it  had  been  self - preservation  that  kept  kassandra  from  jumping  headlong  into  helping  put  out  the  fires  .  thinking  of  what  would  be  left  behind  if  something  had  happened  to  her  .  tending  to  the  wounded  ,  however  ,  has  much  lower  stakes  ,  and  she  had  (  stubbornly  )  insisted  on  staying  to  help  any  stragglers  .  leaned  over  a  basin  to  clean  her  hands  ,  she  looks  up  as  a  shadow  falls  over  the  water  ,  “  most  of  the  maesters  are  preoccupied  ,  @reignrbs​  .  ”  she  glances  down  ,  briefly  ,  picking  up  a  cloth  nearby  to  dry  her  hands  .  “  but  i  will  assist  as  best  as  i  can  ,  if  you  are  in  need  of  something  .  ”

welcome to dorne

within the months after all were released home from winterfell the ravens begin arriving. a royal wedding is to be had. the ruling princess of dorne invites all far and wide to witness her son, crown prince ryon martell, bind his life to the lady of the arbor, denyse redwyne. the festivities promise fun, merriment, fine wine and food, and the wedding of the new year. 

who could turn such a thing down?

arc iii begins with characters descending upon dorish sands in sunspear for the wedding of denyse redwyne + ryon martell ! our characters will have been traveling between days to months, sailing or riding, but we start when the last of everyone has arrived. 

this does not immediately begin the event, but a roughly two week period ooc of settling in writing / catching up on the 3 months characters have been parted from one another. ic it’s about a week prior to the wedding, festivities and feasts will occur nightly.

all characters will be staying at sunspear, either in the keep or in nearby fine places. 

as usual everyone gets one free open, and we do ask that you try to write with everyone and don’t just focus on closed starters.

all threads from prior to this arc must be dropped.

𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐘𝐉𝐎𝐘 :  returned  to  pyke  for  a  few  weeks  to  satisfy  her  craving  for  salt  air  before  setting  off  on  a  sort  of  royal  progress  —  wherein  she  showed  up  at  the  doorstep  of  noble  houses  throughout  westeros  in  true  ironborn  fashion  (  i . e .  whether  they  invited  her  or  not  )  ,  seeking  to  establish  extremely  tentative  relationships  between  house  greyjoy  and  the  greenlanders  .  the  list  of  stops  includes  :  house  lannister  in  casterly  rock  ,  the  clans  of  the  vale  ,  house  targaryen  in  summerhall  ,  and  house  hightower  in  oldtown  ,  though  she  probably  stopped  in  on  some  smaller  houses  throughout  the  realm  along  the  way  too  before  sailing  to  sunspear  to  reunite  with  her  family  after  almost  three  months  of  her  absence  .

𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒  :  visera  travelled  from  winterfell  straight  to  summerhall  with  her  great  uncle  luc  ,  accompanied  by  her  dragon  darksmoke  .  the  choice  to  not  follow  her  mother  and  sister  to  rook’s  rest  was  a  difficult  one  ,  but  the  dense  forest  of  the  stormlands  offered  visera  ample  time  to  strengthen  her  bond  with  her  great  dane  sized  and  growing  dragon  .  the  first  few  weeks  found  her  accompanying  darksmoke  as  he  hunted  ,  visera  herself  on  horseback  .  as  a  result  ,  her  skills  with  a  dagger  as  well  as  a  bow  and  arrow  have  increased  greatly  .  upon  hearing  news  of  the  birth  of  rhaelle  ,  she  and  darksmoke  returned  home  to  dragonstone  where  she  met  her  new  cousin  and  refused  to  speak  to  any  of  her  family  members  (  except  reila  )  in  the  common  tongue  so  that  she  could  finally  get  the  hang  of  speaking  fluent  high  valyrian  before  heading  to  dorne  with  the  dragonstone  party  .

𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐀𝐃𝐘 𝐂𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑  :  returned  to  their  home  at  seagard  with  their  betrothed  ,  but  their  duty  to  the  north  called  them  back  to  winterfell  upon  the  birth  of  prince  benjen  .  cailin  goes  out  on  a  limb  ,  entrusting  the  rule  of  seagard  to  helaena  in  their  absence  ,  and  is  pleased  to  hear  from  her  frequently  via  letters  throughout  their  absence  .  she  spends  the  majority  of  the  three  months  in  winterfell  ,  but  returns  home  to  seagard  with  a  few  weeks  remaining  before  they  must  depart  for  dorne  .  en  route  to  sunspear  ,  they  visit  brightwater  keep  ,  the  home  of  their  intended  .

𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐊 :  upon  leaving  winterfelll  ,  rickard  accompanied  both  his  and  his  wife’s  houses  (  house  serrett  )  back  to  karhold  ,  where  he  remained  for  a  few  days  to  ensure  all  were  settled  before  departing  to  join  his  men  on  their  annual  hunt  to  restock  karhold’s  stores  .  he  remained  on  the  hunt  for  only  a  short  while  ,  returning  to  karhold  merely  a  week  later  to  be  nearby  his  pregnant  wife  (  who  didn’t  want  him  to  go  anyway  lol  )  and  properly  host  house  serrett  .  he  would  remain  at  karhold  until  their  departure  for  sunspear  ,  where  upon  their  arrival  it  is  now  quite  obvious  to  all  that  house  karstark  will  be  welcoming  a  baby  in  the  coming  months  .

𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐖𝐘𝐍𝐄  :  mace  returned  to  the  arbor  and  remained  there  throughout  the  three  months  ,  working  alongside  his  sister  lynesse  to  deal  with  the  needs  and  running  of  the  arbor  until  her  early  departure  for  dorne  .  he  extended  an  invitation  to  guinevere  lannister  to  visit  him  in  the  arbor  ,  but  was  #denied  .  as  a  result  ,  he  spent  the  rest  of  his  time  at  home  sulking  ,  continuing  his  correspondence  with  guinevere  ,  debating  whether  or  not  he  should  attend  denyse  and  ryon’s  wedding  celebrations  ,  sampling  the  arbor  gold  ,  and  skipping  rocks  with  his  son  quentyn  .  ultimately  ,  he  sailed  to  dorne  to  attend  the  wedding  celebrations  ,  albeit  against  his  younger  sister’s  wishes  . 

𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐋  :  ryon  returned  to  sunspear  immediately  as  soon  as  the  snow  in  the  north  lessened  ,  accompanied  by  his  family  and  his  betrothed  .  unlike  denyse’s  first  visit  to  dorne  ,  he  spent  a  rather  generous  amount  of  his  three  months  hosting  her  as  he  should  have  the  first  time  ,  having  grown  far  more  comfortable  in  her  company  throughout  their  time  in  winterfell  .  a  few  days  prior  to  the  arrival  of  the  first  nobles  to  sunspear  ,  he  gifted  denyse  with  a  foal  sired  by  one  of  his  beloved  sand  steeds  as  an  early  wedding  present  .  he  has  barely  endured  the  wedding  preparations  he  was  required  to  participate  in  ,  and  is  on  a  very  short  fuse  now  that  the  nuptials  approach  quickly  .  however  ,  his  irritableness  should  not  be  confused  for  reluctance  ,  as  he  has  grown  used  to  the  lady  redwyne’s  company  and  has  not  taken  off  the  pendants  she  gave  him  once  lol  .

𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐎 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐘𝐒  :  victario  remained  with  princess  pimchanok  targaryen  throughout  their  period  of  stalling  their  return  to  the  southern  capital  ,  eventually  ending  up  with  them  in  king’s  landing  for  the  majority  of  the  three  months  .  however  ,  he  did  depart  from  westeros  for  essos  and  the  free  cities  for  a  few  weeks’  time  ,  during  which  he  stocked  up  on  lyseni  perfume  ,  perused  essosi  poisons  and  had  a  brief  fling  with  sarisa  baratheon  in  braavos  before  returning  to  king’s  landing  to  accompany  an  arguing  pim  and  aedar  on  their  travels  to  sunspear  .

𝐒𝐄𝐑 𝐃𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂 𝐋𝐘𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐘  :  as  soon  as  the  snow  cleared  ,  domeric  retrieved  his  approved  recruits  from  the  winterfell  dungeons  and  headed  back  to  castle  black  to  fulfill  his  duties  as  a  brother  of  the  night’s  watch  .   sent  to  eastwatch  by  the  sea  due  to  a  shortage  of  rangers  at  the  watch’s  less  populated   castle  on  the  bay  of  seals  ,  he  makes  a  short  and  uneventful  trip  beyond  the  wall  to  ensure  that  no  wildling  settlements  have  sprung  up  within  a  reasonable  distance  of  the  border  .  upon  his  return  to  castle  black  ,  he  is  informed  that  the  northern  council  and  king  have  requested  a  small  regiment  of  brothers  to  accompany  the  northern  royal  family  to  dorne  for  added  safety  and  security  .  despite  having  his  own  reservations  (  not  wanting  to  force  his  presence  upon  all  those  that  hate  him  by  association  )  ,  domeric  must  follow  all  orders  from  his  lord  commander  ,  and  departs  for  winterfell  with  a  few  of  his  fellow  men  of  the  night’s  watch  to  accompany  the  northern  royals  to  sunspear  .

character updates     —     arc iii.

HARRION STARK.        when the guests leave winterfell, all harry wants is to enjoy the quiet and spend time with his family. it isn’t long before his son, prince benjen stark, is born, but the birth leaves ravella stark weakened and many fearing that she won’t survive. harry barely leaves her side until the maester reassures him that the danger has passed. his attention then shifts to finding a balance between his duties as king and being a father. despite a few small stresses, the days are blissful for the young king. but it doesn’t last. both his and ravella’s pasts come back to haunt them, creating a rift between the previously united couple, and harrion finds himself hurt, guarded, and unsure how to fix the situation. 

NYMERIA MARTELL.        despite being sad to bid winterfell farewell, her spirits are quickly lifted when she learns that not one but two weddings would be happening within the coming months. she is absolutely thrilled to welcome not only denyse but sharra into the family and for the celebrations as a whole, which she has actively played a role in planning. other than the occasional trip to the water gardens, she has remained in sunspear. additionally, and much to her delight, nymeria has exchanged frequent letters with timur blacktyde. 

LUKAS HARLAW.        surprisingly, lukas remains at harlaw, relaxing and drinking and staying out of his father’s way. he does visit some of the other islands as well but for the most part he’s content to have a few months at home. 

GUINEVERE LANNISTER.        due to reila targaryen about to give birth, gwen leaves winterfell with no intentions of going anywhere that isn’t dragonstone. she remains at her friend’s side, especially after the baby is born. in addition to her duties as a lady in waiting, guinevere writes frequent letters, mainly to her family due to all the familial matters that have arisen for them, but she also maintains her correspondence with mace redwyne. he does extend an invitation for her to visit him at the arbor, but she declines, not willing to leave reila’s side. she travels to dorne with the dragonstone targaryens.

WILLAS MARBRAND.        duty calls willas back to king’s landing. he quickly settles back into his normal routine there, attending council meetings, pacifying aedar the best he can, and corresponding with the regent of ashemark. it’s a sense of propriety that prompts willas to write letters to his betrothed, celia blackwood. he had invited her to king’s landing before leaving winterfell. much to his relief, se declined. so he expects nothing in return for his letters but much to his surprise his letters are answer, leading to stilted conversations between the two. it doesn’t cause his opinion of her to alter.

ALICENT ARRYN.        grief follows her back to the vale. rather than go to the eyrie, alicent travels to runestone first for her brother’s official funeral. she stays there for a little while after, spending time with her family, but returns home in time for sharra arryn and abraxas martell’s first wedding ceremony. while alicent wants to remain in the vale, especially as her pregnancy progresses, she ends up traveling to dorne early for sharra’s second wedding ceremony since travel to dorne is inevitable and she’d rather do before she’s another month further along in her pregnancy. there’s still an air of grief that lingers around her and she is far more guarded.

DAERON.        he leaves winterfell with no real idea where he’s supposed to go. he considered returning to braavos for good, especially since his relationship with his father is left on uncertain grounds. in the end, he decides to travel around the riverlands, westerlands, and the reach. he doesn’t stay in many keeps, opting for inns after playing pretend at being a noble for too long. he’s surprised to receive letters from his father but responds to each other. eventually, he does return to summerhall and remains there until leaving for dorne with the summerhall party.

HELAENA FLORENT.        seagard welcomes her back along with the new and temporary responsibility of ruling the seat in her betrothed’s stead when they are called back to winterfell. helaena takes on the temporary regency with great care and writes often to cailin mallister, keeping them informed of all happenings. the weeks are quiet. she waits for her betrothed before they leave for dorne together, though the pair makes a short stop at brightwater keep so helaena can show them her home.

abraxas travels to the vale to wed his bride, sharra, and after a hefty amount of celebrating there they travel to sunspear for a smaller celebration prior to ryon + nyse’s wedding. he spends the remainder of his time there.

𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐅𝐎𝐖𝐋𝐄𝐑  .   

achara travels on the sea with her triplets + regnar, but eventually returns to sky reach to see her family and spend time with just them before dorne. fair to assume if you saw regnar at the beginning of the skip achara and 3 demons were there too.

𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐀 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐊  . 

alexia remains in winterfell under the guise of helping her good sister and the newly born wolf, but in truth is too fearful to visit casterly rock. but it all quickly becomes easy to stay in winterfell when harrion offers to break her betrothal, and after speaking to loras, lex agrees to do so. she gets to see her sister betrothed to the man who has taken her heart, and forces her help at wedding planning. lex also celebrates a name day over the skip.

𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄  .   

astris travels home to spend some time with her family before they rejoin kaelys and attach to wherever the kraken goes. likely to pyke. just assume if you saw kae in the latter half of the skip that astris was there.

𝐂𝐄𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐑𝐘𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋  .   

cedrick writes to his family to have them meet him half way as ravella having her child keeps him bound to winterfell. he leaves for two days to meet them, then rides back with his children and the mother of his youngest in tow. he remains in winterfell helping with as much as he can so harry can focus on fatherhood, and relishes in his children being there finally.

𝐃𝐀𝐄𝐆𝐎𝐍 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐘𝐉𝐎𝐘  .   

daegon returns to pyke for a short time before taking the mothers of his children and the three little pykes on a sailing trip. it’s not the cleanest, but he’s trying. the kids and their mothers are on a different ship and do not see the drunk ravings of the rest of his crew.

𝐄𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐀 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐍  .   

eirelia stays in winterfell for the entire break, traveling with the starks to dorne when the call comes. she focuses on her work, and ignoring her brother who sends incessant ravens about the possibility of her being wed.

𝐇𝐔𝐆𝐎 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓  .   

hugo bids his family farewell and remains in winterfell by choice. he does some light traveling to visit friends in the north, but never stays too far as he wishes to be there for harry and the new babe.

𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐒 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐄𝐍  .   

lucerys travels to summerhall to remain, inviting all family to come whenever they’d like. he’s visited by visera, daeron, and who knows who else. writes letters to his son often, is v obviously happy when daeron does finally visit.

𝐑𝐄𝐈𝐋𝐀 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐄𝐍 𝐍𝐄𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐘  .  

reila travels to king’s landing with her husband but when labor grows near begs to go to dragonstone where she ultimately gives birth to princess rhaelle targaryen. she spends a good few weeks resting and mothering, visited by her brother and rhaegar’s siblings, before traveling to dorne by ship.

𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐎𝐍  .  

sarisa travels back to storm’s end for all of two weeks before traveling to braavos. she only sails to dorne when a raven comes from her brother, but does travel immediately and arrives on time.

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐇  .  

tharon returns to the vale to watch sharra wed, remains for a few weeks after she and her new husband part, then drags his wife off to his clan to spend some weeks with them before traveling back to the eyrie and then to dorne with the arryns.

𝐕𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐀 𝐓𝐘𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐋  . 

vareena travels to highgarden where she remains the entire time with elif. she spends time truly grieving her father, visiting a few different houses in the reach to check on them, including old town to visit mel, and ensuring the relations between houses and great house remain strong.

looking  out  from  one  of  the  water  gardens’  numerous  terraces  puts  serena  in  something  of  an  introspective  mood  .  it  couldn’t  have  been  more  than  a  decade  since  she  last  visited  dorne  ,  but  it  feel  like  a  lifetime  —  she  had  been  ecstatic  to  have  the  opportunity  to  explore  the  shadow  city  and  see  what  local  delicacies  and  goods  the  bazaars  had  to  offer  ,  but  the  same  can’t  be  said  of  this  occasion  .  just  the  idea  of  being  in  an  arid  climate  ,  when  recently  she  had  been  sweltering  and  stifled  by  her  cloak  and  furs  in  the  north  ,  had  not  been  appealing  when  the  invitation  arrived  ,  and  to  be  in  the  desert  now  ,  even  with  the  appropriate  ,  light - weight  attire  ,  her  viewpoint  remains  the  same  .  it’s  no  exaggeration  to  say  her  patience  had  begun  to  wear  thin  from  the  moment  her  feet  touched  dornish  sands  .

movement  out  of  the  corner  of  her  eye  captures  the  lady’s  attention  ,  coaxing  her  out  of  her  thoughts  and  into  the  present  .  reflexively  ,  she  puts  on  a  practiced  polite  smile  ,  preparing  herself  for  the  possibility  of  a  conversation  ,  “  i’ve  heard  the  water  is  quite  refreshing  .  ”  she  shifts  her  gaze  away  from  the  crowds  gathered  around  the  pools  toward  her  new  companion  .  “  have  you  gone  in  ?  ”

serena  gently  bends  maika’s  legs  to  exercise  them  ,  narrating  her  actions  and  making  faces  as  she  does  .  it’s  an  engrossing activity  ,  enough  that  the  rest  of  world  falls  away  —  almost  .  movement  out  of  the  corner  of  her  eye  still  manages  to  redirect  her  attention  .  as  she  glances  over  to  see  the source  ,  she  makes  an  exaggerated  gasp  ,  one  for  the  babe’s  benefit  .  though  serena  knows  it  isn’t  possible  for  maika  to lift  and  turn  her  head  to  see  who  she’s  looking  at  just  yet  ,  “  look  ,  maika  ,  your  aunt  alys  is  here  .  ”  she  smiles  and  nods  once  toward  her  good  sister  ,  as  a  much more  standard  greeting  between  herself  and  @ruinovs​  .

 just  as  her  eyes  droop  closed  ,  having  finally  rocked  maika  back  to  sleep  ,  news  of  …  something  arrives  from  the  edge  of  the  room  .  serena  hums  ,  to  request  that  the  courtier  repeat  themselves  .  ‘  a  visitor  .  ’  where  typically  she  would  tilt  her  head  ,  it  simply  lolls  to  the  side  ,  cheek  pressing  on  her  shoulder  .  visits  to  the  karstark  apartments  had  been  constant  over  the  past  few  days  ,  though  rarely  did  they  warrant  the  formality  of  an  announcement  ,  given  that  most  were  family  ,  “  …  who  is  it  ?  ”  she  finally  vocalizes  ,  though  when  the  answer  of  @wnterreign​  comes  she  doesn’t  process  it  ,  only  that  her  query  has  been  answered  .  for  a  moment  she  considers  turning  the  mystery  visitor  (  only  to  her  )  away  ,  yet  decorum  takes  over  just  as  quickly  .  she  stands  from  her  seat  ,  padding  over  to  peer  out  from  the  doorway  to  receive  them  .  “  good  afternoon  ,  ”  or  ,  at  least  ,  she  assumes  it’s  the  afternoon  ,  if  the  brightness of  the  room  is  any  indication  .  she  drops  into  something  reminiscent  of  a  curtsy  ,  blinking  once  ,  forcefully  ,  to  clear  away  some  of  her  drowsiness  ,  attention  mostly  still  on  the  babe  in  her  arms  .

@wnterreign sent a raven : sender barges into receiver’s home unannounced .

from  the  moment  he  senses  the  door  swinging  open  —  whether  by  sight  or  sound  he  can’t  be  certain  —  belthasar  reaches  for  the  dagger  always  concealed  on  his  person  ,  preparing  to  spring  to  action  if  necessary  .  he  doesn’t  relax  ,  exactly  ,  upon  recognizing  the  figure  in  the  doorway  ,  but  stows  the  knife  away  ,  sculpting  his  expression  back  into  its  usual  steely  ,  calm  mien  .  even if he is curious as to why his nephew has decided to make an appearance , he refuses to allow any of his curiosity show , “  i  thought  you  were  not  speaking  to  me  .  ”  he  says  slowly  (  or  drawls  ,  one  could  say  ,  if  bel  were  petty  enough  for  that  sort  of  thing  )  as  he  returns  his  attention  to  his  reading  materials  .  “  or  was  that  a  condition  of  your  imprisonment  ?  ”

belthasar  wordlessly  takes  in  the  scene  before  him  ;  to  say  the  image  of  @wnterreign​  imprisoned  after  the  inquisition  hadn’t  crossed  his  mind  would  be  a  lie  .  still  ,  that  did  nothing  to  prevent  the  surge  of  emotion  within  him  when  he  caught  a  glimpse  of  his  nephew’s  name  on  the  list  of  those  taken  to  the  dungeons  .  any  surface  anger  had  dissipated  by  this  point  ,  though  if  he  could  reach  through  the  bars  and  grab  kieran  by  the  collar  ,  knowing  for  certain  it  would  be  without  consequence  ,  he  would  do  so  .  instead  ,  it  was  lukewarm  displeasure  that  radiates  from  his  inky  blue  hues  ,  an  annoyance  that  he  must  be  here  for  anything  but  official  business  .  only  after  feeling  he  has  sufficiently  stared  the  younger  man  down  does  he  break  the  silence  .  “  …  is  it  truly  so  difficult  ,  to  behave  yourself  for  ten  minutes  ?  ”

when  she  first  set  off  on  her  stroll  ,  for  a  brief  break  from  monotony  ,  serena  hadn’t  anticipated  it  would  tire  her  out  so  quickly  .  she  supposes  she  could  have  turned  back  by  now  ,  but  stubborn  determination  convinces  her  to  keep  going  .  she  perks  up  as  a  bench  comes  into  view  ,  deflating  only  slightly  when  she  notices  someone  has  already  occupied  half  of  it  .  still  ,  she  marches  on  ,  slowing  to  a  halt  at  a  respectful  distance  from  @wnterreign​  ,  “  apologies  for  bothering  you  …  ”  a  half - truth  ,  as  she  doesn’t  ever  set  out  to  be  a  nuisance  ,  nor  unwanted  company  ,  but  the  desire  to  be  comfortable  wins  against  propriety  this  time  .  and  ,  seeing  as  the  other  is  in  a  similar  condition  as  herself  —  if  the  bump  is  any  indication  —  perhaps  she’ll  be  successful  ,  “  …  would  you  mind  if  i  sat  down  ?  ”

the  click  of  familiar  footsteps  prompts  a  sigh  to  leak  from  belthasar’s  lips  .  anger  and  disappointment  still  simmer  below  the  surface  ,  no  less  reassured  after  seeing  kieran  for  himself  earlier  .  for  that  reason  he  knew  a  conversation  with  @silverflcmes​  would  be  necessary  ,  and  he  had  mulled  over  how  to  approach  it  for  no  insignificant  amount  of  time  ,  between  discussing  what  to  do  moving  forward  with  the  small  council  .  as  he  turns  to  face  his  niece  ,  he  steels  himself  ,  a  greater  endeavor  than  he  likes  to  admit  ,  “  there  is  nothing  i  can  do  .  ”  his  tone  is  firm  ,  leaving  no  room  for  argument  ,  though  he  knows  valeria  of  all  people  might  push  regardless  .

“    i  fear  i  have  little  to  report  since  we  last  spoke  ,  @gcldenhawk​  .  ”  thus  far  ,  his  communication  with  the  small  council  members  of  the  other  realms  had  been  slow  .  he  suspects  balancing  that  with  bolstering  the  number  of  guards  around  the  northern  royals  likely  didn’t  help  ,  “  at  this  rate  ,  i  may  have  to  open  my  own  investigation  .  ”  he  adds  with  a  grimace  .  while  belthasar  understands  that  the  dornish  council  likely  feels  it  is  their  responsibility  to  get  to  the  bottom  of  what  happened  ,  he  does  wonder  whether  the  lack  of  information  is  because  of  limited  resources  ,  or  the  council  holding  their  cards  close  to  their  chests  .

for  as  much  as  tobias  had  been  splitting  his  time  between  the  baratheon  and  tarth  apartments  (  spending most of that time in  the  latter  ,  as  calla  insisted  he  recover  with  family  around  him  )  ,  he  had  had  little  time  to  check  in  with  his  lieges  .  and  although  he  is  sworn  to  aravis  first  and  foremost  ,  he  still  extends  his  allegiance  to  the  rest  of  house  baratheon  ,  @fallencrxwns​  included  ,  “  i’ve  been  informed  that  i  can  do  very  little  in  the  way  of  my sworn duties for  the  time  being  .  ​but i would still like to know if there is anything else i can do to help . ” a small sigh leaks from barely parted lips . he trusts the baratheon guards , of course , as in many ways he counted himself among them , but he would always have a twinge of concern anyway .

annoying  his  sister  @ruinovs​  (  or  trying  to  ,  rather  )  is  something  osric  only  likes  to  do  intentionally  ,  and  certainly  not  in  the  way  he  had  lately  .  so  ,  he  had  given  her  space  .  still  ,  it  had  been  a  while  since  he  last  checked  in  with  her  ,  and  he  had  decided  to  change  that  .  he  knocks  before  her  door  ,  and  ,  in  brotherly  fashion  ,  opens  it  without  waiting  for  a  response  .  “  shar  .  ”  he  pokes  his  head  into  the  room  .  “  i  promise  i’ll  leave  if  you  want  me  to  ,  just  wanted  to  know  if  you  needed  help  with  anything  .    ”  being  the  second  most - recent  addition  to  house  martell  ,  he’s  sure  his  sister  has  thrown  herself  headlong  into  every  responsibility  that  entails  being  part  of  the  family  .  and  unlike  king’s  landing  ,  osric  refuses  to  idly  pass  his  time  .

seeing  as  jeyne  and  alicent  both  insisted  that  they  were  fine  ,  but  mostly  because  sharra  seemed  primed  to  fight  him  if  he  stayed  a  moment  longer  (  and  not  for  the  first  time  either  )  ,  osric  thinks  it  best  to  forgo  any  of  his  family  members’  apartments  entirely  for  a  while  .  he  isn’t  sure  how  long  he  ambles  within  the  limits  of  the  palace  ,  just  as  he  found  himself  want  to  do  in  the  red  keep  so  many  months  ago  ,  but  his  mind  snaps  back  into  focus  as  he  spots  a  familiar  figure  in  the  hallway  ahead  of  him  ,  a  concerned  frown  forming  on  his  lips  ,  “  @qcyqoyi​  ,  how  are  you  ?  ”  he  calls  out  ,  “  i  tried  to  visit  before  ,  but  your  guards  said  you  were  still  resting  .  ”
