Very useful in a ROM hack where I can catch every Pokemon up to Gen 5 from the start and therefor that feature was already unlocked.

I have a Suicune, buddy! That's not in the Regional Dex!

What’s the difference between the rom hack and regular black 2? Besides what you mentioned it doesn’t seem too different.

Well, outside of the wider selection of Pokemon (and consequently, the additional wild encounters) trainers are a bit harder and on average tend to have three Pokemon even on the early routes, and Gym Leaders use actual competitive strats and have more Pokemon (Cheren had three, Roxie had four).

I've never played the regular version but based on a few quick Bulbapedia searches those are the differences I've noticed.

I got really excited for a moment because a female Gothetelle usedd Attract on my Zoroark disguise as my female Serperior and it worked and I was like "Yes! Pokemon can now be gay! Best rom hack ever!" but then I remembered the Zoroark is male and just copies the gender signifier in addition to the Pokemon's name. Sad day.
