There’s a specific type of grief you get from losing friends and family members who are trying to distance themselves from poverty.
#idk how to explain it but#I Never See or speak to my older sister#and so I have no relationship at all with my nieces#she also barely speaks to my dad outside of necessity#she’s way older than me too so I don’t know how her upbringing was because we have different mums#but I know they weren’t well off and now she’s bought hard into being the white Christian nuclear family#and also I’ve lost out on potential relationships with aunts uncles cousins etc#bc my parents don’t like the ‘way they live’#bc they work minimum wage jobs and live in small flats or council houses#and their big sin is being poorer than us#or poor in thw wrong way
