being a moderator is an. enlightening experience
#queued post#this is just a customer service job rebranded i think#obviously i am not about to publicly call out some of the wilder things i've had to deal with that's a dick move#but it's just like. the fact that there is these wilder experiences is just so. it's. wow#you really gain an appreciation for other moderators and well they handle it once you yourself are a moderator#managing a community is not always a terrible job! i find it fun usually#i honestly haven't even had any particularly horrible experiences#but BAFFLING experiences? *absolutely*#you will be asked questions you couldn't have even dreamed of#and you're not allowed to tell them 'what? fucking what? what?'#like how did you even come up with this. what?#i feel lucky the place i'm modding is 1) a smaller community so these baffling experiences are few and far between#2) run by higher ups that generally agree with me on complex issues and know how to be lighthearted about it.#being a mod for a bigger community with less communicative upper staff would be HELLLLLL#everyone give your community mods some love and affection cause jesus christ dude#its wild out there
