“I know what he’s done,” soft words spoken to the phone pressed against her ear, her head slightly turned away to hide the movement of her lips from the eyes gathered around and near her, “but without you here, he’s my best shot. This has to be done, Brady, and as much as I would like to do it alone-” “When Hell freezes over,” the voice on the other line briefly interrupted her, the words of her out of commissioned partner bringing a very small smile to her face. “-I can’t, so this team is all I got; it’s all I need, and that includes Braxton Jacobs. He’s done some shit, sure, but it’s not like we all haven’t. He’s good, he’s useful, and I’m putting my trust in him; but don’t get me wrong, I’ll keep my guard up and watch him carefully.” She paused, gaze flickering to the undercover cop sitting isolated from the others across the enclosed conference room. “Don’t worry, partner, we’ll be fine.” And with that, after a short goodbye from her friend, she ended the call. 

Brown hues turned to the Chief and nodded, who returned the gesture and stood, silencing the chatter in the room by merely raising his hand.  “You select few have been chosen not only because of your work ethic, but your reliability.” A gaze from one of the cops was tossed to Braxton, Kimberly noticed, causing her jaw to clench slightly. The group of five officers, hand picked from different departments and fields, were all given a briefing beforehand over his inclusion, both to explain but also to warn them that any hostility towards Braxton wouldn’t be tolerated. Yes, his dirty reputation wasn’t a secret, but there was a reason he was here; he wasn’t useless and Kimberly was choosing to believe, albeit with some caution, that he wouldn’t turn on them as well. 

The Chief explained a bit of the background of their mission and their overall goal before adding the intel that Braxton had already managed to acquire for them: a potential hide out for small group of drug traffickers and dealers. That was to be their cover story, to bust the contraband - but their main objective was a single target; merely rumored to be among them at first, but after Kimberly began receiving mysterious and cryptic texts that she alone could only decipher, there was no doubt in her mind that HE was here, and the contraband was their best lead. 

“I won’t lie to you,” the brunette detective spoke up, her eyes trailing from each one of them, pausing for a few seconds longer on Braxton, “this is a personal vendetta for me. I’m sure you’re all aware of who the target is, and what he is to me...” And hopefully they did, as Kimberly didn’t particularly feel like telling that story, though if she had no choice...There was a slight tremble making its way through her body as memories poured into her mind, it took her less than a minute to gather herself - a new record for the detective.  “Joseph Charles is not to be underestimated. He may look like any ordinary person and not at all dangerous, perhaps even charming - but that’s how he gets you. He won’t hesitate for a moment and neither should you.” Speak for yourself, Mason. But they didn’t have that personal connection, that’s why they were better. “That being said,” the Chief added, “our main objective is to take Joseph Charles alive. If you need to discharge your weapon, shoot to injure or incapacitate - only as a last resort should you shoot to kill. You all have good judgment and I put full faith in each of you.” He told them the time that they were to be ready, it wouldn’t be for a while but it was definitely going to be done today. The group was dismissed, all except for Braxton, whom Kimberly asked to stay behind. “If you have a moment, that is...”

From the texts she received, flirtatiously conversing back and forth with Mitch, Katrina mapped out a plan to greet him upon his arrival home. She took a nice, hot shower to freshen herself up, washing her hair and lathering her body with the scented soaps that he liked, and after she was dry chose to dress herself in a two piece lace lingerie of his favorite color, complete with matching stockings and heels. She dried her hair, letting the natural waves loose and bouncing a little around her shoulders. She applied a thin layer of basic makeup - mascara and eyeliner, a bit of blush on her cheeks, and coated her lips with a flavored balm. She gave herself one last look in the mirror, grinning with content, before walking out towards the top of the staircase where she stood in waiting. 

Right on cue, Mitch stepped through the front door. Katrina called out to him, “Welcome home, honey. How was your day? I hope you’re not too tired, I have something special planned for you.” And with that, she crooked her finger, ushering him to join her.

     Clearly Nattie was not happy for not winning yet another women’s ladder match          for a future title shot. Yes, being in the most was a record-breaking milestone            but it meant nothing if you lost four times straight. Heavily sighing, she sat           in the locker room to check her phone and what she found was a message           from Logan, of all people. In the text he pretty much said she still did even                                                            great. Great?            Did he even see what went down? I LOST. And WHY is he texting me?              Nattie frowned confusedly at the screen for what seemed like a while                                                     before slowly replying.

“Why...?” he softly whispered to the picture frame in his hand, the photograph of the long, dark haired and brown eyes woman that made the dead heart of the vampire dance in his chest. His jaw clenched tight, tears brimming his dark hues, his body trembling. 

“She called me a monster...Her, of all people...Why, what changed? What did I do? I had to have done something...She told she I was better of without her trying to change me... Does...Does it scare her? D-Did I...?” Fingers gripped the frame so tight that it nearly cracked the glass, he could heard the beginning to snap under his fingertips. He dropped the picture frame onto the bed before he could break it - and he would have had he not caught himself in time. 

“Had she...Had she always felt like this? Had she been lying to be this whole time? No, it couldn’t be. Why would she...That does not make any sense...Then why? Why has she left me? What did I do wrong? I do not understand...I just DON’T UNDERSTAND! ARGH!” His fist burst through the wall he stood next to. The teeth he bared sharpened into fangs, his fingernails curling into claws that pierced his own palms, drawing his own blood. The tears that brimmed his eyes - now glowing red though not just in anger but every negative emotion his being could muster - fell down his cheeks. This was no way a gentleman should act-

“I have been betrayed....by the woman that I love....the woman I gave my dead heart to! And for what?!” He pulled his fist back, fingers spreading open and revealing the marks made by his claws. In the reflection of the window, he saw his fangs and piercing red glare of his eyes. 

“Because I am a monster. I do not deserve to love or be loved...” A soft grunt, his furious soul dissipating into that of a broken and defeated man. 

“So then, the answer is simple...I shall never love again. My heart is dead, it always has been...

It always will be.”

There’s no reason for this other than I wanted to do it. This is a list of all of my beautiful darlings that deserve love and appreciation whether it be for; their amazing writing skills, their wonderfully original brain children, their fantastic rendition of canon characters, and just for simply being a lovely person to be associated with. I’ve had some amazing experiences with a lot of you, some of you I’ve done little with but the little that we have done has been great and I’m hoping for more, and some I may perhaps probably totally am still stalking because I am a shy bean but still think you’re stunning and deserve all the happiness in the world. Now if I forgot you (hopefully not) or a sideblog/secondary blog of yours, I am truly sorry!! I am going to try to include everyone so that none of you feel left out (also hopefully Tumblr will TAG you, as sometimes the tagging hasn’t gone through, which I go back and edit). Today's Daily Encounter 17th March 2022

Change of Heart  “… A farmer went out to sow his seed… still other soilfell on good soil, where it produced a crop - a hundred, sixty or thirty timeswhat was sown."1In 1918, a notorious criminal named Tokichi Ichiiwas sentenced to hang.

Whilein prison in Tokyo, he was sent a New Testament by two missionaries, Miss West,and Miss McDonald. After a visit from Miss West, he began to read the story ofJesus’ crucifixion. When he reached the point where Jesus said, "Father,forgive them, for they know not what they do," something"clicked" within his heart. He wrote:

"Istopped: I was stabbed to the heart, as if by a five-inch nail. What did thisverse reveal to me? Shall I call it the love of the heart of Christ? Shall Icall it His compassion? I do not know what to call it.

Ionly know that with an unspeakably grateful heart, I believed. "Peoplewill say that I must have a very sorrowful heart because I am daily awaitingthe execution of the death sentence. This is not the case. I feel neithersorrow nor distress nor any pain. Locked up in a prison cell six feet by ninein size, I am infinitely happier than I was in the days of my sinning when Idid not know God."

WhenTokichi stood on the scaffold with the noose around his neck, with greatearnestness he spoke his last words: "My soul, purified, today returns tothe City of God."2

TheWord was sown into this man’s life, and he was changed. Did Miss West and MissMcDonald know what kind of soil they would sow on? Not likely. But they knewthat somewhere in that prison there was someone who needed to hear of God’sgreat love for them. Their faithfulness led this prisoner from the bondage ofsin to freedom in Christ. Keep sowing the seed, my friend. God will give the growthin his time, but our job is to consistently spread the good news of God’s love.We don’t know whose life will be forever changed by our obedience andfaithfulness to God. Suggested prayer: Dear God, give me a heart of compassionand love for others. Change my attitude and perspective as needed to be abetter reflection of you. Help me stay faithful and consistent as I sow theseed of Your Good News, and that the soil on which it lands would be good,allowing for the change that will bring them to You. Thank you for hearing andanswering my prayer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
