the way the lightning thief musical adapts the lightning thief book is just. so good

it does the usual thing that musicals do, make the adaptation lighter, funnier, more fitting for places like broadway? ofc it keeps its original elements but like... the campfire song

what i cannot ever get over is luke. in the musical he feels more desperate and hopeless. ofc in the books he thought the same, there was no way the gods would help the camp and stuff, but hearing it sung in those vocals? i get CHILLS holy shitt ‼️ he also seems less remorseful. like he wouldnt be the same as book luke and shift sides last minute. he had already been begging them to listen to him, and no one did. "i dont care if i hurt anyone" book luke didnt either, until he finally came to his senses and realized hey !! killing kids to get back at our parents lowkey isnt good !! but the musical luke wouldnt. he'd be like jd before veronica showed him that he could be normal (then he died but its ok thats not the point)

anyway this is sloppy and im sick witj a cold but i guess what im trying to say is that musical luke is more desperate and less hesitant/remorseful than book luke ever was
