Back to WW2 aircraft for this design inspired by a B-17G called “Texas Raiders”. Interestingly the real life Texas Raiders B-17G has a naval background and served as a PB-1W Patrol Bomber. She was later given the “Texas Raiders” name in the 1960s as a memorial to Texas aviators who served. 🤙😎 . . B17g Flying Fortress.  This is the Texas Raiders operated by the Commemorative Air Force in Conroe Texas.  It was at the New Century Air Center in Gardner Kansas the first of June.  What a treat to tour this aircraft.

Texas Raiders, a fully restored B-17 Flying Fortress coming in to land today. Texas Raiders was the first Flying Fortress to be operated solely for the sake of preservation and use as a flying museum. She is one of the most accurately restored B-17’s, and bristles with machine guns and features a period-specific radio compartment and the Norden bombsight. #b17texasraiders #📷paultodd-outsideimages.com
