"please don't tell me you're going to die right here in this subway. that would really make this the worse fuckin' night of my life. though you don't look much better. what happened? wait, no, let me guess. d-i-y blood drive?"

for as corny of a joke it was, he chuckled out a coughing fit. if he was going to die here, at least he didn't have to hear another shitty one-liner. 

vision going black, he keeled over on the metal bench.

"shit." the last thing he felt were the stranger’s hands shifting his body. "hold on, john. i gotcha."

wednesday 100 x hobie brown

author's notes: christmas in july june! randomly thought about the trans-siberian orchestra this morning and needed an idea for today's #wednesday100 so here we are. idk why, but i feel like hobie would enjoy seeing them in concert. probably would be the only genre of christmas music he'd ever listen to. if you're looking for the specific inspiration i had for this, here's the youtube link to the performance.

despite your initial excitement for scoring tickets to see the trans-siberian ocrhestra, you weren't entirely sure how well your holiday gift to hobie was going to be received. the first time christmas was brought up, he called it "pagan-coded capitalistic propaganda," but the anxiety that knotted your stomach was worth it the second you saw his posture perk up as the first guitar riff shredded over the string section's beginning chords, the drums crashing into attention.

leaning in, you wrapped your arms around his waist.

"merry christmas?" you asked.

his lips pulled into a smirk before he replied, " 'appy christmas."
