katherine was born on a bitter cold detriot winter morning and it was only the very next that the tiny blonde baby girl was dropped off at the local fire station, the hospital blanket wrapped around her. a quick and short note with the words 'i'm sorry, i couldn't' attached to the run down car seat kat was placed in. very quickly with no information on who left her, where she came from, and no signs that anyone was coming back for her katherine was placed into the city's foster care system. kat doesn't have many memories of being a young girl just small snippets of different homes decor. by the time she was eight the young girl had given up any childlike hope that her birth parents were ever going to come back and whisk her away. it was the year of her eighth birthday that she decided to stop wishing for them to come back every time she blew out her candles on her cake. she bounced around a decent amount, by the time the she turned ten years old she had already lived in a handful of homes. some times she would be placed in a tiny home filled with way too many kids smushed together in one room. it wouldn't be too long before she was picked up again and placed into another home, usually more chaos and instability than the last. the only consistency that kat truly had was the sweet police officer who would pick her up, offering her a sympathetic smile and a dessert at the local diner before dropping her off at her new temporary residence.

it was by the time kat had turned fourteen when she had made the decision that when she was old enough to be fully on her own she was going to leave the foster program behind and become an officer of some sort. just like the sweet lady officer who would always make sure even if the midst of the constant inconsistency that she was still cared for. she was going to make it her mission that she too was going to have the job where she could help others. doing her very best to work her way through school she enrolled into the police academy by the time she had just turned twenty years old. she worked dead end jobs and did everything she could to put herself through the duration of her police training. her goal of helping others and provide a safe place her driving force. she put everything she had into her school and work and it had shown to others that she came off a bit as an overachiever.

once she had graduated she had been recruited for a police department in ashford, mass and packed her few belongings and made the move, leaving her past behind her in detroit. that move was fifteen years ago and working her way up in the police department, owns a quaint little townhome, even adopting a stray cat and created the life she has always wanted for herself. however, by putting her job first she has neglected, maybe intentionally, the romantic part of her life.

Vienna as always called Ashford home and has never really considered changing that.

Her family has been here for generations so everywhere she looks she sees parts of them.

The Crumble & Co Bakery has been in her family since they settled roots here and she spent her entire life with her hands covered in floor.

Her dad passed when she was really young, before solid memories really began to form so her and her mom were always best friends and with her mom passing last year destroyed her world.

As she always knew it would be, Crumble & Co has been passed to her. There was never really another path for her even if baking isn't her passion, continuing her family's legacy is so important to her

As much as she loves Ashford the only time she's ever considered leaving is after her divorce, but she's not a runner and she knows that.

Her and her ex husband got married was she was pretty young, only 22, because Vienna rarely stops to question her hearts decisions and she loves big and loves to give people the benefit of the doubt and has never met a red flag she couldn't love

Unfortunately you can't love someone into being a good partner if they aren't the right partner for you and you cant love someone into doing the work they need to on themselves so the marriage turned volatile pretty quick

Despite being short lived, it still haunts her. Not only does she have to see him regularly in such a small town, but this feels like the ultimate failure. How do you trust yourself after something life this? As someone who makes almost every decision off of gut feeling, what do you do when your gut lead you so wrong

She loves music, her dad was a musician and listening to his old recordings was how she felt any sort of connection and closeness to him and she started playing guitar as soon as she was old enough to hold the ones he left for her. Her real dream is to make music but the family bakery always has to come first in her mind.

Still when she has time to herself all she does is write and play, very few people actually know this about her because its something that is so personal and so raw

Vienna is very good at getting to the root of people and isn't afraid to ask revealing questions of people. Personally she's not too fond of small talk so she will quickly skip past that. Many people would describe her energy as a safe space.

Despite being really good at getting others to be vulnerable, its something she struggles with herself. She does that thing where she offers up just enough curated vulnerability that people think they really know her, but she keeps a lot of the heavy topics close chest

She loves love and doesn't let her romantic failures stop her from trying but she has found it hard to fully open herself up in a way that leads to long lasting relationships. Almost like she really wants love but is afraid of accepting it because that gives the other person more power over her than she's comfortable with.

melodie was born november 30 to single mother lorraine parks. lorraine's pregnancy was totally unplanned and came as a complete surprise, and not a happy one. for her entire life, lorraine had sworn she would never have children- until the day she met melodie's father, richard. lorraine fell immediately, and a whirlwind romance began. when she came up pregnant, lorraine believed richard would ask her to marry him. instead, he did the opposite- by the morning after she'd dropped the news, he had packed his things and disappeared, leaving a crisp $50 bill and nothing else. lorraine hasn't seen or heard from him since, and melodie has never met her father.

the way in which richard left shattered lorraine's heart, a fact that she slowly began to take out on melodie, especially as she grew older. since she was approximately 6-years-old, melodie has raised herself. lorraine having made it crystal clear that she had no intention of being anything close to the definition of a mom or a mother, mel learned early-on to survive for herself. as she grew, the responsibility of taking care of herself shifted into taking care of both herself and lorraine, who had thrown all caution to the wind. she was rarely home, and when she was she was either passed out or screaming.

knowing things weren't sustainable as they were, mellie got a job at the age of 15 and began saving her money, socking bits away as frequently as possible. she had dreams, dreams that didn't include atlanta, or lorraine, or anything similar to her life. following high school graduation, she went immediately into the top esthetician's school in the state, moving quickly through the program and graduating top of her class.

telling herself she simply needed to work and save money for a few months to get away from her mom, mel put her head down and did her best to make sure she wouldn't have to reside with lorraine for any longer than necessary. her out came quicker than she believed when she met marcus. he was charming, handsome, and interested in mel, and for what felt like the first time in her life she found herself falling. after eight months of dating marcus proposed, melodie accepted, and the two began planning their lives together.

it didn't take long for trouble in paradise to begin, and shortly after that things only continued on their downward trajectory. verbal threats turned physical, then became more than threats, leaving mel to grieve the future she'd dreamed of as it slipped away. the two were married when mel was 23. by 28, she knew she had to go. after saving as much as she possibly could, she packed one night while marcus was away on business, and left, taking half of their healthy bank account with her. wanting to get as far away from her ex as possible, mellie made her way across the country, landing and settling in ashford.

wren was born on a warm july afternoon in the local hospital of ashford mass. her mother and father were not married, in fact, her father was actually married to another woman when the news of her conception was revealed. what started as an affair with wren's mother quickly turned serious and not willing to leave his marriage her father gave her mother a check and told her to take care of it. however, her mother instead to the check and got herself a small apartment on the outskirts of town where it was a little less affluent and made a plan for her life with her on her own and the little baby growing in her belly. as far back as wren can remember her mother was always juggling several jobs before landing her nursing degree. as a result wren spent a lot of time with a lady who watched a few kids in the apartment building or by herself. despite her mother keeping a busy schedule the two of them remained fairly close and wren always held the moments she had with her mom near and dear to her heart.

by the time middle school rolled around it was pretty clear that she was judged by her classmates for many things. for one she didn't have a father and two her mother and her lived in a tiny apartment, and three all the clothes she got was from thrift stores. we will just say she very clearly was not accepted by the popular crowd. she did her very best not to let the opinions of what other people thought of her get to her but it wasn't always the easiest task. by the time she started high school she had a handful of core friends and began to find her identity in other than being the girl with no dad.

that all changed of course when she met matthew ford at a party one night. what caused the school's golden boy to approach the school's weird girl she will never know. it started off simple enough, awkward attempts at conversation, shy looks, and finally some tension released when he offered her to spilt a joint. a little surprised that he was the type she agreed and what seemed like minutes spanned hours. they ended up spending the entirety of the party just taking and it was clear their connection was undeniable. wren couldn't believe for years she had believed he was just so idiot jock when all along he had such a deeper side to him. they bonded over their love for music and even took turns sharing headphones and played each other songs that 'changed their lives' the smile never leaving her lips.

she truly thought she wouldn't hear from him again after that night, that they would just go their separate ways back into their high school cliques. so she was very surprised when he texted her the next day and those texts formed a new habit of spending all day texting, which lead to nightly phone calls. of course the constant talking lead to more and they began sneaking away to see the other. she truly never thought she would ever be the type to talk to a boy with a girlfriend let alone fall for one. but that's exactly what happened. one night he kissed her and once they crossed that line there was no turning back. secret meetups turned to secret hook ups and just like her mother many years prior she found herself pregnant by a man who wasn't hers. she truly believed that it would be different, that even though they were young that matt would step up for them. however, he proved her very wrong when he started avoiding her and refused to acknowledge her or the pregnancy.

she echoed her mother giving birth on her own to a beautiful baby girl and did her very best to put any feelings for matthew behind her and buried deep down. current day her daughter lennon cole is almost two years old and still has never met her father. wren has done everything in her power to provide for her daughter and took a job and the bar so she could work nights and spend days with lennon.

Enzo Raymond Morales was born on April 26th in 1984. At least that's what he's been told all his life. You see, Enzo honestly had no idea if that was even his real name. He had grew up within the foster system. The thirty-seven year old was placed in the system the moment he was taken away from his birth mother's arms. Because of this, Enzo grew up tough. He grew up in Manhattan, New York and had to learn how to fight and stay strong. He learned how to take care of himself.

The social worker named Robin who had taken care of him all his childhood, they had formed a special bond since day one, and if you tried to argue then you'd be wrong since Enzo considered Robin to be his "mother." He wasn't the best in school, always getting into fights and getting into trouble but Robin still stuck by him. She made sure he succeeded and even though the man didn't get straight A's he got some good B's and C's. Though he was a loner, always have been and probably always will be. Enzo kept to himself, he found that he really loved fixing things. Anything with his hands. If something was broken, then Enzo would fix it. It was a hobby that he had picked up and was quite good at it.

It was mostly cars. While fixing cars Enzo was able to get his hands dirty. He was able to get distracted. Distracted from love, but that was far from the truth. At just sixteen years old, when things were going good for a bit, he had met and fallen in love with someone named Olivia Wells. They were mad for each other, and Robin tried to advise him against it, considering they were going too fast but Enzo didn't care. He was happy. For the first time in his life, Enzo was happy. He and Olivia were together for a few years, but at seventeen she found out she was pregnant. Enz had gotten her pregnant. Terrified and broke, he supported her with whatever she choose. They eventually broke up and Enzo slipped up again. Getting into fights, getting into trouble. However, Robin made him go straight to work. She made him fall in love with fixing cars again and getting his hands dirty. After high school, and after his situation with Olivia, it was straight to work for him. Enzo went to work in a shop fixing up cars and bikes and any other motor vehicle. He loved it honestly, and it paid enough for him to save up but not just enough to rent his own place so he would always crash at Robin's.

However, Enzo took up a second job which was bar tending and he thoroughly enjoyed it. That finally did it and Enzo put his first down payment on a place in Brooklyn, New York. Though nights were lonely and he filled that loneliness with different girls throughout the week, women he's flirted with at the bar he was working at. No one ever really stuck. That was until he had met one girl, one girl whom he tried so hard not to fall in love with. They were usually one night stands with the women he's slept with throughout the years and throughout his time in Brooklyn, but this women? No. She was it for him and he knew it and it terrified him. He was ready to propose and though before he could pop the question, the women disappeared.

Enzo was devastated honestly and he realized that he wasn't cut out to be committed or tied down to just one person. So, in order to clear his mind the man took a vacation for first time in his life. For some reason that spot was Massachuettes and Enzo found Ashford and has never left. Ashford soon became home. Still a loaner, the man opened up his own sop called Morales' Body & Co, and continues to bar tend on the side in town. Enzo has been here for five years. He still keeps in touch with Robin, and is forever grateful for her and her husband Chip who has helped him along the way. He has no interest in finding out about his biological parents.

anastasia rebecca norton was born march 15 in ashford to her parents gregory and irena. she is the youngest child in the family, having three older brothers. growing up, the norton home was full of love and laughter. irene and gregory loved their children fiercely and supported them in any endeavor they ever wished to adopt. every event, every function, every game, every concert the entire family was present. family dinners were always a huge deal, and as long as ana can remember they have had a dedicated family game night as well as a family movie night.

academics always came easily to anastasia, and by sixth grade she tested well enough to skip seventh and go directly to eight. despite her proclivity for academics, her intelligence worked against her amidst her peers, leaving her without ever having a ton of friends, or party invites. though those she did have she cherished, and remained as close with as possible. great grades and a mile-long list of extracurriculars afforded ana entry into virtually any college she could have desired, though she chose to attend the local community college to obtain her degree in Veterinary Technology.

after graduation anastasia did the only thing she'd ever planned to do- got herself a small and affordable apartment downtown, and began her life. after landing a job at the local pet hospital, she took on a new schedule and began to allow the pieces of her adult life to fall together. she is still close with her family, and visits with them every sunday for dinner and family gossip.
