Fun fact about Aiden: he’s a re-creation of one of my first Sims 2 Sims, so when he said he’s been on this planet for eighteen rotations, he wasn’t lying. I was 18 when I created him for a bachelorette-type challenge. He was one of the male contestants vying for the hand of my female Sim. I don’t know what I did (it’s been a looooooooooooooooooong time since I was 18) but that boy was getting visits from the psychiatrist pretty much every five minutes. That ended up with him being characterized as kind of a nervous wreck. I leaned into it. “Maybe Earth is so confusing to him that he can barely function”, was my train of thought. 

While Aiden may have mellowed out over the years (sort of), he’s still my little cinnamon roll of anxiety. Earth things still upset him, poor guy. I didn’t play with him much outside of that challenge, and I think I ended up deleting that save shortly afterwards, but I guess he made enough of an impression on me that I remade him all these years later. I really love him and I hope that comes through in the story I’m about to tell through him. I want him to find the love he never found the first time around (he lost the challenge) and have a happy life, even if this isn’t his planet of choice.
