OC* Stuff (Ivor 1.00)

The final part.. with the new portrait I did... (it looks eerie to me..)

Lol.. it's just a lot of faces.. and they all look different.. ehrmmmm.. I've always envisioned Ivor with the same features (I even made a little guide for my friend, which, ironically, has Ivor still looking different) but the principle of the features are there. It's just dependent on my ability that day and my adherence to proportions.

Anyway, Ivor visually didn't really change much after a certain point. it was just adjustments to his and Sasha's story that determined how I split up the iterations. I realize I haven't said much about their story or anything, and I don't believe it would be evident from the drawings alone. I hesitate to summarize it all here for my own integrity. Maybe in Sasha's post I'll try and say more. I'm not being evasive to be mysterious, I just don't know if I should explain the story like it matters.

Also, I feel like there is a femininity to Ivor that I've only come to realize now as I look at some of these drawings. He is pretty motherly in my head, so I guess that makes sense. Him and Sasha pretty often tread lines of femininity in their own ways.

Anyway, that's Ivor's posts done. This felt the most daunting to organize. I feel like I'm forgetting some drawings (I know there is one of Ivor having a really stiff smile, but I can't for the life of me remember if I scanned it and it isn't in my organized folders... aghhh).

Next characters unfortunately also require portraits (me when I have to abide by the rules I set for myself) so I'll see how long that takes me and if I get too conscious of potential same face syndrome. Until then...

OC* Stuff (Ivor 0.75~1.00)

We continue..

Ok, so, later on I will be making a post for OCs that were created just because of JoJo. In another world, Ivor (and the other guy, Sasha) would've ended up in that pile, because this iteration of him is so extremely inspired by JJBA, specifically part 7. Having a dynamic between him and Sasha (will be posted about in a couple posts) was directly because of Johnny and Gyro. I also developed a sort of surrealist element which was initially an excuse to give them Stand-like creatures. That actually still carries over to the new version. They even look more Jojoesque with posing and designs, which would be significantly more toned down once I figured out what the story was and what I was doing with it.

But yeah, going through this step was important for developing them into their final iterations, which will be the next post. For now, some previews of it (and the stand like thing I mentioned):

OC* Stuff (Ivor 0.50~0.75)

Continuing on from where we left off...

Alright, so this iteration of Ivor was a mix of two things: inspiration from The Doors song Riders on the Storm and kinda sharing OCs with a friend? The shared OC being the blond person who I would eventually change into my own OC, as you can see by me scribbling out the name Viktor. Anyway, Ivor here would be on the run for murder, hence the song Riders on the Storm. In current iterations that is not Ivor's story, but many aspects developed here would go onto be relevant to the current iteration, such as the development of Viktor into Sasha or that Ivor has a sister.

Now, here is the 0.75 version, aka almost accurate to the current iteration (except there are little inaccuracies here and there which are a bit more specific to address, so just trust me). The most significant change here is that I consistently started to draw Ivor's birthmark (but still forgot on occasion). More explanation about inspiration will be in the next post. Also, once again, excuse some bad art..

OC* Stuff (Ivor 0.25~0.50)

So, Ivor is inarguably my most drawn OC, so I will have to be splitting up his posts into 4. Also, I split them up by iteration, which I'll explain under each (it's only 3 really). Anyway, the first stuff for Ivor (which will be less good art first, to make it chronological kinda) may surprise those who are aware of his current iteration (aka 1 or 2 people):

Okayyyy, that's a lot of stuff, and it all seemingly looks different, and I guess it's all technically different.. so... let me explain.

The initial inspirations for Ivor were two essential things: Naomi Smalls of Rupaul's Drag Race S8 fame and a specific OC from this person called Rodney (if you can recall the artist then you'll be able to tell quite quickly). I pretty unabashedly just took these two things and made them melt together. I was really in love with Naomi Small's beauty and her height in particular, so I literally made Ivor be a drag queen as Ivory. Yeah, there is no creativity here. And Ivor's look outside of drag was initially very reminiscent of this person's Rodney character.

Anyway, I think I had a little bit of shame and realized how unabashedly I had ripped off two different things, and shifted Ivor to just be a fashion model with no real story or goal. This changes with his second iteration, which I'll introduce here and explain in the next post. Oh, and because he was a fashion model, he occasionally interacted with Atsuko and Jun (as you can see in 2 drawings). But of course, this doesn't happen in his current iteration.

Anyway, from there on, Ivor transitions into his next iteration, which would pretty slowly lead him to the final iteration too. Here are some drawings of it, more to be seen in the next post:

It's not much.. but it's also an iteration I changed pretty quickly. Anyway, onto to the next post..
