just gonna choose the Z tool and zoom in press a to get out of that and I'm just going to pull these keyframes a lot closer to each other oops it's going to be the opposite I'm sorry shift see to see everything put the cursor where I want and then Z tool ok so this keyframe is going to go down I'm a zoom back out and all of this footage is compressed using prores so optimized for Final Cut X so should run pretty fine so now we're just going to kind of zoom out a little bit and listen to where she actually starts talking to love alright so right here so we're going to bring up on the slide not raise there we go these two keyframes closer we're just going to bring up this track audio right before she starts talking right there sends a little row body so we'll have to fix at some point will also fix the audio levels later so we'll cut the audio here before that little you know loud noise because her hands on the podium are like really close to the mic so it's too loud let's listen to when this starts not yet nope nope nope nope nope yeah yeah yep so we're going to put this right to keyframe...
