About cooking and learning

Recently I came across a couple of Julia Child's videos.

As a person who loves cooking, I always try to improve myself and learn new things. But on that front, just following a recipe Is Not Enough.

The author might presume that you already know certain things, either about the technique or that particular food.

And that is the greatness of Julia Child. She does not merely give you a list of ingredients and the order in which combine them, she EXPLAINS why she Is doing things that way, with a very funny yet witty style.

I learned more things from her in one lesson than, say, 8 editions of Masterchef...which I know It's not a TV program with teaching in mind but Still...
