Kedarnath Travel - Attractions and Tips
I embarked on the Chardham Yatra, a four-site pilgrimage circuit, last year in India despite my firm belief that true pilgrimage (Yatra) is self-discovery as a part of the Supreme. I wouldn't have seen the beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas, the mysterious clouds, the various shades of green, rivers and waterfalls, glaciers and snow, and the zeal and faith of many pilgrims if I hadn't traveled for the pilgrimage?
The Chardham Yatra opens on Akshaya Tritiya (end of April or early May) after a cold winter and continues until Diwali (end of October or early November). One of India's most popular Hindu pilgrimage routes is the Kedarnath Yatra in Uttarakhand, which includes two Shakti sites—Yamunotri and Gangotri—and one of India's most popular Shaiva and Vaishnava sites—Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham, respectively. The trip's beauty and excitement, on the other hand, transcend religious boundaries.
One of India's most important pilgrimage destinations, Kedarnath is located at 11,755 feet atop the snow-covered Himalayas. It is also an important part of three pilgrimage circuits: the Chardham, Panch Kedar, and 12 Jyotirlingas (a pilgrimage circuit that includes 12 sites with self-manifested Lord Shiva shrines). If not for COVID-19, the Temple would not have opened today on this auspicious Akshaya Tritiya, as it does every year, and thousands of devotees would visit Kedarnath throughout the entire season. Therefore, today is the best day to visit Kedarnath.
Trekking Trail Details:
The must stay at a base before heading to the Kedarnath Temple; Guptkashi is the most popular place to stay. One could go with Soneprayag or Gaurikund. Taxis and buses can take you to these locations from Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun (Jolly Grant Airport). It takes between 7 and 9 hours. From Guptkasi/Gaurikund, there are two options for getting to Kedarnath Temple: by helicopter or by going on a 16-kilometer trek to complete Kedarnath Yatra
The Helicopter Ride Tips:
The Kedarnath travel guide to helicopter rides recommends traveling light. Seats and the number of passengers in a helicopter are allocated based on weight and fuel. Above 80 kg, there are additional fees; above 120kgs twofold ticket must be bought. The weight limit for luggage is 2 kg. Even if you intend to return the following day, it is critical to bring everything you need for a night's stay with you because the weather up there is so unpredictable that bad weather prompts the cancellation of helicopter services right away. One might be required to descend the following day in such a situation. You can request a reservation or assistance right away at one of the basic hotels, guest houses, or tents for shelter. One has two hours to visit the temple and return to the helipad at the base, which is 700 meters away, with the same-day round trip ticket. The expense of tickets shifts as indicated by the helipads from where one flies (full circle costs Rs4500-Rs6900). Phata, Sersi, and Sitapur are the helipads that chopper services use most frequently to fly to the Kedarnath base. The flight to the Kedarnath base, from which the easy 700-meter trek to the temple takes another 20 minutes, takes only 7-8 minutes.
Reaching in front of the temple and seeing the majestic snow-covered peak behind it instantly instills a sense of awe and wonder. Additionally, the chants and temple bells have a calming effect. 10/15 is ecstatic because space is an energy field where every sorrow appears to have been washed away. Around, there are a lot of devotees and interesting Sadhus (hermits and saints).
Behind the temple is an intriguing mythological tale. The Pandavas sought Lord Shiva in the Himalayas following the Battle of Kurukshetra to seek forgiveness for the deaths of their kin, the Kauravas. The second Pandava, Bhima, disguised as a bull and recognizing Lord Shiva, attempted to capture him. After that, the Bull fell into the ground, with various parts of his body emerging later. The hump remained in Kedarnath, while four additional parts appeared elsewhere. The five Panch Kedar temples in Uttarakhand are said to have been built by the Pandavas, according to legend. On Diwali, when the Kedarnath temple closes, the shrine is moved to Ukhimath, where it spends the winter.
According to the Kedarnath travel guide, there is a list of places that must be included in one's itinerary: Gandhi Sarovar or Chorabari Taal, a tranquil lake whose waters destroyed everything in the 2013 flood; Bhairava Temple is on the way to 15/15 Kedarnath temple and Rudra cave, which the Indian Prime Minister visited in 2019 for meditation. The cave is 0.5 kilometers from the temple. If you start from Gaurikund, you should definitely visit the Gauri Mata temple.
This Kedarnath travel package will definitely be of assistance to one. Kedarnath necessitates extensive planning and reservations in advance.

Do Dham Yatra
Do Dham Yatra is one of the famous Hindu pilgrimages in Uttarakhand that includes visiting the two significant holy sites, Badrinath and Kedarnath Shrines. When and how these pilgrims got associated with Do Dham, is not known yet. Although, both of these places have high relevance in Hinduism and have a legendary history.

Char dham Yatra Tour Package
Chardham Yatra is one of the best holy pilgrim yatra in India. Chardham Yatra is great yatra which is really memorable for lifetime. There are four most religious places over here which are together called the Char Dhams of Uttarakhand. Yamuntori (temple devoted of the goddess Yamuna), Gangotri (origin of the River Ganges and seat of the goddess Ganga), Kedarnath(one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu shrines of Shiva) and Badrinath (temple devoted of the goddess Vishnu) are the holy places which make up the Char Dham Yatra in Garhwal.
Uttarakhand is popularly termed as Land of Gods (Dev Bhoomi) as it houses sacred temples and pilgrimages. Every year, the char dham place attracts millions of spiritual seekers and pilgrims to seek enlightenment. Every Hindu person desires to visit this shrine at least once in their lifetime to attain ultimate salvation.
The char dham Yatra is the divine staircase that takes pilgrims closer to salvation. The journey starts from the Yamunotri and leads to Gangotri, Kedarnath, then concludes at Badrinath.
Char Dham Yatra Tour Package
The pilgrimage of char dham is the most popular and sacred place in India (Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri) is situated in the Garhwal region. These ancient temples also mark as a spiritual source of sacred rivers Yamuna (Yamunotri), Ganga (Gangotri), Mandakini (Kedarnath), and Alaknanda (Badrinath). These holy places are part of the Char Dham of Uttarakhand by Hindus. Char Dhams of Uttarakhand is generally termed Chota Char Dham of India.

In general, the char dham yatra tour package proceeds from the west to the east, which implies that the yatra starts from Yamunotri and then proceeds to Gangotri. Kedarnath and Badrinath are finally visited.
The spiritual trip of Chardham Yatra by helicopter can be the most memorable experience. This is highly comfortable for people with a time constraint. You can book your Char Dham yatra from Mumbai with Chardhamtours for the most peaceful journey.
The holy journey starts from the holy city Uttarakhand. Kedarnath yatra's duration is usually 02 Nights/03 days if you cover the yatra by helicopter from Phata or Guptkashi or Sonprayag. One can also cover the place by trek and stay there at Kedarnath for one night, and then the char dham yatra family package duration will extend to 03 Nights/04 days.

Panch Kedar Trek Uttarakhand, India | Himalayan Trek N Tour
PANCHKEDAR TREK
Uttarakhand is the only place in India, which is beautified with natural wealth as well as priceless fund of religion and philosophy. Uttarakhand is famous worldwide for the land of the Gods. Lord Shankar Mahadev of Gods considered this land the best place and blessed it.
There are many dhams of Bholeshankar ji all over India, but 12 of them are dham where Bhole Shankar has established his divine vision and his divine form in Jyotirlinga. Kedarnath is one such shrine located in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand, along with its beauty, is trained for the land of Gods throughout India.
Here people come from far away to offer prayers and visit Bhole. Panchkedar Shivji has different temples established, the first of which is Kedarnath, which is the 11th Jyotirlinga out of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
 1. KEDARNATH:
In the land of Uttarakhand, just as Panch Prayag, Panch Badri ji have the utmost glory of worshiping Darshan, similarly the worship of Panch Kedar ji is also an excellent fruit. The importance of the four dhams in Tretayug is mentioned in our religious texts. Similarly, the visit of Panchkadar has also been considered very important under Skanda Purana. Five forms of Panchkedar Artartha Bhagwan Shankar Ji Kedarnath, Madhyameshwar, Tungnath, Rudranath, and Kalpeshwar. Devotees have to come to Haridwar and Rishikesh to visit and visit these five dhams. Or to say that the first step for these four dhams is Rishikesh and Haridwar.
All devotees and trekkers go to meet Bhole Baba through the mountainous path covered with green forests. It is true that those who are related to Bhole Baba have joy in their lives. While looking at the scenes that amaze the beautiful charming eyes, when you go ahead, there are many stops along the way, one of such stops is Rudraprayag. Rudraprayag is situated at the confluence of Mandakini and Alaknanda.
There is a temple of ancient Rudranathji here. Here Lord Bhagwan Shankar ji has the same vision. After Rudraprayag, when you move further, then Agastyamuni temple comes on the way. Here Gauri Kund comes after a short rest. The distance of Gauri Kund is about 217 kilometers from Rishikesh. From Gaurikund, you now have to travel 14 kilometers further to Kedarnath. There is a system of horses and trails for elderly, sick, and destitute humans. Ram bada comes to a place on this road, after a short rest here and proceed.
Where did Kedarnath go to the "land"? Narayan Bhagavan, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, went to the Badrika Ashram and meditated intensely, as a result, Shivji appeared to him and asked to ask for a boon. Since then Kedarnath became famous as Kedareshwar Jyotirlinga. The Kedar region in Himachal Pradesh is considered to be the best and the sacred and fulfilling wishes. The height of Kedarnath is 3584 meters above sea level.
There is 11th Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva in Kedarpuri. For the philosophy of Bhole Baba, people from the common people come here every year. It is said that this temple was built by the Pandavas. The plate of this temple ordinarily opens on Akshaya Tritay after Deepawali. There are many places around this temple, which is very important, one of these places is Kalimath.
 2. MADHYAMESHWAR TAMPLE
This is another form of Lord Shiva. Madhyamaheshwar is visited from both Ukhimath and Guptkashi. From Guptkashi to Kalimath can be reached by a bus followed by a trek to Madhyameshwar. One has to travel 24 km from Munsuna. Those who visit Madhyameshwar always dwell in heaven. The Saraswati Kund located here is considered to be the Saraswati Ascension. Bathing is of utmost importance in this place. Its height is 3279 m from the sea level.
The construction of this temple is also considered by Pandavas. The nature here is very captivating and captivates the mind. It seems as if the creator of Bhole ji, the creator of creation, Brahmadev, has beautified himself with his own hands. Dharamshalas have been built for the travelers to stay here, and materials for worship are also available.
 3.  TUNGNATH TAMPLE
Tungnath temple is also a form of Bhole Shankar. Here too, worship of Bhole Shankar is worshiped. It is believed that this temple was also built by the Pandavas to pray to Lord Shiva, when he was disgusted by the massacre in Kurukshetra. It is said that before marriage, Goddess Parvati did penance of Lord Shiva at this place. Its height is 3460 meters from the sea level.
The height of this temple is the highest of all Panch Kedar. To reach this place, the journey along the shore of Alaknanda increases from Rishikesh via Srinagar. Looking at the Alaknanda River from the road, the green trees along the shore make them very happy. From Rudraprayag, we proceed to Chopta. There is a 3 km trek from Chopta to Tungnath. This place is very beautiful and beautiful.
 4. RUDRNATH TAMPLE
There is a 17 kilometer walk through the Anusuya temple. Atri Ashram is also seen on the way. The story of Mata Anusuya is trained on this. It is said that the three gods Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh took the form of a sage and visited Anusuya's hut. The three gods changed their condition in front of Mata Anusuya that they would accept food only from the hands of a garmentless woman.
Mother God Anusuya's divine vision was recognized by the three gods wearing sage form. In order to fulfill the wish of the three gods, to protect their saintliness, the three gods were made as little children and lay in the bed. It is 18  km from Chamoli and Gopeshwar. It is said about this Dham that this Dham is the best of all the pilgrimages, Lord Shiva resides in this area regularly. There is another legend here, when all the gods, fearing Angaddeya's tyranny, went to Bhole Baba and asked to be protected.
 5. KALPESHWAR TAMPLE
Kalpeshwar is before Joshimath, the journey to this dham starts from Helang Chatti. There are 4 kilometers on foot. After crossing the Alaknanda, the tunnel of nature moves ahead, staring at the atmosphere.
There is a mythological story about this dham, it is said that once the curse of the sage Durbhasha, Devraj Indra's happiness is over. Then Indra Dev came in the same place and did severe penance, then he received the Kalpa tree. Only after this did he get Indrasana again. Its height is 2137 m from the sea level. It is very enjoyable to visit Panchkadar.

7 Days Kedarnath Group Tour From Delhi with Rishikesh Stay
It sounds like you are planning a trip from Delhi to Rishikesh. The easiest way to get to Rishikesh from Delhi is by taking a train or a bus. You can take a train from Delhi to Haridwar or Rishikesh, and then take a taxi or a bus to Kedarnath. Alternatively, you can take a direct bus from Delhi to Rishikesh or Kedarnath. The best time to visit Kedarnath is from April to June and from September to November, as the weather is pleasant during these months. The monsoon season (July and August) can be quite unpredictable and it can be difficult to travel during this time.
If you plan a trip from New Delhi to Rishikesh. Take an early morning train or bus from New Delhi to Rishikesh (around 6-7 hours journey). Check-in at your hotel or homestay in Rishikesh. Visit the famous Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula bridges. Attend the evening Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan. You can travel from Rishikesh to Guptkashi, start your journey towards Guptkashi (around 7-8 hours drive). En-route, visit Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Kirti Nagar. Check-in at your hotel in Guptkashi.
There is currently no direct road from Rishikesh to Kedarnath. The existing route involves a combination of road and trekking. The closest road access to Kedarnath is through the town of Sonprayag, which is approximately 220 km from Rishikesh. From Sonprayag, there is a 20 km trek to Kedarnath, which takes around 6-7 hours to complete. Alternatively, you can hire a mule or a helicopter from Sonprayag to reach Kedarnath. In recent years, there have been plans for the Rishikesh to Kedarnath new road, but there has been opposition from environmentalists and local residents who are concerned about the impact on the fragile ecosystem of the area. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, there were no concrete plans or timelines for the construction of a new road. However, it's possible that there have been updates or changes since then.
You can hire a taxi from Guptkashi to Rishikesh. The distance between the two places is approximately 182 km and it takes around 5-6 hours to cover the distance. There are regular bus services from Guptkashi to Rishikesh. You can take a bus from the Guptkashi bus stand to Rishikesh. The journey takes around 6-7 hours. The nearest railway station to Guptkashi is Haridwar. You can take a train from Haridwar to Rishikesh, which is approximately 25 km away. The journey takes around 1 hour.
