i'm sorry but i refuse to view kids being weird about sex as an actual societal issue. like the whole "puriteen" bit i've seen around here, i really don't think it's that big of a problem or that deep, teenagers are gonna have weird opinions about sex and sexuality because on the whole it's new and intimidating and complicated to them. + teenagers really do not hold that much societal power and it's batshit to imply or outright state that the recent wave of conservative outcry and legislation against lgbt folks and sexual expression is like, the fault of teenagers who don't like bdsm or think puppy play is weird.

#generally speaking i think kids having half-baked opinions about anything is not rlly that deep or bad #obviously that doesn't extend to like. genuine bigotry. things that actually hurt people esp other kids #but shit like teens not having a good grasp on social justice related topics is... fine..?#you're kinda supposed to be stupid as a kid/young adult. i'm kinda stupid still and i'll be 20 in a little less than a year.#also like yes some of it very much does come from purity culture and shit like that #but for one the main person hurt by a a teen who's internalized a negative view of sex is that teen themself #and for two even in a perfect world i think teenagers would still have poorly developed opinions abt sex. they probably Should to be frank #anyway ik i'm technically A Teenager myself but i'm more thinking of like. 15-16 year olds.#tho all of it still applies to people my age and honestly probably even older.
