it turns out it only takes 4 weeks of sending someone a pun every single night before they inquire about your mental health
#melon rambles#an irl friend of mine is having a rough time especially at work so I (not knowing how to comfort people) was like 'would a daily pun help?'#and he was like '...if you have them sure?'#so I've been sending him a pun almost every night (missed a few nights but shhh) and he loves them or at least says he does#but tonight I hit him with a double whammy (he replied to my pun and I replied to his reply with another pun) and then he was like#'are you doing okay?'#and then I was like oh crap he's onto me#he's incredibly observant whenever we talked face to face I don't know why I thought that didn't apply to text#maybe he just sensed that it had been too long since I'd panic texted him at midnight about my life falling apart and that I was trying to#deal with things on my own rather than ask for help#which would have been a fair assumption seeing as that's more or less what I did#anyways I feel like I need some kind of emotional vulnerability badge or gold star or something for like fully explaining what's been#bothering me#Fifteen year old me could never. I'm doing so good. My therapist is going to be proud.
