I must admit part of the reason why I am remaking my joenicky playlist (and subsequently adding more songs to my andromaqyunh one) is that I’ve noticed all of the playlists on spotify at least pretty much contain the same type of songs and the same genres. While it’s all well and good to use artists like Hozier and Lord Huron and Bastille (they’re in my playlist too), I believe that my playlist needs a bit more variety because a) I’m actually the one listening to it and have such a broad taste in music that I tend to get bored listening to indie folk music because I find a lot of the artists sound the same after a while and b) there are so many more songs that fit these characters from music I grew up listening to (i.e. bee gees, queen, inxs, etc.) and I also tend to listen to more rock/ballads from the 80s-90s so if I’m listening to a playlist almost everyday, which is what I have been doing with my JoeNicky playlist, I want to listen to music I don’t get bored with and like.

My andromaquynh one contains more traditional songs and ancient melodies and also feminist power songs because i think those songs relate to them more. Then their playlist centres around lost love and being lost to the sea for obvious reasons so their playlist is a little sadder to listen to. I dont listen to that one as much but I still like to tailor the songs and have variety there as well.
