Ich habs mal aus dem Regal geholt, abgestaubt, und nachdem ich die, ähh, interessante Cutszene am Anfang verdaut hatte, mal ein neues Spiel gestartet. Speichern funktioniert, das einzige Problem, das aufgetreten ist, ist, dass bei einigen Schriftrollen Ecken fehlen. Aber alles lesbar.

Was ich allerdings machen musste, war erstmal das Autostart-Menu schließen, und mit "schließen" meine ich "abstürzen lassen". Dann den Inhalt der CD geöffnet, und autorun.exe in den Kompatibilitätsmodus Windows XP (Servicepack 2) gesetzt und "Als Administrator ausführen" geklickt. Danach hat die Installation funktioniert. Ich habe NICHT die vorgeschlagene DirectX-Version installiert, die neueste ist ja eh vorhanden.

Die Grafikkarten-Abfrage beim ersten Spielstart hat meine Radeon RX 580 erkannt und die Auflösung festgelegt (konnte ich nicht manuell ändern). Geöffnet hat sich das Spiel allerdings auf meinem zweiten Monitor, der zufälligerweise ähnlich alt ist wie das Spiel selbst. Beim zweiten Spielstart zu Testzwecken hat das Spiel dann die Onboard-Grafik erkannt und sich auf dem "richtigen" (sprich nicht antiken) Monitor geöffnet. Dabei aber auch irgendwie temporär die Display-Priorität getauscht. Hat immer noch funktioniert und den Spielstand geladen.

Die Version des Spiels, die ich habe, ist die Green Pepper-Edition. Für die existiert wohl auch ein Patch, der ist aber seit 2003 nicht mehr aktualisiert worden.

Grundsätzlich spiele ich auf Windows 10, neuester Stand, mit einer Intel-CPU und der oben genannten Radeon. Windows-Firewall und Avast Free Antivirus, was möglicherweise eine Rolle spielen könnte, weil ich schon mehrmals bizarre Interaktionen zwischen Spielen und meinem Antivirenprogramm hatte.

Edit: Ich hab auch den Installationspfad geändert, nicht auf C:\ installiert sondern G:\.

Sagt mal, es befinden sich nicht zufälligerweise unter meinen Followern Experten darin, ein altes Computer-Spiel von 2002 so zum laufen zu kriegen, dass es auch speichern kann? Selbst dann wenn der einzige Steam Forumbeitrag zu dem Problem keine Lösung hat?
