If you have a scoliosis, it could impact your ability to walk or run. If your spine is crooked or messed up, it could make it more difficult for you to hold a postive way of moving forward. An improperly aligned spine can cause headaches and other problems, like shoulder pain and neck stiffness. Check with your doctor before using any new bike or fitness equipment. Wrinkling the spine can also be caused by many different factors, including aging, chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, and thyroid problems, as well as injury. Before trying out any new bike or fitness equipment, check with your doctor first to see if it’s right for you. Bikes can improve flexibility in people who have scoliosis by creating a neutral space between the bones in the back of the neck—an advantage for those with that disease. If you have no history of scoliosis, use caution when using a new exercise equipment. Some folding bikes have lumbar support systems that can be dangerous if they're not installed correctly—check with your pharmacist or weight-lifting club advisor before using this type of unit.
