Out NOW on @amazonprimevideo, @thevastofnightmovie!! I was the Key Grip, go check it out!!! Super proud of our Texas Crew that worked very hard on this Indie Feature!! It shows! You’d be surprised from set to screen, it’s quality. As the Poster says, “Brilliant” and “Ingenious”, but I think they forgot to brag about how good the movie is, and were really just talking about our (first time) Writer/Director/Producer, Andrew Patterson. Cinematography by @voy_onovoy, is nothing short or beautiful. The Production Design and Art Direction by @adamdietrichfilmmaker and @jgrudak, is great as always, perfect period piece art on a dime budget. To my G&E Brothers (not all on Insta, so I can’t Tag), we did a lot with a little! If I told you that majority of the film was only 4 G&E (2&2, with some day players) and only a 3 Ton Truck, where more than once we lit a half mile of scene... I’d almost be selling us short. Phenomenal work, guys!!! And, that level of effort an quality of work continues on throughout the whole Cast and Crew!!! Did a #DrivingScene with some #ProcessTrailer work, today. Basic setup, no big frills. Strapped the @chapman_leonard #CobraDolly the #Chapman Trailer. The Electrics kept the interior balanced with some @litepanels, from @beyondtherental, through the windows. #Bumpy and #dusty road, but we got the shots. Filmed on @arri #AlexaMini by DP @cvalds. Flashback Friday; to Day 1 of @fandpmovie, in the Big Bend Area. This day started with us on the side of the road on the way to Lajitas, and finishing our day, nearly missing our first of many storms to come, here on the Rio Grande River, the US/Mexico Border. Literally, the background on the left is Mexico. I’d like to take this moment, sharing this pic first, as a Thanks to our Grip Truck and Equipment Vendor, @beyondtherental (MP&E). It may have been a rushed prep, but they raised to the challenge and gave us the equipment we needed to do our job in this wild environment. Up since 4am, drove from Fort Worth to Carrollton to pick up the #GripTruck from @beyondtherental, then to #DFWAirport, #SplinterPackage on to Carts, Crew through TSA Security (hahaha), then down outside of the ramp way to film the #FlightCrew Prepping the #Airplane for Take off!
