Story time. During the early 2010s, I had a copy of soul silver. I wasn't much of a shiny hunter then, and I wanted to play through the game again.

Naturally, I pick chikorita. I knew I needed a friend before Falkner, and this Gen added grass with Mareep in it before the guy who stopped you if you tried to progress before beating the flying gym.

I decided mareep was a good catch before sprout tower. So i head into the yall grass.

And she cane, pink and fluffy, my first shiny since I failed a voltorb in crystal by running away!

I named her Aradia, after the homestuck troll.

A month later, after we climbed to greatness. I lost the game. I never found it.

Fast forward, and I'm doing a shiny badge quest. I see a mareep outbreak, and I think back. I miss my floof...

So I knock out a few, and reset. Then he came, floody and pink. A worthy successor to her

Met Amphere. Him and Siriacha are going to go places.

And I'm not losing him.

decided that in my Violet game since Scarlet is my actual main playthrough i wanted to do a badge quest! in which you find a shiny before every single badge, and in this game theres 18 compared to the 8 in other games lol

everyone has their own set of rules for these quests but in mine im doing full odds shinies only. no sandwhich boosts, no outbreak boosts (i can hunt outbreaks but cant trigger the boosted odds), and no masuda breeding (i can hatch eggs, they just still have to be full odds)

after about 6 hours, meet number 1, Gumball! who will fight titan klawf so i can move faster than a snail for the next hunt

I'm gonna make the White 2 file that I got Tepig in into a badge quest, which means getting a shiny before every gym badge.

Started a Gen 9 badge Quest and after 8 hours I got my first shiny.

I then got a second one 5 minutes later before i beat the titan

Meet Big-Boi. 16th shiny of Badge Quest. Don’t ask why I named him that. Stuff was on my mind. Also my eyes hurt during the day hunting this guy.

Just a little over three hours since Forbidden. It’s crazy to think the quest is almost over. Seems like the game is giving me longer hunts so I can stay lol.

But I started my Violet badge quest and these are so far all the shinies I got so far! taking a break on the quest to finish my Dracozolt hunt in Sword!

Also got all of these in 4 days! one shiny per day which is nuts considering my luck I have had on Scarlet haha

Full Odds Scarlet SBQ - pt. 1

My life is... a little difficult right now. I sometimes think I'm paying off enough karmic points that I must have been Ghengis Khan or Jack the Ripper in a previous life. But then maybe it's just that I'm saving them up for days like this...

I didn't think I'd ever top holding the gold attendance belt, or being serenaded by the Sweet Inspirations but when they tried to hand me the TCB ring I had to take a minute because I wasn't sure if I was going to cry, throw up or scream. Whatever noise I did make made the people around me laugh.

I am so lucky, so lucky. And all the suffering? Well, most of it, was totally worth it to earn this.

Understand I haven't completed the full story for Violet yet, but I would do anything for this kid. He deserves some positiveness in his life rn ;u;
