the problem with getting sensitivity readers is that it's a job and you have to pay them. which is fair but i don't have any money and it's highly doubtful that I'm going to make any
#ellistocracy.txt#thinking about maybe making a semi-public discord for marginalized indie writers (including fanfic!) to sensitivity read for each other#but like. i don't have any black friends! and i think that's a general failing on my part!#but i don't want to go out of my way to meet black people specifically because that feels tokenizing!#and i CERTAINLY don't want to invade black spaces just to be like ''hey i know nothing about you. it's your responsibility to fix this''#but research only goes so far! im never going to be confident that im writing a good and realistic character without feedback#anyway. anyone who thinks a group critique server sounds cool feel free to reach out#or anyone who already has one! I'd love to not be in charge#obviously from everything ive just said I'm specifically looking for feedback from black people (more specifically black women)#because the character im hyperfixated on the creation of rn is a black woman#but i have sooo many other characters I'll need help with in the future
