Like I can imagine bbBetty making bbArchie have a fake wedding with her and bbJughead being forced into the role of minister or best man and watching the whole thing like: :( :( :(. While imagining himself in Archie's place.

Totally agree about Jug playing hard to get. In my headcanon, he was into her for a while but didn’t want to get involved in her drama with Archie and he was also a total loner so he didn’t attempt anything. Working on the murder mystery gave him the opportunity to make it happen

YES if they ever give us more flashbacks, I would love to see bbBetty looking sadly in Archie’s direction while bbJughead looks sadly in Betty’s direction. Honestly pre-series pining!Jughead is one of my favourite things and we need more fic about it.

but anyway he is very smooth in the Blue & Gold scene and Betty had no idea that inside he was dying. Very well played, Jughead Jones.

Riverdale 4x05

Truly this show’s greatest legacy.

Those serial killer genes, am I right!!! Giving our fave the power to identify other serial killers based on nothing but a black and white picture on a slideshow. Science!

While in general I am here for exploring Betty's "darkness," the serial killer gene take on it is.... we’ll say clumsy. TBH I hoped the serial killer gene storyline went missing along with Betty's camgirl storyline but here we are.

Betty's half brother IS hot, thank you Kevin.

So if Charles is also predisposed to serial killing, I think this means those pesky serial killer genes come from the Smith side of the family and NOT the Cooper side? Hey remember that time that Alice and Polly ganged up on Betty at the Farm and were all like “only you have these genes, NOT EVEN DAD HAS THAT GENE” but I mean if Charles and Betty both have it, doesn’t this mean it comes from the Smith line? So Alice has it too?..... I am trying to logic something that has no logic, aren’t I.

Betty spying on Charles from her car was super cute and precious though. Akskjsjshs I love that girl.

There was a serious lack of Betty/Jughead screentime this week. It is weird to me that she didn't confide in him about her serial killing predisposition. Or maybe she did and it happened offscreen. All I know is I come into most episodes of Riverdale wanting at least one scene of the OTP being adorable and I didn't really get it this week. Where can I launch an official complaint.

I did like the glimpse of Hal Cooper grooming bbBetty through the compassionate euthanasia of her cat though. With a rock. I would like more glimpses at Betty’s complicated relationship/history with her dad.

The scenes of Hermione Lodge’s “trial” were painful to me. NO THAT IS NOT HOW YOU DO A CROSS-EXAMINATION. YOU CANNOT JUST AMBUSH A WITNESS WITH NEW EVIDENCE. THERE ARE DISCLOSURE RULES. MARY, WHY ARE YOU NOT OBJECTING. I mean... I assume there are disclosure rules in the U.S. although tbf I mean who knows if they apply in Riverdale. Things in Riverdale are fucked up.

The vigilante!Archie storyline is great. And by “great,” I mean hilarious. Did he buy a little box to make his voice come out all Batman-y? Where does he hide it? Does Munroe know that his bestie is sneaking out at night to be a vigilante? 

I liked when Archie was like “my best friend’s dad is the sheriff” - yeah, just air those conflict of interests straight out to the whole press. Cool.

Veronica was NOT on her game in this episode. Openly conspiring with the prosecutor in public? Pff, everyone knows your secret half-sister PI could be listening in on it to clear your mob boss dad.

A+ job on the casting though, the Riverdale casting people strike again. 

Everybody has a secret half-sibling this season except Archie. Poor Archie. :(

I’m actually kind of glad that Hiram is back? He is not a very good villain but he is fun! I can’t wait for him to somehow buy off Dodger and his gang with the sole purpose of making Archie’s life miserable again. Oh Hiram.

Jughead was adorable but also a little bit tragic this week? Poor bbJughead, reading the “Baxter” books growing up to escape from his alcoholic dad and chaotic home life. :( 

anyway, this feels like kind of a weird thing to say, but... this episode felt a little boring?? Maybe I’ve been spoiled by rocket ships and my faves being locked in caskets as part of prep school ritual storylines. idk. Bring on the Jughead is “dead” storyline.
