Wanderlust of Bhivgad on 1-day Sunday Trek

7 of us friends together explore a new unknown spot, Bhivgad / Bhimgad / Bheemgad on 15th July 2018.

This seemed to us as a beginner’s trek. Simple and short. It took us around 30 minutes to climb up and the same to climb down. Hardly 2 to 3 km is the entire trek.

The blog post is divides as follows:

1) How to go (with Google Map & GPS trail)?

2) Trekking experience in video & photos.

4) Feedback (of the trek from co-trekkers).

1) HOW TO GO?

Grade: Easy.

Base railway station: Karjat. 

Exit from Karjat West side and rickshaws will take you to the base villages. From Karjat East, taxis (cabs) and tumtums (6-seaters) will take you to the base villages.

Base villages: Gaurkamat & Vadap. Both these villages are only a kilometer apart.

We climbed up from Gaurkamat and got down to reach Vadap.

2) EXPERIENCE

The descent towards Vadap:

You will pass a flagpost that will give directions towards Dhak mountain and Vadap village. Take the Vadap route to return or descend.

↑ With Bhivgad behind us, we climbed a bit of the path going towards Dhak mountain. ↑

And we completed the trek successfully and reached home by 5 pm!

3) EXPENSES:

30/- Rickshaw from home to station. 60/- Return Karjat train ticket. 60/- Shared cab (400/- for full cab, shared by 7 of us from Karjat East to Gaurkamat). 10/- Tea. 35/- Shared rickshaw (100/- for 3-4 passengers from Vadap to Karjat East railway station). 30/- Rickshaw from station to home.

Total = 225/-.

This is at the base of Borghat and was built to guard it. Songiri is a small fort, and there are 2 water tanks on the top, with remnants of ramparts. We get a beautiful glimpse of Borghat.
