I guess I can see how it could be painful to be rejected like that based on your appearance. To feel like you're scaring others away if you don't conform to the norm with a human shape that gives off a vibe of normalcy. But is that better than to hide away your own pain and reject a part of yourself you seemingly, from what I can see, want to set it free? Those who do care about you aren't going to mind about you not conforming to humanity for as long as you're happy. Those who do don't matter.
He just sadly shakes his head.

“i appreciate it. but it jus’ ain’ worth it. again, if me bein’ comfortable results in other people gettin’ ‘urt or bein’ scared or bein’ in danger, then i don’ want it. bein’ ‘uman ain’ that bad anyway. it’s a compromise i can get be’ind. don’t worry so much. this’ll be over b’fore ya know it an’ we’ll be back to normal. back to our regularly scheduled programmin’.”
