First and foremost we need to give all the praise, honor, and glory to our Heavenly Father! Miracles do happen and this little guy surely is one of them! It's been a long week, most certainly the longest of our lives... and we are so grateful and so thankful for our FAMILY (church family, friends who are family, etc.) who have been praying for baby Michael since his arrival last week. It wasn't easy going home without him last Saturday evening, and just the thought alone made me so mad that I refused to accept it and was trying to think of ways I could stay at the hospital with my son. Then I quickly remembered that my wife who just went through a major surgery (cesarean) needed rest, time to recuperate, and to sleep in her own bed. So we prayed, you all prayed for us, and we asked God for strength and peace. Let me tell you that the peace we received was the kind that surpasses our human understanding, so comforting—we knew whose HANDS baby Michael was in—there was no doubt this was His will! Not an easy thing to accept by any means especially for a new parent, not knowing what lies ahead, but we trusted His purpose and His timing for the precious little life entrusted to us. God has a reason for everything and as difficult as it can be to accept that at times, it's even more difficult to try and carry the burden alone or attempt to control something you simply cannot. We chose to lay it at His feet! For all of the prayers, FB messages, texts, food deliveries, encouragement, daily checkups, Venmo's sent, phone calls and more prayers... we cannot say THANK YOU enough! I've been so blessed in my 34 years of life to have been watched over, looked after, prayed for, supported and provided for by so many people that God has strategically placed in my life that it literally breaks me down to tears (of JOY) when I think of it all and realize that my beautiful family has that exact same continued love and support everyday of our lives! This is one of Elisa's favorite pictures (mine too) and she has been waiting YEARS to reenact it! We've been so fortunate, and prayed for quite some time that God would bless us with this opportunity... and now that baby Michael is here we are completely in awe! 2019 was a crazy/busy year, to say the least, and as it wrapped up I kept telling myself that 2020 was going to be the year of CHANGE! I'm not one who's real big on "resolutions" or anything like that because I feel like whenever YOU decide to do something, and really set your mind to it, you WILL do it and there's no time frame... but again, I just knew that in 2020 God was going to do some GREAT things for us, as He always does! We're a little over 3 months in now, and a lot is going on already but the biggest CHANGE we will see this year is such a tremendous blessing I can't even begin to describe! God has provided a little miracle, and it's been growing inside Elisa since December! Yup, baby Amey will be coming this summer - August! 👶🏽💙🙏🏽 With our crazy work schedules being the exact opposite, and lots of OT last year, it took quite some time and we tried not to lose hope or be discouraged... but in God's perfect timing, which is how most AMAZING things happen, we will finally be joining the "parenthood" club, and could not be more excited to share this news!
