Hi again friends! Happy Astrology Day!!
In honor of today, here is:
Midheaven Persona Chart Part 2
In this post we are going to discuss the outer planets in the Midheaven persona chart. Here are a few key points from the last past as a refresher:
The Midheaven persona chart is our role in society; it is how we contribute as individuals to the greater whole.
The Midheaven can be looked at as a point of higher spiritual awareness, as self-awareness is essentially what is required to become/tap into our higher selves.
It describes the goals we have in life, where we are striving to improve, who we are trying to become and ultimately the best way we can get there.
We are going to begin with Jupiter. In Astrology, Jupiter is typically a more spiritual planet for us to tap into. It can represent many great aspects of our lives and how we can master them so that we can enjoy life to the fullest extent. In the Midheaven persona chart, Jupiter shows us where and how we experience luck, a greater sense of achievement in our careers, and the traits that take us to the next level in our careers. The energy of Jupiter has the potential to enrich our lives and bring in limitless possibilities and an abundance of opportunities. Using the traits/qualities of the sign that Jupiter is in can guide you on how to improve your career path and reach your goals easier.
For example: In my MC persona chart, Jupiter is in Leo. It is actually one of my most noticeable planets in the chart because it is in the 10H and conjunct the Midheaven itself by 2 degrees. So this becomes even more important because of the conjunction. This means that it is important I have the opportunity and freedom to shine and do things my own unique way in my career. Remember how I mentioned that working in retail has always been something I’ve succeeded at? I can attribute some of that to this placement in my Midheaven persona chart. It gives me an extra boost of confidence, creativity and optimism that I carry with me on an almost daily basis.
The energy of Leo and Jupiter combined is exuberant, lavish, sparkly and generous at the same time. In the workplace, when I am able to be a beacon of positivity, I attract more positivity and abundance. I can attract more connections as well due to the social influence of these two energies. This energy is most prevalent in the 10H which means that it is easily seen through my reputation, my way of presenting myself, and of course–in the workplace. Rachel Lang, an intuitive astrologer says that luck as well as abundance comes to Jupiter in Leo through the creative and self-expression. Being unapologetically authentic is key to the success of this placement. But doing so with grace, care, and mindfulness so as not to upset the balance.
Reflection: The placement of Jupiter shows where you should focus all this good, positive, loving and abundant energy. We all possess these qualities but don’t always utilize them. If your Jupiter is in Leo, creativity and self-expression is essential for your career path. If it were in a sign such as Scorpio, introspection, change and transformation will be essential to your career path. The sign is the “how” energy and the house position is the “where” energy. So, think how can I utilize the qualities of my Jupiter sign and where can this energy be manifested in the highest possible way?
Moving onto Saturn, an energy that is quite different from Jupiter, but really they are two sides of the same coin. Both are teachers in their own way. Saturn represents restrictions, setbacks and where we will have to overcome obstacles to improve our lives. It shows us the crumbly foundation and throws a few curveballs at us so that we eventually create more stability. Saturn can tire you out if you refuse to learn the lessons, you will keep facing the same problem. With Pluto, you often don’t have a choice, as Pluto threatens to throw you to the wolves so you learn how to come back stronger leading the pack. With Saturn, if you don’t want to learn, it’s fine as long as you are prepared to live with the crumbly foundation and all the consequences of it. In the Midheaven persona chart, the placement of Saturn will often show you the struggles you may have in your career–especially in the beginning. It can also show where you need to experience more growth and become more disciplined and organized.
For example: If you had Saturn in the 8H of your Midheaven persona chart, you might struggle with asking for help and can easily miss out on opportunities that might have given you an easier time accomplishing your goals. This is mainly due to feeling a lack of trust toward others. So, feeling a sense of support is often lacking early on and you may feel that you will have to go it alone for a while. This placement calls for an analysis on our relationship to others’ resources. Paranoia can accompany this placement and feeling the need to keep goals and the inner life private can be heavily prevalent. But as I mentioned a moment ago, opportunities can easily be missed if discernment isn’t used. Often, there can be a lack of trust in corporations or large committees as well. These feelings often trace back to a particular job or experience which should be looked to as a learning lesson.
The sign makes a difference in the sense that it shows how this lack manifests. For example, a Gemini Saturn manifests as a lack of knowledge and communication setbacks. Often, these individuals are too afraid to ask for help, voice their concerns in the workplace and can have a fear of looking unintelligent, uncreative or unqualified. Imposter syndrome can be a huge setback in this individual's case.
Reflection: To better utilize the energy, as well as become better equipped to deal with obstacles, step outside your comfort zone when given the choice. Especially if it involves an area that is directly demonstrated in the Midheaven persona chart.
Now let’s discuss Uranus. In Astrology Uranus rules over change, usually abrupt change. Contrary to Saturn, Uranus seeks to push the boundaries and seeks to move past all limitations. In the Midheaven persona chart, Uranus is an area that you seek to bring innovation, creativity, and an outsider’s perspective to.
For example: If someone has Uranus in the 4H of their MC persona chart, they will likely work to create shifts in the foundation of their chosen career path. They can be seen as outsiders when entering a new job and if there are favorable aspects, they may receive promotions very suddenly. These individuals may switch jobs often because they don’t necessarily like to stay in one place too long. They intuitively know that their unique and wide range of skills can be utilized in many environments. Their style of doing things can be very unique and oftentimes seen as eccentric. This makes them highly valued employees–if they choose to stay long enough. Due to the 4H ruling over the home, these individuals may find that they travel or move a lot later in life due to their careers. This is enjoyable though because as I mentioned previously, these guys don’t like to be tied down too long.
Reflection: Now, with these outer, generational planets, the sign doesn’t matter as much, even less so considering we are analyzing the Midheaven persona chart. The one thing to keep in mind is that the house position of Uranus will describe what sudden changes you may experience in your career path. If it were in the 3H or 11H, those changes could be in either the communication or technology realm. You may have to learn to do things differently quite often. Looking at the aspects will help paint a more well-rounded picture. In my Midheaven persona chart, my Uranus makes a trine to my Saturn. This allows me to adjust to changes easily and adapt to new routines better as well. Throughout my working life, I have always had a rather easy time adjusting to new jobs. For me, it is like adjusting to a new season in my life. I welcome the change and try my best to fit it into my life.
Let me provide a few more examples (make sure to look for a 2 degree orb or less):
Ascendant–Uranus aspects: Your image, reputation is associated with originality and you can give off a rebellious streak. You will like to do things your own way and seldom do things because others are. A trendsetter in your career, with dreams of making the world work better.
Sun–Uranus aspects: As an individual, you can be eccentric and have a unique way of expressing yourself. Your talents lie in being innovative, intelligent, creative and fun to work with. On projects, you are usually full of ideas and can easily become a leader amongst peers.
Mercury–Uranus aspects: Full of ideas and can easily find ways to implement them. Talents lie in brainstorming and finding quick solutions. Not the best at planning and seldom likes to stick to schedules, but still maintains their independence while being great at what they do.
Moon–Uranus aspects: Requires independence and freedom to be creative. Can be incredibly understanding and has great interpersonal skills too. This person is finely tuned to the energy of the workplace and often knows what adjustments need to be made. Can intuit information easily as well and they can adapt rather quickly to new career paths.
Venus–Uranus aspects: Able to grab attention quickly and draw others in. These individuals have good interpersonal skills and know how to be well-liked. Harsher aspects can indicate that these guys may not be well perceived at first but nonetheless leave people wanting more. The mesh of Venus–Uranus is hard to resist as people feel you are unique, original and magnetic. As Venus is aligned with values, you value environments that contribute to humanity in some way. You value originality, courage, change, eccentricity (especially in style), and unique expressions of beauty. If this were prominent in your MC persona chart, you would likely make a great interior designer and your work could be considered very eccentric and original.
Mars–Uranus aspects: Not afraid of challenges. Is a go-getter and likes to see results quickly. Needs to take time planning a bit more and putting their goals into perspective, but still manages to get things done–effectively at that. Can have a lot of scattered energy if not taken care of. This is powerful energy because it gives you drive, ambition and creativity. Which is bound to see results sooner or later. Is also willing to take risks which can be a good thing.
Saturn–Uranus aspects: Can be dependable or not depending on how secure they feel in their goals. Has an easier time implementing ideas and strategies but if these individuals don’t see results fast enough, they will move in another direction without hesitation.
Jupiter–Uranus aspects: Loves to gain a new perspective and thus is interested in many paths, especially spiritual, travel related or any career where they are able to expand. Can be very open-minded and this is great as it can open up many opportunities. Is also attracted toward career paths that inspire.
Next is Neptune, and in Astrology Neptune rules over the metaphysical, art, illusions, glamours, dreams, visuals such as photography, film, dance and other forms of artistic expression. In the Midheaven persona chart, it can represent career ideals and your highest hopes. I will even go as far as to say, it can represent your “dream career.”
For example: In my MC persona chart, my Neptune is in the 3H. I would say one of my dream careers is to be a writer, which I kind of already am haha. The expression of Neptune in the 3H–which relates to communication and mediums such as writing, singing etc. is typically artistic. In some way shape or form, Neptune seeks to express its beauty and love for fantasy through art. So, find out where Neptune sits at in your MC persona chart to determine how this energy may manifest for you in your career, goals, and reputation. If it’s on the Ascendant or even the Midheaven itself, you may have a reputation for being very compassionate, sweet, artistic, and even alluring.
Reflection: Neptune is rather shadowy and this indicates that you may not notice or express these traits until you have achieved some kind of enlightened state, due to Neptune ruling over spirituality and the metaphysical. The aspects can help to paint a better picture as mentioned previously with Uranus. Either way, Neptune represents career ideals and can represent our dream career to an extent. So, with that being said, look to the aspects with orbs of 2 degrees or less. I'll list some examples below :)
Ascendant–Neptune: Your image and reputation is associated with spirituality, dreaminess, fantasy, art and all things considered to be Neptunian. You are the person who people wonder about. These aspects are associated with a kind of star quality. The individuals are usually quite mysterious or elusive and leave others wanting to know more. It is similar to Uranus in the sense that it casts you in a light that appeals to many. You may instinctively seek out opportunities that align with your inner vision of a better future.
Sun–Neptune: Your sense of self and your identity is aligned with the ideals of compassion, unconditional love, and appreciation for the lives of others. Being a beacon of understanding and love for others.
Moon–Neptune: Knowing that your emotional world is closely tied to how much you feel you are contributing to those around you. Can easily form close relationships in the workplace.
Mercury–Neptune: This can point to musical and writing abilities. The relationship between Mercury and Neptune is highly creative, intuitive and sensitive to the world around. The imagination is very colorful, beautiful and at times, unrealistic. When the energy is channeled properly and there is a balance, these individuals can be highly inspirational and can have many people looking up to them. It’s beautiful when used to help the collective. That is the key because Neptune is a generational planet and we share it with millions. The best way we can capture the energy’s full potential, is to think in terms of the collective. These individuals also have easier access to the collective imagination. They can channel ideas that many will be attracted to because it is already floating around in the collective imagination. Beautiful.
Venus–Neptune: These individuals are also highly creative. They have a love for all things abstract and of a “different world”. They seek to transcend the normal ideas of beauty and feel drawn toward professions that allow them to express their creativity. Their goal is to show others how to see life through a different lens. To see the beauty as well as the ugly. These individuals really value compassion, love, closeness and the magical part of life. They seek it in everything and this also makes them highly attractive. Often, others will see them through an entirely different lens compared to how they truly are. This allows these individuals to kind of get whatever they want, and their desires typically come to them with ease.
Mars–Neptune: The connection between Mars and Neptune can be super powerful. Mars is a very focused, self-motivated energy. It is direct and knows what it wants. Neptune kind of blurs those boundaries. Neptune sometimes doesn’t know what it wants, but really it is less about what Neptune wants, and more about the collective. The combination of these two energies represents an individual that must get others to be inspired to follow them. Using force or manipulation may work in the beginning, but ultimately after a while, it is useless. There must be a fine balance but this balance is heavily dependent on how well the individual is able to meet their desires while influencing others to go after what they want. These individuals want to be influential and powerful. It is simply a matter of not losing your own individuality. So some advice would be to watch out for staying in jobs that make you feel as a doormat or where you feel unable to assert what you want. Pursue jobs that allow you to utilize your gifts and share your power. These individuals also work best when they can utilize their natural energy levels and honor their body and life-force energy.
Saturn–Neptune: I think this placement is rather wonderful as it allows one to form a vision and then take the steps needed to implement it. Even better if Mars is involved. Neptune being highly creative, imaginative and intuitive, and Saturn having the discipline, patience and persistence enables these individuals to really create something long-lasting. They stand out as employees due to this energy and would make excellent mentors.
Jupiter–Neptune: These aspects, depending on their strength, can give massive star quality. Often looked to as beacons of inspiration, these individuals are infused with high amounts of compassion and unconditional love for humanity. In their careers, they are often seen as the “mystic.” They are able to portray this powerful, lingering energy of spirituality and optimism. These individuals love to share their good faith and can always find the lessons within hardships. These types are dreamers as well and they often have dreams that seem too big to attain to others, but they know that with faith and belief in oneself, anything is possible. I am a believer of this notion and it is quite true. If you believe in yourself, the Universe will kindly move mountains to get you to where you want to be. One downside of this placement is that sometimes the vision is there, but the willpower is not. Being able to take the steps to get to where you want to be is a huge determining factor of whether or not you reach your goals. These individuals can be quite lucky as well but when they take advantage, the Universe will put obstacles on their path with no hesitation.
Moving onto Pluto, in this Midheaven persona chart, Pluto represents: hardships that we must get through, where/how we transform our careers, where we find our power as well as where we may lose our power.
Pluto can be a do or die placement. I mean, truly we die either way. Pluto will strip from your life anything that is not necessary until there is almost nothing left. It can leave us feeling defeated when in reality, to meet the highest version of ourselves, sacrifices and loss must occur. It is through these losses, trials and tribulations that true transformation and power emerge. And boy is it powerful when we allow it to happen. I like to tell people that the Universe is 100% not against you, there is just a version of us that has everything we desire and is living out its fullest potential. For us to get there, things have to change. It is different for everyone. So, in our Midheaven persona chart, think of Pluto as the things you have to face head on in order to reach your fullest potential. There is no cheating with Pluto and definitely no beating around the bush. If you don’t come for it, it will come for you, and the ladder is a lot more difficult.
For example: In my MC persona chart, Pluto is conjunct my Moon and in my 2H. This can indicate that my self-worth is directly related to how secure I feel in my career and ambitions. If I feel that I’m not doing enough to meet my goals, then it’s almost like some kind of transformation is calling my name. Because why am I not doing enough? Do I not feel that I can achieve my goals? This can also indicate that my emotions can fluctuate based on how secure my finances are. Which I think is true. I have found that if a job is underpaying me, there will be an immense, almost insurmountable disdain I feel and it will show in my work. I learned my lesson not too long ago with a job that was underpaying me. I knew that I wanted to leave and I wasn’t hiding it either, however, I also wasn’t really looking for anything better. I had a feeling that something was going to happen, either I was going to blow up and quit or be fired. It was the ladder. I knew something was coming but my disdain had me in such a tight grip that I couldn’t even begin to focus on seeking better. The Universe–Pluto in particular decided enough was enough and that was it. Like I said, I knew something was going to happen but I ignored it. Realistically, I could have quit and been completely fine, I was simply held back by this immense fear. Pluto came in and showed me that it wasn’t as bad as I thought, even though I was fired. I was having an internal struggle that was indeed affecting my emotional state–I was really angry having to go in to work at that job. One of the lessons being, if you don’t want something, the Universe will take it from you and it is always for our own benefit. I felt immense relief afterward and determination as well. It was exactly what I needed even though it did bring me a little bit of fear and anger. I was able to take control of my finances despite it seeming like it was out of my hands. So, as a final lesson, I learned to not settle for less than I deserve. Pluto is a driving force for me in my career as it gives me that push I need to seek out better financial opportunities.
Reflection: In the Midheaven persona chart, look to Pluto to find out where you can find your own personal power. Furthermore, pay attention to Pluto because it will show you where you will experience loss and this can give you the key to learning how to transform it. To quote a previous post of mine, Pluto in the Midheaven persona chart shows us, “Where and how you will transform on the path to success. How success and reaching your goals will change you. The power struggles that will come along with reaching your goals. What you’re willing to sacrifice and let go of in the pursuit of your goals. What will inspire great fear in you in regard to your future”. It is indeed powerful and should not be overlooked.
Lastly, I want to briefly touch on the North Node in the Midheaven persona chart. This is also a pretty powerful point as it shows us where we will experience the most lessons in our careers. It is similar to Pluto in that way, but the North Node isn’t as intense and it is much more laid back. The North Node can help us to evolve and point us in the right direction. Look to see where yours lies and you will have an idea of where you are meant to experience the most growth in your career. That will give you an idea of what your main focus should be in any career/job you have.
For example: In my MC persona chart, my North Node is at Gemini in the 7H and it is trine my 3H Neptune. So, from this we could deduce that my focus should be on communication with my peers and collaborating with peers on ideas. Furthermore, working to improve my relationships through communication, and mutual understanding is key. When I go to work, my first goal should be to engage with my peers and if possible–be a helping hand (no pun intended.) I am going to touch more on the North Node in a future post, similar to this one but for now, I will leave you with that. I hope you enjoyed reading this and as always, I am open to questions and dialogue. Thanks for being here, you are forever and always appreciated.
A huge thank you:
To everyone who has supported me, shared positivity and love. To those of you who have helped me to learn, by asking questions and talking with me. To those of you who have been patient, kind and generous throughout this process. Most of all, thank you for being here on this journey with me. I love learning with you guys and sharing this beautiful knowledge. I pray that we all are able to emerge from difficult times with strength, grace and wisdom and I am sharing my love with you all in hopes that it gives you the strength you may need to carry on today, tomorrow and every day after. <333
