once upon a time I had a OC in world of warcraft, she was an undead, she was bleach white (with messy purple liberty spikes), she had been very intentionally preserved in undeath to be a bit doll-like, she was an action girl in contrast to that, but I went along and eventually realizing I was leaning too heavily on the white/pale=innocent trope, and I didn't have to be and I tried some designs where she was all over bog-mummy ebony instead (with messy purple bantu knots), and you know what, that was more fun to draw, and didn't really add or detract from what had become by then the major themes of her character.

(moving on from a limited set of aspirations while also genuinely mourning them(drama), trusting people who shouldn't be trusted (comedy), and making big explosions)

Experiment with the way they don't need to be default white.
