I think my main problem is that I want to build an organism from the ground up. not anything multicellular or anything but the idea of understanding how life works so well that you could take a scaffold genome like the mycoplasma mycoides minimal functional genome and add in a bunch of other genes and regulatory elements to make a completely new microorganism is so epic but it could really turn into some straight up evil scientist shit so instead I'm gonna do a bunch of insane biologist worldbuilding using the underdeveloped marvel comics pocket dimension
