serious answer: starting out you will have no idea what you're doing. like absolutely no idea. having someone to help you is amazing (me). the road to actually being good at the game is long and hard, not even skill wise but just having good enough mods and weapons. it takes a lot of time investment. loot is rng based. have the wiki open at all times. but you can play completely free and gain premium currency (platinum) without spending money by trading items with other players. keep your 50 starting platinum to buy warframe slots and weapon slots.

actually right now is probably the best time to start playing as they're having their yearly anniversary and give a bunch of junk out for free just for logging in and doing missions.
