#anyone else think this would make a good episode - if they rebooted the supershow?

got an idea i can’t get out of my head.
there’s a dangerous enemy looking to destroy the entire universe, slowly taking out the surrounding kingdoms one at a time (like the void in spm). for specific reasons, mario and peach are sent out to go look look for a way to stop the threat, leaving luigi in charge of the mk.
mário and peach go mia and are presumed dead. this leaves the mk without an official leader. in my head mario and peach are married, making mario and luigi royalty through that association (it could work differently without needing the marriage idk, but it’s a magical universe só accuracy isn’t a big priority). the toads hastily crown luigi as their ruler as a way to keep some form of control during dire times.
as for the other kingdoms: their lands were destroyed and the monarchs and survivors have been seeking refuge in neighboring lands. the mk is the sole kingdom still standing, so they all go there. none of them had heard of mario and peach’s disappearance, and are very shocked to see luigi on that throne.
cue luigi proving to everyone that he can be an intelligent and competent leader (i believe this man is a damn good strategist) and gaining lots of respect. there could be a few battles, and while many of the other rules have seen him fight, he absolutely demolishes the enemies—he’s still very raw from losing two of the most important people in his life and he’s taking it out here.
there could also be a b-plot of a handful of rulers (bowser, daisy, peasley, king boo) lowkey vying for his hand. lots of shenanigans there.
then during the final battle mario and peach do return, emotional reunion, they save the world, everyone recovers. and ending on luigi throwing the crown back to peach because he simply was not made for ruling—though everyone would say otherwise.
This is a really good idea! And there's so much stuff to sink your teeth into.
If you want to write or draw this anon, I say go for it! This idea really feels like it has a lot of potential in my opinion 👍
And yes you are right: Luigi is the more rational minded of the Bros, so no doubt he can be a good strategist! My headcanon (mostly from watching the movie version) is that he's normally too shy and quiet to voice any leadership skills - but when times are desperate he pushes that to the side and is able to speak up.
