you know how swifties talk about the lover album being the saddest in taylor swift's discography (despite the pastels and upbeat music). that's what it's like being a little life fan going into 'the happy years'
#like yes axiom of equality is brutal and painful and impossible to read and very very long#BUT the happy years is MORE painful BECAUSE of the preceding section#bc like. you are watching jude's struggle to let someone in#after so much abuse and heartbreak#and the literally fleeting moment of happiness you get is then immediately SQUASHED over and over#and its like thats life! <3 and you're happy you read it#bc willem and jude got to have that little glimmer of peace together#but you're also like. this is somehow worse#than the horrific events in the previous chapters#ALL#a little life
