Born & raised in #BloomingtonIndiana (#1967), #JoshuaBell has had a distinguished career as a #ConcertViolinist. He studied violin as a child, & remained in his #Hometown to further his #violin studies @ #IndianaUniversity. He as been named an #IndianaLivingLegend & received the #IndianaGovernorsArtsAward. In 2007, he was awarded the #AveryFisherPrize @ #LincolnCenter in New York City. Today's featured item in #AutographsForTheAges is his CD recording of the #TshaikovskyConcertoinDMajorForViolinAndOrchestra w/#BerlinPhilharmoniker, conducted by #MichaelTilsonThomas, #2005. In #2007, in an experiment done via the help of the #WashingtonPost, he went #Incognito & played violin 🎻 in the #WashingtonDC subway 🚋 system, being passed by 1,097 people & only 7 stopped to listen to him. I hope he got applause 👏🏿...Sadly, the priorities of #AmericanCulture don't encourage daily appreciation of fine arts or music 🎶. We just can't get enough of #JaneLynch being part of the #ImperialCollection of #AutographsForTheAges. "What is their relationship?" Some people will pry into anything these days. "Are they experimenting," some wonder aloud. Well, my DVD copy of #BestInShoe is also signed by #FredWillard & #MichaelHitchcock. #ChristopherGuest, like John Waters, features many of the same actors in several of his #Comedies. The #NeuroticDogOwners do seem a trifle #WayBeyond. The #EnsembleWork is particularly #DiamondSharpBrilliant here. I put my admission on Facebook about my initial viewing experience. Sooo Indiana. Here's another treat: it rated #PG13, #ParentsStronglyCautioned. What does that mean? That the #Dogs have more class & Intelligence than Donald Trump? Final Screening last week for the 23rd #SanFranciscoSilentFilmFestival was #BusterKeaton in the self-directed #BattlingButler (#1926). He did it all scripted, development of character(s), & even cut his own film (editing) & the perfect stunts demanded by the comedic situations that made him famous. This #FilmPosterArt, created for this event by #JCGarrett, completes these entries. #PhysicalComedy, & his seeming lack of emoting, took the work of Buster Keaton to a new level of allowing the audience to be in on #ObservingAbsurdity. This more intimate method of working around mere slapstick gave his work the amazing freshness that it has for 21st Century Audiences throughout the world. His work was more like a ballet that gets beyond the chorus, embracing the charm that day-to-day foibles often brings our way. He made it funny.
