Sorry for the sad words, but after seeing the leaks for part 3, watching the video of the premiere date for part 3 of the sixth season didn't make me excited, not even that incredible blow from Robby on Axel. The video tries to convey the idea that Robby will have a good, satisfying and coherent ending, but anyone who has seen the leaks knows that is not the case. It's very unfair that the script always creates something (loss of focus or injuries) to prevent Robby from winning a tournament so that another fighter can win.

Terry McCain x Daniel x Terry Silver AU - Part 2
It’s been three months since Daniel showed up at Terry’s doorstop, bloodied and bruised; since Terry took him in from the cold streets. Terry had decided that very night that the city was no place for an 18-year old like Daniel LaRusso to be on his own, with a pretty face like that, and without a penny or friend to his name.
The first thing Terry had done, at the boy’s earnest request, was help Daniel find part-time work. “I know a thing or two about earning my keep,” he had said before listing off his odd collection of skills and talents and experience, including “business management,” car mechanic apprentice, karate tournament champion, and dance. Terry was charmed, and he knew just the place for Daniel. That’s how Daniel found himself mopping floors, wiping tables, and washing dishes downstairs at the Deja vu. Daniel and Jake, owner of the bar and Terry’s good friend, had taken to each other like fish to water. Jake had at first teased Terry about the “stray” he had taken in, but after meeting Daniel himself, Jake understood. Not even the old man was immune to Daniel LaRusso’s charms. He still cheekily refers to Daniel as Terry’s “stray” when Daniel is not around though.
As for himself, Terry can’t pinpoint exactly when he and his “stray” started becoming so close, but these days he’s spending almost all his free time with Daniel. They frequent the Music Box theater in Lakeview to watch old films. And Terry considers it a win when he manages to drag Daniel to the boxing gym. Daniel rarely steps into the ring with him, but he seems to enjoy just watching Terry well enough. Terry, for his part, greatly enjoys showing off for Daniel. And the evenings at the Deja vu when Terry joins the band on the piano and Daniel lights up the dance floor are the best nights of the week.
Still. Terry senses a wall around Daniel. He quietly wonders why Daniel doesn’t call him by his first name. At first, Daniel insisted on calling Terry “mister McCain” or “detective McCain.” Terry eventually convinced him to drop the stiff labels and now Daniel simply calls him “McCain.” Terry also learns Daniel doesn’t like Terry to call him “Danny.” He accidentally discovered this when he came home one evening, a little drunk, cheerfully belting mournful verses at Daniel from a familiar song bearing his name. To his astonishment, Daniel looked back at him with a stricken expression.
“It’s just... it’s that name. Danny. Danny boy. Someone I knew called me that, and-. Never mind, sorry, it’s stupid. I, uh, hey, you didn’t tell me you could sing.”
That particular incident took Terry back to Daniel’s first few days with him. Daniel had been highly skittish and on edge around Terry. During that time, Daniel could barely meet Terry’s eyes. Terry didn’t think much of it. He was a stranger to Daniel, and Daniel had just been through a lot. But now he wonders if there’s something else going on. There are still moments, like that “Danny” incident, when Daniel behaves oddly around him. Moments when Daniel shivers from Terry’s casual touch. When he startles at Terry like a deer caught in headlights. When he looks everywhere but at Terry. Or when Daniel’s eyes linger on him like he’s trying to figure something out, small frown on his face and crooked bunny-teeth chewing on his nails.
It doesn’t sit right with Terry, that he’s inadvertently doing or saying something to make Daniel feel... what, exactly? He doesn’t know, but it burns at something in his chest when Daniel looks at him like he’s seeing someone else. Terry can’t explain it to himself, but he wants nothing more than for Daniel to feel safe and happy with him. But how is Terry supposed to do that when sometimes he can’t help but feel that Daniel is not really with him at all?

I think I kind of get something but it’s still sort of vague. So sometimes there’s monsters/creatures/beings in different lore, like Atlas who want someone else to take over their mantle and are looking for someone else to do it.
And it’s fascinating to watch villains do this. Legacy or passing on their job to someone else. Corrupting good. Like sometimes they have a point, and if you tilt your head enough you get it. But sometimes it’s just flat out murdery dark. Like Hannibal or the Hitcher or hell even Terry Silver from TKK3. They’re a specific string of violent and they read two ways to me. One a tired being wanting to finally rest looking for a replacement that they have to destroy and remold so that it in fact kills them and they can no longer do anything. Which reads to me like this idea that for balance in the universe evil must in fact exist in a very specific way and that if you have to get rid of an evil you need to replace it with something or else the void will destroy everything. (See a lot of Darren Shan’s YA series or even not in evil but for the universal balance: the Hogfather)
Or a desire to not be alone and to have someone else in the world understand them and their darkness. It’s all some older (perceived) darkness corrupting something younger. And every single one of these dark (as in dead dove do not eat dark) romances (if you tilt your head) are absolutely fascinating. Like I know horror is a lens through which a lot is explored, but this reoccurring theme is something I kind of want to poke at and read up on. And it makes me wonder why when remade (Looking specifically at the Hitcher) is that initial story lost whenever a sequel or remake is created.
Like it feels impossible to miss that it’s a queer story. That just scrolling through the tag for five seconds and reading about interviews with creators and seeing parts gifed that I didn’t fully grasp when watching it, that it’s impossible to miss. (even if the censors did miss it) Yet for some reason every recreation swaps the boy out for a girl and turns it into something we have millions of in real life and fiction. And while final girls are great, it feels like just the idea of it kind of destroys the whole point. And it’s not like they stopped making queer coded horror after the 80s. I suppose it’s just a curiosity, a disappointing realization that you can watch something, learn that there’s a sequel and a remake and then go look at a Wikipedia article about them and realize the point was missed by what feels like a football field. And that Daniel LaRusso never got the scene he was meant to with the character he was meant to for this specific string of horror. A line delivered to another character should’ve been given to him if they were going to utter it at all. Although that conversation is a different one and I see why they went the way they did, even if I do believe Daniel was the one that phrase was meant for. I don’t know if this trope would be evil is always looking for an apprentice, or evil is looking for ‘love’ but it feels a bit like both.
#mumblings#I think I'm still in a scardy cat phase#but I've learned that if I watch scary movies with people then talking about it makes it easier to watch#that if it's from the 80s then it's not a problem to watch it#which bodes well for this spooky season

With the recent leaks of part 3 of the sixth season of Cobra Kai, I learned that we should not create expectations about the script of a series that prioritizes fan favoritism in some characters to the detriment of a good, satisfactory and coherent narrative outcome for other characters.
What was the point of writing these scenes for Robby? Apparently, the purpose of these scenes was just to create expectations that would never be met. 🤷🏻♀️

Cobra Kai writers, do the right thing and give Robby the victory in the Sekai Taikai tournament final.

I can't stand seeing Robby always in second place when clearly he is a character with a lot of talent and potential to be the winner.
It's time for Robby to shine and win a tournament. He also needs this victory to guarantee his future at university, as Robby's probability of entering university is lower than that of Miguel and Hawk (Eli).

Robby Keene: A natural born leader 🥋

Robby, you led the charge for everyone to leave Silver. You got Kenny to Miyagi-Do. Like it or not, bro, you're a natural born leader. Okay? You fight for what you believe in, and you don't give up. So this whole "I'm not a leader" thing is... Bullshit? Yes. So lead us. And we'll follow. I'll follow.
• Miguel Diaz (Cobra Kai: season 6 part 2)
🥋
You’ve never had things easy, Robby. You’ve been knocked down every which way, more times than anyone I’ve ever known. But you’ve also gotten back up more times, too. You stood up to Kreese. To Silver. Whenever you knew something was wrong, you stood up. Even when you had to do it alone. You turned your rival into your best friend. You patched things up with your dad. No one has adapted more than you. So, tell me. Can you do it again?
• Daniel LaRusso (Cobra Kai: season 6 part 3)
Robby Keene is a natural born leader who fights for what he believes in, always stands up when something is wrong and seeks to protect those he loves and also the defenseless.
February 4th: Happy birthday, Robby Keene! ✨

Johnny Lawrence: season 4 - episode 8

“I want… I wanna be a father to you. I really do. I try to protect you. I try to be there for you. I just suck at it. I really suck at it. But I want to so bad… I love you too Robby.”
⬇️
Johnny Lawrence: season 6 - part 2

Yes, Johnny, you are still failing when it comes to supporting, protecting, and being there for your son.
Unfortunately, Johnny is still not a good father to Robby. The series itself shows this. Johnny is never there when Robby needs support and encouragement, but he is always present and does everything he can to help the other characters.
There are 5 episodes left until the end of the series and it is disappointing to see how neglectful Johnny still is with his son Robby.

I don’t understand why the show keeps trying so hard to convince us that father/son bonding moments happened between Johnny and Robby when they clearly didn’t. It was very sad to see Robby completely unfocused in the Sekai Taikai tournament, losing several fights, suffering for Tory and and Johnny did nothing to help his son.

"You know, all those years you weren't there, I blamed myself."

🎶 I think the song Daddy by Coldplay very well expresses Robby's feelings regarding Johnny's absence and neglect.
