Just Finished:
Age of Empires II: The Conquerors
This what we can call e pretty nice expansion with 4 new campaigns, new assets and several hours os of fun in hands.
And it's not just the fun. The Conquerors is once again another piece of History that Age of Empires can provide, with lots of facts, information, and trivia from where we can gain knowledge. If this isn't of the ways to learn about Human History, I don't know what it is…

Assemble Talk - Steamhouse 15/3/2019
Attended a really inspiring talk from Joe Halligan from multidisciplinary studio Assemble last night. Perfect primary research for my essay and practice based work. It’s affirmed that I’m back on track with looking at responsible design. Much of the talk was centred around the regeneration in Liverpool and the Granby workshops. It’s a fantastic model of how to engage communities and regenerate cities. I’ve seen them talk previously at Offsite Design conference in Dublin, but that was on the back of their Turner Prize nomination and win. Joe’s talk was much more grass roots on their Granby Four Streets project, their co-operative working methods and finding solutions to practical problems through the act of making.

The talk was hosted by the Maker Assembly who aim to make a home for critical discussion about maker culture: its meaning, politics, history and future.

Together, Lina Bo Bardi
Lina Bo Bardi: Together is a travelling exhibition celebrating the work of the radical Brazilian architect, Lina Bo Bardi. Assemble designed and built a flexible enclosure, a set of display furniture and a technical system.
The exhibition was curated by Noemi Blager and combines a multiple-screen film installation by Tapio Snellman and a collection of objects and sculptures by artist Madelon Vriesendorp.
The exhibition furniture can adapt to a range of gallery situations and presents the diverse content within one space, without hierarchy. The furniture was cast using snowcrete with vermiculite aggregate, which was then hand-hammered to make a rough, gold-flecked surface. The material palette and construction methodology learn directly from Lina Bo Bardi’s approach to making buildings, and the display of exhibition contents, without hierarchy, follows many of Lina’s own curatorial practices.
Starting in London, the installation has travelled to Vienna, Basel, Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin, Milan, Treviso, Chicago. Assemble re-design and install the exhibition at every venue.

A social approach to a holiday let.
I have had two good ideas over the past week which I'd like to share. The first is that we have been toying with the idea of the house being used as a holiday let for quite some time so that the house is shared and enjoyed by lots of people and it also brings people to Margate so they can enjoy it too. We have also been quite inspired by practicearchitecture.co.uk and assemblestudio.co.uk recently and that kind of community contribution/involvement/hands on approach made us think that the house needn't be a closed loop. In other words the money generated by sharing the house could be put back into Margate in terms of art, development or events. Or to simply help others with their social endeavours. There is a lot to think about before this turns into a formulated plan but I just thought it sounded rather exciting and I enjoy the idea of collaborating with people.
