Sonic Music HCs

Sonic: Punk rock. Punk music tends to be anti-establishment, anti-authoritarian, and often pro-environmentalism. These are all core beliefs of Sonic's, and so the lyrics would resonate with him deeply. Sound-wise, fast guitars and loud drums are his bread and butter. If music doesn't make your blood race and bones rattle, what's the point? He hates ballads; anything too slow or sappy puts him off. (Though, he has sang slower punk songs, such as "Roadside" by Rise Against, to Tails as lullabies when they were younger.)

Tails: Also punk rock, because it's what he grew up listening to thanks to Sonic. Plus, punk rock songs tend to be loud and busy enough to provide his brain with the stimulation necessary to allow him to focus on one project at a time. That said, Tails is fine with most music and thinks there's something to like in just about any genre.

Knuckles: Honestly could not remember ever hearing a song even once in his life before traveling down to the surface for the first time. Sure, birds would sing and chao would bang on drums, but a full on song? No. That said, when he IS introduced to music he likes instrumental hip-hop. Songs with lyrics frustrate him if he can't tell what the lyrics are, so he likes instrumentals with nice beats.

Amy: Amy loves anything you can dance to. Pop and hip-hop are the big ones, but she also thinks swing music and jazz can be really fun to listen and dance to, too. She's pretty amiable about music too, but she doesn't like anything that sounds depressing or moody. Bright, fun, happy songs are her style.

Cream: On the record, Cream only listens to classical music that Vanilla introduced to her basically as soon as she was born. Off the record she also listens to everything Amy listens to, and is very invested in learning all the dance routines.

Big: Has no preferences really, basically anything is fine with him, but he does have an impressive collection of bluegrass albums.

Shadow: His music taste was cultivated fifty years ago on the Space Colony ARK when Maria would play her favorite records and he would listen to them with her. However, listening to those songs now hurts him in a way he doesn't want to deal with, so he doesn't. He also thinks most modern music sounds like garbage, so honestly, he just doesn't listen to music period. That said, he does enjoy a wide variety of podcasts, from trivia and history ones to true crime ones. He doesn't like talking to people, but he does like to listen to people talking to other people who aren't him.

Rouge: She likes whatever is most advantageous to like in the given moment. She has a vast array of music knowledge so she can con her way into any fan space or event. That said, the music playing most often in her bar is R&B or oldies.

Omega: He likes listening to things like recordings of car crashes, building and tank explosions, malfunctioning machinery, air raid sirens, etc. He insists this counts as music. Rouge advises against arguing with him, and Shadow hopes you try.

Vector: He's a ska man through and through, but he does dabble in a wide array of other genres too, to expand his music education. The only thing he won't touch is EDM. He thinks Omega's car crash recordings have more musical merit than EDM.

Espio: Espio claims to only listen to indie artists that most people have never heard of and Charmy says he made up on the spot. When asked to describe the genre, he never can. He actually listens to a mixture of emo rock and rap.

Charmy: Pop, but specifically the Kidz Bop versions because Vector doesn't want to have to explain cuss words, and also because Espio hates Kidz Bop with a passion. He also likes EDM when he's mad at Vector for something.

Whisper: Lo-fi is her absolute favorite; it calms her down even in her worst mental health moments. But she also used to be a big fan of alt rock, and the wisps remember how she has a beautiful deep register for R&B.

Tangle: Just about everything and anything, but power metal is a particular fave and it's her dream to be able to play "Through the Fire and Flames" on a real guitar. (Note: she does not know how to play guitar.) She will lose her voice screaming metal at karaoke and will go right back to do it again the next night.

Jewel: Also a fan of power metal; similar music taste is one of the first things she and Tangle bonded over. She's fine with other music, but when she's listening to music while serenely completing paperwork, there's power metal shredding in her earbuds.

Lanolin: She likes a smattering of different things, but her go-tos tend to be more indie / alternative fares. Think things like Sleeping at Last for instance. Heavy guitars and drums aren't her style: she prefers more melodic pieces.

Eggman: EDM. If it isn't made by machines, he doesn't think it's worth listening to.

Starline: Only the most distinguished classicals; nothing low-brow peasants would listen to. Eggman's taste in "music" was the only turn-off Starline had.

Surge: Thrash metal, speed metal—if it is loud, aggressive, and full of screaming, she is all over it. She hates anything sentimental, slow, or sweet.

Kit: Thrash metal and speed metal, because that's all Surge will listen to, and the idea of listening to something else on his own has never occurred to him.

Ranking The Black Bulls

I am so high after finishing the Black Clover anime which is why I'm making this. This is definitely a personal list and I just want a way for me to talk about these characters because I do love all of them.

Also, some spoilers.

16. Nacht and his demons

Little screen time and he’s extremely suspicious. Also if you keep going around being condescending to everyone I won’t like you.

I do not know his backstory which could definitely explain things but based on what he gets in the anime, I don’t care for him.

Pros are that he’s a pretty asshole and his tiny demons are cute.

15. Liebe

Lack of screen time gets you closer to the bottom.

That backstory was making me tear up though.

He gained anti-magic but how??? It kind of just happened.

He has a place in the found family whether he likes it or not.

14. Gordon Agrippa

I like that he just wants friends despite everyone thinking he’s creepy and being part of a family that studies curses.

He gets forgotten a lot :(

Actually a character who comes to have a healthy relationship with his family

He is shown to be kind of a stalker though which docks points. There's people being unreasonably scared of you and then there's keeping journals on everyone in the squad and making dolls of each of them.

13. Zora Ideale

Gets almost no character development after his introduction. They have forgotten this man which is a shame because he was introduced as a very interesting and menacing person.

His relationship with his father is very sweet

Zora, you will succumb to the found family.

12. Henry Legolant

Him going from a possible ghost to a true member of the Black Bulls is great. I love that the squad finds a way for him to be around them even with his curse

He’s very nice too.

Doesn’t get a lot after the Elven Invasion arc. All you see is him occasionally sitting in a box.

His magic is so epic when it gets used. I love the Raging Black Bull Formation.

11. Vanessa Enoteca

Doesn’t actually get too much to do after the Forest of Witches arc.

I love that she’s basically the squad’s big sister.

Her magic and the red thread of fate are super cool although Rouge kind of becomes her main power.

10. Grey

I really enjoyed the episodes that focused on her a lot and how she wants to overcome her shyness for the rest of the Black Bulls.

Her backstory is fairly basic but the reveal that she met Gauche beforehand and he saved her was so good. I already loved them and now I love them even more.

Also, Grey, Gordon, and Gauche are absolutely a trio. Them defending the base from the Eye of the Midnight Sun was great.

9. Secre Swallowtail

Her plot with Lumiere is very sweet and gets you to like her very quickly.

Lumiere helping her develop her magic that she thinks is useless is something I love too.

I like that she’s an example that your magic is what you make of it. What it becomes is so cool and actually very useful.

The fact that even after her seal is undone, she still chills as a bird on Asta's head.

Also, I think it's interesting that Luck is the one who came up with the name Nero and she agreed to it back in the earlier episodes.

8. Gauche Adlai

This man would be ten times more attractive without his sister complex. Fortunately, his gag isn’t his only character aspect (although it’s a fairly big one).

I actually thought he was going to be super unimportant and then he got his own arc early on which shocked me.

It was nice that he began wanting to protect more people than just Marie. I actually started to enjoy it when he showed up.

His magic is cool and powerful. I think it was one of the first magic types introduced that wasn't more elemental. I want to know how he got the magic item in his eye.

Berates everyone but is literally just as insane as the rest of them.

7. Charmy Pappitson

Slow clap for her magic literally being a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Her sheep cooks are cute too.

Obsessed with food (same) and I thought it might be a gag that makes her annoying, but she has other aspects that make her interesting and she’s a side character so I’m not asking that she be incredibly deep.

Her crush on Yuno is funny and I love that her magic is actually super strong when she tries. I never thought one of the crush situations would be Rill -> Charmy -> Yuno

6. Noelle Silva

Seeing her growth from the start of the series is amazing.

Tsundere but manages to not be super annoying with it.

Her spells are awesome and every time she learns a new one you want to cheer for her.

Valkyrie Armor is so pretty.

5. Asta

The fact that he inspires everyone around him is incredible.

I think that he’s the final piece of the Black Bulls that pulls them together and brings them from a band of hooligans to a true found family.

Has a surprising number of girls in love with him. Yet he is only dedicated to Sister Lily which I do find funny.

He does a great job at being a protagonist you want to root for which is important in a show like this. Everyone likes him so how can you not like him?

4. Finral Roulacase

There is something to be said about characters that are still nice even though the world keeps throwing things at them.

Finral’s family was never nice to him yet he still came out a kind person and that’s beautiful. The fact that he still cares for Langris really shows that.

Although he tends to run away from his problems, he works to face them as the series goes on and become stronger to fight alongside his friends.

I love his hairstyle change so much for some reason. He's so cute.

3. Yami Sukehiro

The man who adopted like thirteen kids.

I really enjoyed how his experience as a foreigner led him to create a squad that wouldn’t be bound by status or discrimination.

He literally picks up new members randomly off the street.

Despite being seemingly irresponsible compared to other Captains, he cares for his squad and wants them to be better and surpass their limits. He also knows what they are capable of and what they can handle.

2. Magna Swing

He's one of the most passionate of the Black Bulls and that makes him stand out despite him not being the strongest.

He does have magic but a lot of the time his abilities pale in comparison to the others’.

Even then, he tries to get stronger and I love that about him.

I also really like that his fire magic has a baseball theme. It makes it more unique because fire magic is so common.

I love watching him and Luck be dumbasses with each other.

More attractive with his hair down during the Elven Invasion.

Luck Voltia

Easy favorite. I cannot explain why exactly but he is my favorite.

I eat up any screen time he gets.

Luck: *murders someone in a fight*

Me: I love you so much

He’s crazy in wanting to fight almost everyone that comes his way but it’s shown that he is smart in battle too.

I like how everyone else has a case for their grimoire and he just straps it to his chest.

William Vangeance is the Black Bulls squad mom

William and Yami had been dating since the Grey Deers and once they got their own squads he sometimes had to come over to help rule in the Bulls because, no Yami, you can't just always threaten to kill them, that's not a healthy team dynamic.

Everyone listend to him because they love him and he gives of mom vibes and let's be honest they all have some type of Mommy issues over there.

Whether Luck and Magna were destroying half the base in a particularly destructive fight, cheering up a depressed Finral after having been rejected once again or having to convince Gauche that he cannot go see Marie now. William could fix anything.

He was the only one who always understood what Gordon said talked to him, made sure to include Grey in conversations even if all he got in return was a puff of air and later on always praised Noelle and Asta on their improvement.

The first hint of Nero actually being Secre was that she loved to sit on the tree mage's shoulder, cuddling into the fluffy part of his cape. Afterall, there is no way a normal Anti-bird would be anywhere near William Vangeance (she couldn't help it, there just was something about him that reminded her of her time with Lumiere, Tetia and the elves).

But when the Eye of the Midnight Sun were starting to get serious about putting their plan into action William broke up with Yami because he felt too guilty about lying and keeping secrets from him. The Black Bulls were all heartbroken and the Base was a misserable place to be at for at least a week. The rooms didn't even change their positions for a while.

One day William was at a bar with some of his squad members after a mission and encountered a very drunk Vanessa who rambled on about how they all missed their mom him. At her insistence he accompanied her to make sure she made it home safe and upon seeing how happy everyone was to see him again he promised them he'd still be there when they needed him because damn it those were still his kids.

Ever since then, Finral regularly portals him to the base when Yami's out on a mission and NO they are absolutely not fabricating emergencies just to have an excuse for him to come, everyone knows they are just that much of a disaster. It really is just a coincidence that Charmy always has his favorite foods ready and NO Finral does not get into a drinking competition with their witch so that William would have to stay over night because Finral couldn't make portals anymore that evening.

Except one night Yami comes back from a mission a day earlier than expected and he's not exactely happy his ex partner is just hanging out in his home but it's fine because he's totally not over him. So he let's William stay because he knows how much the squad had missed the tree mage and they definitely do not end up in the same room at some point of the night because they do not still love each other. And it most definitely does NOT become a reoccuring thing.

This fandom also struggles with humor posts. I was literally mocking the Kylie rumors in someone else's blog recently and they mistook me for an anti. Do we need to add "note the sarcasm" in every humor anon post so we don't get called out for being antis?

This is why I tend to steer clear of making jokes about certain circumstances related to this fandom because it’s all too easily misconstrued by others and/or taken out of context as ammunition against us.

There are some in our fandom who take their Charmie devotion extremely seriously and do not leave any room for humor or sarcasm of any kind from anyone, not even from friendly fellow fans, and who are exceedingly protective of Charmie to the point that they are spring-loaded to attack anything that they perceive as a threat to them or to Charmie itself.

I think that’s why some people might wRItE ComMeNts LiKe tHiS so that others will understand that they’re not actually serious.

A disclaimer to accompany it tends to diminish the humor from any joke, but perhaps that’s the answer, in this case, for greater clarity of our intentions.

Humor is how we know we’ve turned the corner on our troubles, when we can laugh about our unpleasant circumstances and perhaps even at ourselves for our part in their creation, as the case may be. It’s how we know we’ve arrived at a place where we’re able to turn the focus away from the obstacles, and towards finding a way around them, imho.

And who doesn’t love a good laugh?

Why do ya think age discourse is such a big thing in Sonic Fandom? Especially since the ages of most Sonic characters are pretty much an Informed Attribute (if Say Sonic's or Knuckles' age was suddenly changed to 25 years old very little would change)

It's not just the Sonic fandom. I'm not into Voltron or Overwatch, but I distinctly remember some ships being attacked because... one party was like 19 and the other in their mid 20s?

Same with Steven Universe. I don't ship any Steven/Gem ship, but I always have to laugh at "it's pedophilia because [Gem] is thousands of years old!" - Gems don't age like humans do. Spinel may be 8000 years old on paper, but in practice she behaves like an angry teen, far more immature than Steven. Context, people. It's not just a matter of simple math.

Back to Sonic, I always say that ages are more of a suggestion, and this is why I was not surprised when Sonic Channel took them down. Yes, Tails, Cream and Charmy are very obviously children, much younger than the rest of the cast, but the rest? Amy lives alone at 12, Rouge works under the President at 18, Silver and Blaze are both 14 even though they share a lil bro/big sis dynamic in '06, Sonic had a whole game revolved around his birthday and he never aged, and generally speaking, none of them behave their exact age and they're simply meant to be "young". If you see something weird in the idea of Sonic having feelings for Amy because he's 15 and she's 12, or in a relationship between 16 yo Knuckles and 18 yo Rouge because "he's a minor"... the problem is in you. Relax. These ships are older than most of the people on the Trio of Hellsites. We're not all degenerates.

As to why there's this huge focus on ages... it's a complicated matter, I think, but I suppose antis believe it's an easy way to catch "predators" in the act. Children are terrified of encountering bad people on line, and they got convinced that something as simple as your tastes in a ship says everything about your morals. Other people might explain this phenomenon in a more graceful manner than I could.

15. The Dragon Valkyrie

The newly recruited Black Bulls have their first mission... and it's not the one Ella had been expecting- and it most certainly went all kinds of wrong.

Warnings: Swearing, unedited, injuries- bruising, scratching, cuts, burns and dislocation

“Alright listen up shitheads.” Yami said as Ella, Asta, Yuno and Luck stood before him- the cheery berserker grinning the creepiest smile yet. “Julius has a mission for you lot but you’ll be teaming up with two Crimson Lions and two Golden Dawn.”

Ella blinked- okay this had to be the dungeon mission instead of the one at Sosshi. With a pause she rubbed at her wrists (it felt weird not having the weights on today) before looking up at Yami.

“Will we be meeting them before or at a location?” Ella questioned.

“At location. It’s a dungeon on the border of Clover and Diamond.” She nods- Asta and Yuno doing the same. “He just wants you to check it out- feel out any bandits and take them out if you can. Do not overdo it. If there is too many you bring your asses back here immediately. Understood?”

“Yes Captain Yami.” The group chime, Luck giggling as he did.

Finral moved from the dining room to where they were stood, opening a portal.

“I can’t send you all the way there because I haven’t travelled to the location before so this is the closest you’ll be.”

She remembers that it wasn’t a long walk, took maybe twenty minutes tops.

“I’m so excited.” Asta grinned, “What about you Ella?”

“Very.” She smiled back. “Yuno?... We all know Luck is excited.”

“Yes I ammmmmm.” Luck yelped as he practically dove through the portal.

“I can’t wait.” Yuno said quietly, also stepping through the portal- Asta hot on his tail.

“Be careful Ella.” Yami said, hand on her shoulder. She just grinned up at him and threw one of Vanessa and Charmy’s lollies in her mouth.

“Always.”

“Take this communicator with you.” Yami said. “Lyra will kill me if you die.”

“I won’t die.” She snorted, hip checking the Captain as she took the device from his hand before following through the portal, Alder slithering in behind her.

“You are such a dad.” She heard Finral say behind her- Yami’s swearing muted by the closing portal.

“I can see it from here- looks like the other squads are walking over as well.” Asta said- charging into the foliage with Luck.

“He has too much energy for me.” Yuno sighed as he and Ella began jogging down the hill and through the foliage to catch up with the two balls of energy- Alder following along.

Ella has never wanted to scoop anyone into a hug more than right now with Mimosa stood before her. Still as sweet and bubbly as ever- no she was not going to tear up right now.

“What is that?” One of the Crimson Lion knights asked, eyes wide as they pointed to the large water dragon.

“Oh this is my water spirit Alder. He’s friendly but quite protective.” Ella replied, scratching at the dragons nose as he waved his head as if to say hello. “I’m Ella by the way.”

“I’m Asta! This is my brother Yuno.” The anti-magic boy grinned, Yuno bowing as he did (it was still weird seeing him so… demure).

“And I’m Luck.” The blond giggled- his eyes only focused on the dungeon ahead.

“Hello.” Mimosa greeted, voice as soft as ever. “My name is Mimosa Vermillion, one of the newest recruits in the Golden Dawn, it’s lovely to meet you all.”

“And I am Klaus Lunettes.” Klaus didn’t even look the Black Bull’s way as he spoke.

“Name’s Nikolas.” The one from before greeted as they pulled their brown hair back into a ponytail. “This here is Dorien- he is mute so I will translate for him if none of you can sign.”

Dorien waved, a giant grin on his face as he signed something to Nikolas- who just laughed.

“He is wondering if he could pet Alder.”

“Oh of course you can.”

The boy strode forward, hand out as though letting a cat sniff his hand. Alder, however, thought he was too slow as slithered forwards, pressing his nose to the boy’s chest. Dorien laughed silently as he pet him.

“We should prepare to enter the dungeon. Make a plan-” Klaus began though Luck had already begun his stalk inside, the rest of the group now inching behind him. “-that will keep us safe… ugh commoners.”

“Watch it.” Ella snapped without thinking- Alder whipping his head towards the grey-haired man. She hadn’t meant too and sure it was hypocritical of her to say as she was still technically a princess albeit a missing one. “Right now this is a team- act like it.”

And maybe, just maybe she’s been spending too much time with Yami and Lyra as she glared at the taller mage and he almost- almost- shrank back on himself before scrunching up his nose and turning on his heel.

“A plan is a good idea.” Nikolas said, their tone much calmer than Ella’s had been. “But I think so long as we don’t split up we can make one as we go inside.”

“Luck come back here!” Asta called out making the lightning mage turn to look.

“What?” He asked. “I wanna see inside already. I can feel how strong the mana is from here”

“Just wait for us and then you can.” Yuno sighed. “What magic does everyone have? If one of us has any way to make a map or something that would be great.”

Ella shot a look at Mimosa a glance- one the royal caught and so she pretended to move her gaze around the group.

“Oh I can.” Mimosa said softly, still watching Ella before smiling at Asta and Yuno. “I have plant magic though I haven’t perfected the spell to where I will immediately have a lay out but I will be able to make a map as we go.”

“I have wind magic.” Yuno replied cooly.

“Fire- like most of us Crimson Lions… my flames can change colour though.” Nikolas laughed before translating Dorien’s sign. “Dorien has mist magic- be careful though he can make it thick enough to make breathing hard.”

“Steel magic.” Klaus says as he presses his glasses higher on his nose.

“Lightning!” Luck exclaimed, bounding forwards once more.

“I have water magic if you can’t tell.” Ella snorted, pointing to the leviathan slithering beside her.

“Woah everyone’s magic is so cool.” Asta beamed. “I have no magic-”

“Anti-magic.” Ella and Yuno said in unison.

“Okay yeah anti-magic. I can… what was the word Yami used? Negate spells and also bounce them back?”

“That sounds so cool though.” Nikolas beamed back at Asta. “I’m with Asta all our magic is awesome.”

The small group just chuckled and finally braved the dungeon entrance.

Ella felt upside down, inside out and right side everything as they stalked through the dungeon. Stairs were sideways, upside down and flowing with mana in every direction and traps were most definitely everywhere.

Luck was already off, following what he said was a strange feeling mana, leaving the rest of the group to wander through carefully with Ella doing her best to spy traps.

Remember what Yami said, mana when natural flows like a wave just as ki does from a person. So she side stepped and spun around strange looking stone on the floor- the group following suit as they reached a hallway… a hallway that felt stagnant and wrong- so she turned them away.

“Let’s not go that way.” She stated, turning towards the next hallway with a pointed glance towards the still muttering Klaus. Commoner this, noble that- shut the fuck up man.

Following the new hallway she found the mana flowing like water, it felt like a waterfall cascading over her. Gods she doesn’t remember there being so much mana in this dungeon- she sighs, another point to add to the list of changes she supposes. Pausing Ella spared a glance at Asta- something felt wrong again as they stepped into a large and very open room where they somehow managed to find Luck bouncing around happily- a mountain of treasures pressed against the back wall. She drew Gloaming slowly, Asta doing the same with Demon Slayer.

“What are you doing?” Nikolas asked quietly, hands glowing a soft amber as they let flames flow into their hands.

“Something is wrong in here.” She answered. “The mana doesn’t feel right and those traps to the far left are manmade.”

Natural mana made traps felt like a wave but manmade ones… felt like cold stone.

Something is wrong.

“Oh.” Mimosa nearly whimpered as the group began to spread thin, avoiding the strange markings Klaus had pointed out on the floor. “My guidepost is picking up movement to the righ-”

Ella whirled around just as Mimosa yelped.

“Well, well what do we have here?” A slimy, sickening voice questioned. He had one hand around Mimosa’s throat and another unnervingly high on her abdomen and still climbing. “Some little knights playing the big leagues. Split ‘em.”

Next thing Ella knew she was across the room- Alder far from her and the others equally as spread around- even Luck seemed to be in an all-new location high above them. She was smart enough and quick enough to grasp the communicator Yami had given her- to sound the alert on the small device as she tried to calm her racing heart. She said nothing, just let the thing wail some annoying siren as she turned back to the chaos.

Ella’s eyes were only focused on her cousin, on Mimosa as the slimy piece of shit’s hands began to wander more. Pezzottaite eyes snapped towards a familiar looking sword amongst the Yul beside her- Demon Dweller.

She lunged for it just as a new figure appeared behind her, barely missing her Black Bulls cloak as his hand enveloped in stone. That, she concluded, would have fucking hurt had she stood still.

The man was towering and had no problems lurching forwards again as she rolled grasped Demon Dweller and with all her might swung it and Gloaming at the man.

Thank Gods for Elvish steel as the man’s hand flew clean off- still in stone form. It was comical really the way his eyes widened, the way he stumbled backwards and just… stared at it. She needed to run, to get away before the shock of what she did settled. Ella pushed forwards again, once more thanking the Gods as she reached Yuno, Asta and Dorien.

“Asta!” She called, swinging the worn looking blade his way. “Catch!”

She hadn’t spared a glance as she darted across the room again, dodging ice spikes as they sprung from the ground.

Hah… maybe she should spar with Luck if being this fast after wearing weights for years felt so good.

“Keep the girls as unharmed as possible.” A new voice called from atop the treasure- a man covered in diamond. “They’ll sell a pretty price. Good thing that Wizard King of yours sent us some prizes for such a quest. Pity the man’s too stupid to see a trap when it’s set.”

Ella flung backwards as a wall of wind pushed her away from Mimosa- who was fighting and kicking her way out of the slimy man’s hold. It pushed her back, rolling her into another pile of treasure, a sharp sting above her brow barely registered as Pezzottaite eyes scanned the area, watching while the boys fought a smaller group of the… bandits? Rogues? Who knew what these assholes were. She sucked in a breath as she rose- the same way she has seen Yami do as she falls into position with Gloaming ready to strike. She could see Alder from here now, with Klaus and Nikolas rushing across the room to the others- could see Luck having the time of his life fighting dozens of men above.

“Argh!” Ella’s focus was back on Mimosa and it was like everything slowed down. She wasn’t Ella in the seconds the came, she was Noelle Silva coming to protect her cousin from the slimy asshole who was now gripping her right arm tight, flames licking at her skin. She hardly felt the pain in her shoulder as she flung her arm back- Noelle who had runaway to become stronger. Noelle who wanted nothing more than a loving and caring family. Noelle who’s grimoire began to glow as she raced forwards, who’s newest spell was one she had been impatiently waiting for the second her grimoire came to life.

Sea Dragon’s Roar.

Then everything went black.

Yami had been drinking with Jack when the communicator he’d had clipped to his belt began to wail. Had it been any other day he probably would have answered it like a regular person instead of rushing out the door- Jack hot on his heels without question as he called for Finral.

“Yes Yami?” Finral barely had a moment to breathe before he was pulled back by his shirt.

“Get us to that dungeon. NOW!” The former noble was quick to summon his magic- looking through to see the same location he had dropped the others off before looking back at Yami. “Finral contact the Wizard King tell something happened- that Jack and I are dealing with it and then you come back and you wait by the dungeon entrance.”

“Yes Yami sir.”

“Keke, what’s happening Yami?” The Green Mantis Captain asked, though not really questioning why they were rushing off.

“The kids are in trouble at the dungeon. Ella hasn’t spoken just let it ring out- means it’s bad. Shit.” Yami and Jack were off through the portal, racing down the hill towards the dungeon’s door. (He hadn’t even taken into account that Jack never actually met the brat but definitely knew all about her- he’s not a dad!)

“Well then let us do as Captain’s do best Keke.” Jack laughed. “Save our brat’s asses.”

They could hear fighting, screaming and the tell-tale roar of Alder as the two Captain’s raced passed traps and hallways- Yami following the strong ki that belonged to his kids.

Yami Sukehiro almost froze in place, almost stumbled as they found the room with the kids. Alder was amidst snapping at a number of rogues away from two Crimson Lion’s- one with blonde hair silently screaming in pain as he grabbed his bent (most likely broken) leg. Asta and Yuno were faring better- slashing and striking at injured and water-soaked rogues who just kept getting up. Four eyes from the Golden Dawn had managed to capture a number of them in his magic while… where was Ella and the other Golden Dawn knight?

“What is that?” Jack asked, pointing towards the large water leviathan racing towards them- squawking as it did. Why was Alder coming their way. The two Captain’s continued forwards- eye darting around the room and just as Jack was readying to slash at Alder Yami halted him.

“Alder is Ella’s water spirit- do not slash him…” Jack only grunted and looked to the right of them where a loud crashing sound echoed before jerking his head upwards towards a man made of diamond.

“Captain Yami!” Asta called as a wave of magic made its way through the room, nearly knocking him back- he pointed the same way Jack had been looking. “Ella and Mimosa are over that way!”

“Some creepy perv has Mimosa.” The brunette Crimson Lion supplied now sending their own surge of magic towards the rogues. “Ella seemed pretty pissed about it.”

The ground began to shake, water welling up on the ground beneath them before rushing away again, the two Captain’s nodded as though they could read each other’s mind.

“You take diamond ass I’ll get the girls.” Yami stated, dashing off towards the crashing sound- the boys nearly finished dealing with the rogues around them. Alder slithered forwards head dipping down, nearly knocking the Black Bull’s Captain over as he landed on the beast’s back- it was too quick for him to think before Alder shot off again… towards a much larger version of him blasting away a weirdly oily looking man.

In any case Yami wasn’t even thinking now (and hadn’t been since he got the alert)- far too focused on the tsunami of raw mana coming from Ella as her sword arm hung limply at her side, Gloaming clattering on the ground while the large water beast took another strike at the man before dissolving into nothing but a small wave on the ground.

Alder moved faster, hurling Yami forwards with a flick of his body until he landed with a thud before the soaking wet- and thankfully unconscious man. His eyes darted towards the Golden Dawn girl, Mimosa the Crimson Lion kid had said, her left arm was burnt and her other was wrapped around her waist- her face was green as she stared down at the incapacitated man before snapping her attention towards Ella… who didn’t look like she was in the room… who’s hair was looking a little grey instead of brown in the dim light.

A crashing behind them told Yami enough- Jack had taken care of the mess behind them along with the other knights.

“Ella?” Mimosa stumbled forwards- unburnt hand grasping the non-limp arm. Yami strode forward too.

“Brat?” Yami knelt before them both, a million thoughts all at once rushing through his mind as the girl stared at the spot where the water dragon had been- even when Alder pressed his snout to her back she remained unmoving, paling slowly- like colour was being leached from her. Yami frowned as he spied a cut across her forehead (she could have hit her head for all he knew), eyed the unnatural slope of her right shoulder- shock… for some reason she was in shock either from the pain or anger or even the new spell she managed to conjure… her hair was turning silver again- that dye she had stopped using not even a fortnight ago no longer hid her roots though the rest of her hair was still a pale (and washed out) brown. Granted once she had started using the snack Vanessa and Charmy had made for Ella it took place in hiding the colour she seemed to hate.

Silvery white…

He shook his head, grabbing Ella’s face in his hands and turning her towards him.

“Snap out of it.” He commanded. “You’re a Black Bull, you’re a pain in my ass but you’re strong Ella so. snap. out. of. it.”

She blinked, finally, after what seemed like minutes she sucked in a breath.

“What happened?” She looked far too surprised for his liking. “I remember a wall of air hitting me and then running towards Mimosa… a new spell… when did you get here?”

Shit. She had blacked out. Why though… what made that happen? Yami didn’t really need to be asking these questions right now, he needed to get these kids out of the dungeon- to take them to Owen.

“You used the communicator to alert me- Jack and I got here as quick as we could. Not like you really needed us, you all took care of the rogues without us and from the sounds of his kekeing I’d say he took out diamond ass.”

“Is everyone alri-” She hissed as she tried to spin towards the others, her good hand flying to her sword arm that was limp at her side. “My sword arm- shit.”

He nearly laughed at the pout on her face and the soft curse before his eyes darted to her hair again- he leant forward and whispered (because he’s certain she doesn’t want anyone else to see the hair she hates).

“Got any more of those dye snacks you’re looking a little… pale.” Her eyes widened as she released her arm- wincing in pain as she did- hand darting to the small pouch on her side to grab what looked like one of those red and white mints. Tossing it into her mouth he watched in silent approval as the small thing worked its magic- her hair now that familiar golden brown again.

“Ella?” Mimosa tried again, eyes wide with worry- Ella’s were too and yet different. It was the kind of look you gave to someone you cared about deeply (he should know- it’s the same look he always gave his little sister), he filed that thought away for later. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine- are you?” She sounded frantic, she sounded normal- good… they could do with normal right now. “Can I touch you?”

He’s certain it wasn’t only his head that snapped back towards the two girls at that question.

“Keke… what did that creep do?” Yami refrained from elbowing the tall man now leaning over them. “I’ll slice him.”

“No-nothing!” Mimosa exclaimed, face flamed a bright red.

“Tell that to the burnt arm.” The brunette Crimson Lion said. “Klaus is using his magic to restrain all the rogues… bandits? Whatever they are- and Captain Jack took out the diamond guy.”

Mimosa stared at the ground, unburnt hand clasped in Ella’s uninjured hand- her burnt arm however was glowing a soft green.

“He grabbed me and tried to… touch me I guess. He didn’t though I fought him off even used my plant magic to restrain him before he grabbed my arm and did this- then Ella used a spell that did that to him.” She nodded towards the unconscious buffoon.

Yami sighed and stood, surveying the room and restrained assholes that he and Jack didn’t really need to help the kids deal with. Sighing again he looked between the kids and Jack who was staring at the slimy man- yeah the tall bastard could have him.

“We need to get you out of here- Julius can send people to scavenge through this shit, you all need a healer and neither Jack or I brought supplies. Let’s get out and go to Finral who should be at the entrance and get you all to Owen.”

It was disturbing having no memory of a small moment in time- especially for a person who remembers a different life, a different time. She genuinely only remembers feeling so angry, so vengeful as she rushed to help Mimosa, who truthfully could have handled herself even with an injured arm.

Arm.

She managed to fucking dislocate her arm and exhaust herself using Sea Dragon’s Roar, that had never happened in her last life.

Ella had barely registered reaching Finral before they were teleported right into Owen’s office where a bit was shoved in her mouth and her right shoulder reset- and maybe it was the shock, pain she had yet to register finally coming through but FUCK that hurt. Her forehead cut had just been given some salve and told it would heal in a day or two- but OW her arm.

Mimosa had her arm bandaged with Owen praising her healing (as he should she almost huffed in pride). Asta and Yuno only had a few bruises and scratches easily mended by bandages and some salve, Klaus (who she was still pissed with for his prattling about commoners even though he seemed to think she hadn’t heard it) was practically untouched aside a bruise or two and Nikolas had a newly healed (by Owen) scar, that had been a deep slice, down his back. Dorien was probably in the worst shape, a broken leg in two places from one of the rouges slamming iron straight into it- but otherwise also bruises and scratches.

A knock had heads turn towards the door- Marx sticking his head through to let them know that Julius would like to see them all. Yami grunted- Jack having left long ago- and scanned each and every one of them.

“Alright… let’s do this shit.” Ella could only smile weakly at her Captain.

Shit… she hadn’t told him that the rouges had said it was a trap yet.

Charmies can be delusional for all I care but the way timothée can't do anything without it being PR/him being a sellout, etc is really annoying. The other dude can go and be with multiple other women, do drugs, curse ppl out etc and it's whatever to them. How did they all just come to be timothée antis. That's the worst thing about that ship for me, they hate on timothée any chance they get and won't leave him alone

Black Clover ch369

Ah, finally back after a handful of months and what a lovely double spread to come back to. I know a lot has already happened within the capital courtesy of Lucius' judgement day, with him and the paladins causing chaos for the magic knight squads, but it feels like we're finally entering the second phase of the battle with Asta and the rest of the Black Bulls making their grand entrance. Thankfully we don't waste much time jumping right back into the action either.

We do get a quick little flashback of everyone first experiencing Asta's anti-magic and learning about Ichika, but I got no complaints since it's been so long and I missed seeing the squad.

As expected, Luck is gonna have the time of his life with all this extra power. Ichika explains that the upgrade isn't infinite but with how quick Luck works, he's certainly gonna make the most of it even if limited to only a couple attacks.

I'm so glad Magna is able to pull off his chains again and work it twice as well as last time, now connecting to four total people instead of just two.

They way they're both constantly competing with and supporting each other to become stronger never gets olds. Their attacks might not pack a punch on their own against Lucius, but with the amount of speed and sheer determination behind each hit, the boys are jamming up Lucius' concentration to the point where he can't regenerate quick enough thanks to the anti-magic.

What a fantastic callback to their epic fight with Vetto by pulling off this combination attack once more, just newly improved and far more effective.

It's great they were capable of knocking out one of Lucius' clones, but there's still quite a few remaining. I pray the rest of the squad can work just as quickly and efficiently as this duo did. Also hoping no harm comes to them for the remainder of the battle since it seems their anti-magic buff is already wearing off.

As for the rest of the Black Bulls, I got no doubt that Gauche, Grey and Gordon are probably gonna team up. Who might they assist? I'm not sure. Originally, I figured Luck & Magna would help out the Vermillions since they got similar magic and the wild battle attitude, but who knows now. They could still head over there, sure, but not sure how helpful they'll be without the anti-magic. Maybe the three G's could assist the Crimson Lions since they're up against Morris? Gordon & Gauche are clever lads, perhaps they can come up with some plan to outsmart the dude. I also believe Vanessa & Charmy are gonna pair up, or at least they should so Rogue never runs out of energy. It's a personal wish, but I'd want them to go help out Noelle. I know she already has Kahono & Kiato nearby, but still, it would do good for Acier to see at least some of Noelle's found family show up and provide support to her daughter when her actual family is all beaten up (though I do want Nozel to get back up and have a special moment with mom too. would be great if the other two siblings stepped up as well of course.) Um, who else is there.. Finral. He might go to the Golden Dawn or wherever Langris is. Zora I'd want to head over to the Purple Orcas actually, only if Zara ends up being reincarnated as well. Henry and Secre.. I dunno where they could end up, honestly. But enough rambling on for now. We'll wait and see, eventually, whenever the next chapter releases.

I managed to miss all new drama last days and don't even know who started that but I have honest questions: 1) Who needs this new drama and stirring unnecessary shit (like we don't have enough dramas last months) and who again need to push gossips through anties anons that A really fucks every one whore in our galactic sector and T fucks with every "model" but takes benefits from every power HW man at the same time. 🤦‍♀️ Oh, and of course they haven't spoken in yearrrrrrrrs, didn't interacted at all, never even met each other - that's all was only a collective fever dream 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2) I don't know if these persons really believe what they transmite (seriously, you don't need any antis with these "charmie" then) and really think that any person from "inner circle" has equal access to ALL details of boys private life and ready so easily disclose any REAL personal info to the new completely unknown people (or, for that matter, to any fans at all now - after all shit that happened to Armie ffs! 🙄). Which is yuck. Or they just want an attention and take a vacant "I know things" place in fandom after many old charmies went silent (to NOT disclose any private info among others reasons) and/or provoke them to refutate with that info. So i was watching a random christmas movie, and this headcanon came to my mind out of nowhere and now i can’t stop thinking about it.

Yami in each christmas, without failure, get the black bulls a single small present for each person. And now that Nacht came back, Yami drags Nacht to the stores to buy the gifts with him.

I just what to hear what u think about this headcanon. Bc i love the way you portray the black bulls.

I'd add some of my thoughts:

yami doesn't know how to pick a proper present to save his life; think of things like asta with a shirt double his size it could fit him and liebe together, henry with a hairbrush that is clearly made for dogs, or luck with crayons he used to paint everyone's faces like a feisty jigglypuff.

most of the time he just buys the gifts from cheap, two dollar, stores, but there are a couple of years where he gets creative and in mood of chrismats, so he personally makes or crafts the gifts; think of charmy with a wooden box she can either use to gather fruits or a seat while someone carries her, nero with a comfy & warm birdhouse, or gordon with a straw hat to protect him from the sunlight.

nacht only agreed to tag along so he can buy a "1# best son" cup for asta with matched "1# best mom" for himself, he still gets a few fancy presents for the rest of the squad because he's inherited a shit ton of money that he never used before, and now the bulls will always get two presents every chrismats, one is the cheapest shit ever while the other is the fanciest shit ever.

mind you nacht also doesn't know how to pick a proper present to save his life; think of grey with a pair of expensive shoes that aren't even her size, vanessa with a perfume that makes her sneeze like a madwoman, or gauche and zora with two matched ugly chrismats sweaters that may or may not be given to them on purpose.

he still has some good gifts though; think of magna with brand new sunglasses, noelle with stuffed anti-birds, or finral with paid vacation tickets for him and his fiancée.

Recently, it's been a year since I joined the Charmie fandom and today I feel like saying how much I love Charmies. I am happy to be among you and I am proud of you. I'm lucky to be able to share my love for Armie and Timmy with people who feel the same way. I want to thank each of you who still believes in this beautiful love, who supports the boys, who makes wonderful art/edits, who writes increadible fanfics, who gives wise opinions, who sees signs, who brings news... I really appreciate it. Despite the negativity from antis, this ship continues to sail forward, overcoming all difficulties. I wish I joined the fandom in 2018 and witnessed some unforgetable Charmie moments, but I truly believe that the best is yet to come. I believe that together we will see new happy events in lives of our boys. I believe that we will celebrate Armie's return together. I believe that the Universe is on the side of our boys, because their love is pure and genuine.

Been thinking about my AUs and realizing I never posted any notes about them. So they're either going to be lost in the void that is my mind or I wont be able to explain it well.

So. Here are some things:

Because Sonic and Sally had kids in the Archie comics, it might be that Sonic is male. But nowadays the promotional art seems to imply him to be trans (and with Surge being female... Yeah.) Do! Id likr yo make the headcanon: Archie Sonic and all his counterparts (scourge. Zonic. Etc etc etc) are cis male. IDW sonic however is trans male.

But this au I'll be combining a. LOT. Of things. So all of those Sonics will become trans male.

And speaking of other versions of characters... In No Zone we were shown Zonics coworkers, Zespio and Zector... Which leads me to wonder what the anti Espio and Anti Vector would be. Anti Espio wouldbmost likely come from a ninja clan that focuses more on assassination than Intel. And Anti Vector woukd most likely be... Well, one thing comes to mind. Piercings. Just... Leather and spike wearing punk. Theyd probably kidnapped the prince Charmy but he was so young that his wasp like kingdom would have been possibly wiped out due to threats (maybe Anto Jules tried to wipe out the people who didn't accept hid "peaceful ways" and hired people to cause "accidents) anyway. The anti Chaotix were formed once the two older Moebians witnessed anti charmy trying to copy their violent habits like trying to drink somrthing near Anti Vector.... He was then adopted! After all, they couldnt get their ransom money from a civilization wiped out.

We also got characters in the Anti verse that we havent seen Zone cops of. Like Rosy/Amy and that Skunk backstabber MgGee. The latter one was probably known for doing his job effectively... Even if he was a twisted cop. Zamy tho? .... I can kinda see Zonic and her half joke-flirting because she is the ONLY organized person on the team. She admires Zonic but in much more of a respecting superior worker way. Their characters seem far more professional. As for Alicia/Sally... Zally i can kinda see as one of those captains that look over the elite Zone Cops. And, again, their relationship with Zonic is purely platonic. There is no room for romance for them. (Which leads me to wonder how anyone is birthed... The heckin?) I haven't researched enough about the Freedom Fighters to give everyone Zone Cop counterparts.

We see Gimodelo’s shadow, and chibi Plumede; there’s now a framed picture of Nacht. Don’t touch anything yet.

Maybe it’s nothing, but I’ll note which pieces of dialogue got blacked out.

Vanessa’s line in the official translation “I’ll pull!! Just trust me and go!!” Specifically the word “I” is streaked out.

Asta’s dialogue was “We haven’t… given up yet!!!” The smeared speech bubble is the part that contained the words “not given up yet” but the other speech bubble with “we” remains.

Noelle’s was “Because I’ve been acknowledge by much greater people!!” The damaged speech bubble, that looks kinda like a burn stain, is the “because (I) was acknowledged” part. The other bubble that contains “by much greater people” remains.

Finral says “I’ll make the Black Bulls the strongest brigade!!” Finral uses the word オレ (ore) as his first person pronoun; half of it is missing. The verb that, in this case, was translated as “make” appears damaged.

Charmy’s speech bubble says “Asta” and his name is still visible.

Although the word Friendship is damaged, the kanji for “bonds” under it is untouched.

Chibi Walgner is here. In this panel, Noelle begins with “I am Noelle Silva of the Black Bulls!!” and the following speech bubble where she says “How DARE you hurt my friends and companions?!!” has a claw mark over it.

Now here’s chibi Gimodelo. Yami’s and Vangeance’s pictures are missing too.

Nozel says “I am the one who will become the wizard king.” The word “wizard king” is torn.

This is the panel where Charlotte said “I don’t need one. The battlefield is my lover.” The speech bubble that had “The battlefield is my lover” is missing.

It’s the thought bubble about Dorothy, “The real one’s incredibly chipper!!” that’s damaged. The word “real one” has a tear go through it.

Julius said “See how it feels to live in one unending moment.” The bubble that says “one unending moment” remains, so I guess you could say the “see how it feels to live” is partially torn. The word he used there 味わう (ajiwau) can mean “to taste, to savor; to appreciate, to enjoy; to experience, to go through” hmm…

Wait, but what were Yami and Vangeance saying in their frames?

Well, Yami was saying what you’d expect: “Surpass your limits. Right here. Right now. There’s no other way.”

Vangeance, “The time is at hand. Now the great tree will bloom!”

Chibi Slotos is here. The word that’s burned is 勝負 (shoubu) which means “competition” and “victory or defeat.” The missing kanji specifically means “victory, win” and the remaing one means “defeat, lose.” If you keep going, you’ll find that even the intro page of last year’s exhibit has a tear in it...

I found this anon submission from an anti-Larry Harry stan blog, how do you think it relates to Charmie?

"I’ve said this from the beginning, not ALL Larries, but most of them, are Larries because they desire one of them (mostly Harry, but I do believe Amy for instance desires Louis). And they project those desires on Louis (or Amy on Harry).

Louis is a safe blank canvas they can project on. Empty because they erase everything about him and refuse to believe it, not because he’s actually blank.

We don’t like your girlfriend or your son, or that you smoke, or that you’re “a lad”, we’re gonna reframe your disinterest for fashion into “being into street fashion and being so good at it”. Obviously deep down he loves pink and glitter and he’s so soft and he’s great with kids, and you know, he’s a comrade. He’s the bottom, he’s so much smaller than Harry. And he’s all curvy. And he’s woke! He’s just not allowed to say much. Because Louis is them: a heterosexual normal woman, not a rich famous man.

Similarly, Harry is the object of their desires, and despite what we see, he’s privately devoted to them Louis. The only one who deserves Harry is Louis 💚💙💚💙💚💙

But Harry is allowed to be flawed because he’s not a projection of them, so they can call him out, they can be mad at him. He’s not their avatar so they either believe he’s being held hostage or they grow resentful of him for abandoning them Louis

It’s why their fanfiction is told from Louis’ pov almost exclusive. Think about the pervasive trope that Harry is in 1D/famous but Louis is a fan/a single dad/a normal person who happens to meet him and Harry flips his life around for them Louis.

As someone who has read Larry and “het” fan fiction… if I switched pronouns on a lot of them you wouldn’t know which one is which. Louis is Y/N for those who think Y/N is cringe and that they’re better than self inserting fans.

The worst offender of this is [redacted Larry blog name]. She’s obsessed with Harry being “beefy” and Louis being “tiny” at first I thought it was just good ol fetishization (and there’s a hefty amount of that too don’t get me wrong) but it’s mostly her wanting to thirst over Harry on main, while maintaining her sense of superiority over Not Being Like Other Girls. This becomes glaringly obvious once you learn she’s self professed straight.

And these people, once Larry becomes to ridiculous to believe… what do they turn to? Acting like Harry’s exes.

To the degree of acting like they not only know for a fact that they were in a relationship, but also that they broke up, when they broke up, and who broke up with who (obviously Louis broke up with Harry because duh that way Louis wins the breakup)

And now Harry is with Olivia, and there isn’t really a reason for them to believe it’s PR anymore, or to be desperate to prove they ain’t fucking, but they can’t have Harry be happy with someone who isn’t Louis, right? Especially since they haven’t found someone else for Louis to actually be happy with (they concocted an invisible boyfriend called Mr. Oxfordshire but since there’s no one they can pin that man on in real life, it all sounds a lot like a Hallmark movie and how the main female character wants to one up her ex by showing up with a new boyfriend at the Thanksgiving dinner they so awkwardly have to both attend). So Harry and Olivia’s relationship is PR but he also slept with her to get a job and she’s using him and terrible and he’s miserable because he still misses Louis.

I think Timothee was the original projection because we knew so little about him (he was an empty canvas) however after the CMBYN press-tour Charmies began to vilify him once his relationship became public and his natural personality differs greatly from the fanon version of him. He really is a regular ass guy in many attributes. (sidenote: I personally never understood outside from his pretty facial features, red carpet fashion, and open-mindness that anyone would view him as queer-coded - his role as Elio was superimposed onto his real identity from the start). They started to comment about him in the same tone someone shames a women (i.e. misogyny undertones). The only difference I can find is the Armie is both their CLEAR object of attraction (like Harry is in Larry) and the sympathetic person in the ship. Timothee is held to an impossible standard while Armie is free from any/all blame (in the most extreme circumstances).

I have a chat group of fandom pals and we discuss this sort of thing nearly daily. None of us were ever involved in 1D fandom (though I've been a fan of Harry since those days, I was never a shipper of any sort) but it's hard to miss seeing or hearing about a lot of it by accident. We are constantly amazed how both ships- Larrie and Charmie- are carbon copies of one another. They use the same verbiage, they both vilify collateral women, it's just so weird. The message you relay here could easily find Tim subbed for Harry and Armie for Louis and you wouldn't know the difference. It's interesting how Tim and Harry are more famous and beloved, but become the obstacle while Armie and Louis are the poor put-upon partner that deserves better.

There really should be some sort of scientific study done on this phenomenon.
