I do a much better job at sharing my students’ work than my own. Better late than never! I took an awesome hand building and tilework class this past fall and made a set of glazed sgraffito carved dinner plates using the tattoo designs on my forearms. I also learned how to make tiles with a slab roller and a tile cutter and how to add patterns and color to the front and back with iron oxide and clay slips. This class was so inspiring thanks to the instructor and talented artist Carlos Beltran Baldiviezo. I’ve been so lucky that The Art League is lss than 2 miles from my apartment.
