it just hit me that like. As of future, the only official way for a gem to "die" is to completely override any of the information in the gem, ie what rose did to make steven. Even shattering at this point is repairable, though not perfectly. on god they really are aliens

#i do still think if the diamond attack included pink somehow it would have actually killed them permanently #basically by erasing the gem data instead of corrupting it #i guess also if you shattered a gem badly enough that you simply couldn't possibly glue the pieces together again #like if you ground one to dust... fucked up!
